If this had happened in isolation yes it's a dramatic overreaction but taken in totality with all the other crazy people causing EJ trouble it makes sense to alert law enforcement. A lawyer probably would've told them to file a report even if EJ had started the story with "I know this sounds crazy but..."

I'm just glad it helped me find my favorite video from old CG. i still don't know why moore thought it'd be a good idea to track down a critic in the street he owes money to, much less a crazy person like cummings was. lol

This thing is STILL unfulfilled. Ten years in December. Crowdfunding comics was a mistake even before CG.

Considering what kind of people Eric's enemies tend to be, having the police on speed dial is very much not an overreaction. Imagine having to go to work and be forced to deal with a stalker. No one wants that on a good day. Dismissing stalkers as harmless is like playing with a tiger. Does Eric not have kids? IIRC, he does. "Dad, that creepy man takes pictures of me!"

You were right before: if you have a complaint about literally anything the lawyer is gonna say you need a police report. So it probably is signalling some kind of legal action Cease and Desist perhaps coming against Bacon.
