I think it was pretty inevitable that Richard was eventually going to have a sperg out over Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Unless Richard gives you permission, you aren't allowed to dislike anything with Indiana Jones in it.

The impression I get (and I have never really been interested in Indiana Jones games, even good ones for whatever reason) is that it is mediocre at best. Which means it's exactly the kind of slop Richard will consider "Art & Culture."

It's not about calling the game woke, clearly Critical Drinker's point is that Dial of Destiny and other failures killed interest in the franchise and I doubt a PS5 port is gonna save it. Although the fact that he likes it, probably means it shit anyway. Marvel Rivals is a hero shooter which I don't think any of the guys Meyer likes to bitch about plays and the Arkham game is on VR, the worst possible place to release it, no surprise they're ignoring it. I wanted a new Arkham game, but I ain't playing that shit on VR, so yeah as far as I'm concerned, it doesn't exist. It's also getting obnoxious how he calls everything they comment on gay, for women, or for kids too. Dude is a massive idiot if he thinks Disney dumped millions into Mufasa just to cater to babies.

Richard clearly isn't paying attention to any online discourse. If it's noy beong said by a shit head, then to him it doesn't exist.

What does he think a PS5 port is going to do? Nobody gives a fuck about the PS5 (except for that guy who Harmful Opinions recently covered who was super excited about Concord giving the PS5 a good game) so I don't know what he thinks that's going to change.
But I've generally heard positive things about the game and some streamers I'm following are still playing through it.

And loads of people are playing Marvel Rivals. All I keep hearing is that it's amazing, and that it's a good version of Overwatch. My Youtube subscription feed is regularly filled with streams of the game. It surpassed 20 million players already, and that's without the birthday party clowns promoting it.

Also, I love how he's still salty that they're not talking about the Batman VR game.

No one cares about The Great Circle because the IP is too old to appeal to most of the age range that buys video games and the type of game it is just played out. Walking simulator with some puzzle solving and jank combat? Was a tired formula a decade ago. I mean I know he knows nothing about games but "A PS5 launch will really boost sales* made me audibly laugh.

That being said 2 of them did give it a shake and cover it to some extent. Mauler played it all the way through on stream and lost his mind at how dull it was, Az gave up on it a few hours in because even his stream viewers were bored from watching it. They talked about it together for about an hour on stream but it just wasn't worth mentioning more than that.

Marvel Rivals is popular but competitive shooters are a niche affair, most of the people he complains about like story driven or purely co-op multiplayer games. Disparu is the only person really into that genre in this sphere and he adores it and has been sinking an unhealthy amount of time into it. Even the "lesser" BPC's like side scrollers and clownfish tv who aren't really into that genre have covered it's aesthetics; how it's finding success in a tanking market with character designs and an art style that are actually pleasing to look at unlike most modern AAA releases.

Marvel Rivals is drawing away long time overwatch players and streamers, is regularly in the top 5 games on Steam and is doing extremely well. I am personally shocked that a game with 'Marvel' attached to it is a good game in this day and age, but it is. Most of the supposed culture war people that Zack complains about aren't talking about it because it is a multiplayer game only, they don't talk about those. Just like they don't talk about CS2 or Valorant, or Apex.

I mean since I haven't played Indiana Jones and the Great Circle I can't really comment too much about whether it is good or not. I don't really need a new game though because I just spent $3 on that Mad Max game that came out a few years ago which I doubt I'll even have time to play. I imagine if Zack picked up Mad Max in the Steam sale he'd be complaining that the "Birthday Party Clowns" aren't talking about that. "Why aren't the BPCs talking about the Mad Max game? It's obviously because it doesn't fit their narrative! After all I'm finally getting around to playing it which means it is important!" Going along with that, Zack is yammering about the PS5 port because that's when he is going to play Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, he can't play it until then. At which point it will be old news and the people he decided are his enemies won't talk about it unless some news article comes out about it.
