It was such a top show and so popular it got canceled and this the first time in a decade with no Star Trek projects at any stage of planning or production.

If I were him I would be embarrassed. It was just a joke in the beginning, but when he tried to say they were for his 8 year old daughter "despite the fact they are adult men sized" THAT'S when he ended up pretty much exposing himself for wearing them himself. 🙄 All he had to do was keep his mouth shut, but he couldn't even do that. Well now EVERYONE knows at this point.

The interesting thing for me is that EVS's constant decline of talents, ability and competence is making me view his previous works differently. He is credited for creating a load of things for DC that I personally love, the Lantern Corps for a start. But that's alongside Geoff John's. Who to this day is fucking great at what he does. Did Geoff do all the hard thinking and give EVS a pity credit? And the new 52 Firestorm changed up the dynamic having multiple firestorms. But that was with Gail Simone, did she do all the heavy thinking on that's too? What happened there? Coz I'm doubting heavily he just went independent, seethed at a negro and suddenly became a fucking lame disappointment of a man....

I don't think he necessarily didn't have any role, but it may well be when you're working with someone who is trying to put out a comic with you, it may be that you're able to motivate more than if you were alone because you know that someone else is depending on your work.

Now that EVS is on his own and his own boss, and turns out, he may have lower standards than Johns, Simone, or DC.

Is it really so simple as "he is a fucking useless dildo left to his own devices"?

It's one thing to have a dip in quality and effort when going indie, but this seems way beyond that. That's why I question how much he actually contributed. Was he an integral part of did he spit a few ideas that someone made good. Because his %100 self owned creations are hardly iconic. A fucking cyborg frog and his lizard friend, staring the struggling and under performing Kickstarter campaigns

Ethan and the other CG Queens still subscribe to the underlying philosophy of Image's founding back in the 90s: Writers are worthless in a visual medium because they can't draw and people buy comics for the art, not the stories and also fuck editors.

Of course, the reality is almost all comic book artists are lazy retards, which means writers and editors are just as necessary for tard wrangling as they are for creative input. Early Image was notorious for late books, bad writing, and a near inability to maintain a coherent publishing schedule because that's what happens when comic artists are left to their own devices. Image turned around only when they began hiring competent writers who could keep readers interested and executives who could implement and maintain a professional schedule.

Ethan and the rest were successful because they worked with professionals in a professional environment under supervision. EVS will tell you his exit from the mainstream was motivated by political persecution and there may be an element of truth to that, but he also had a well documented history of missing deadlines (and being a dick) that made him a lot easier to fire.
