How about you ask WHY people hate on CG and like Eric? CG is a trail of broken promises, infighting and retardation. Eric does not do any of that. We used to like CG before it went to shit. Is it so hard to understand that someone can like someone without praying to his image? People hate EVS because he is a bad businessman and wasteful. People like Eric because he is neither. Yes, Cyberfrog 1 & 2 were successful. So? He is still bad at what he does and he struggles to make his comics on time. He is a professional artist for decades. He is expected to be better. Eric proved his excuses about lateness wrong. EVS wastes money on gambling, drugs and prostitutes and then he make new campaigns to pay his debts without actually planning to deliver. Good husbands do not spend money to lick urinals with prostitutes nor do they gamble. They throw themselves into work to make money to support their wife. They try to stick to deadlines to make good on their promises to their customers in order to maintain goodwill for their business for rainy days and other things that might cause delays in fulfillment.

If you actually did the math instead of taking Eric's word for it you'd know that.
Eric's books are on time. They are not for everyone but he has been writing for less than a decade and he is building his brand. He is making allies with other creators, getting famous people to work on his stuff like Dean and Chuck and works hard on his business. Maybe Eric is struggling to keep the lights on. That is the struggle of being indie, new and unproven. EVS was a big name in the industry, had CG at its peak supporting him and still ended up unable to give people his books. That is what Eric is better at: BUSINESS. He might be less talented than EVS but he works hard and makes business partners while EVS has alienated most of the people that covered the OG CG.
