#Comicsgate - The Culture Wars Hit The Funny Books!

  • The Kiwi Farms was targeted with a historic DDoS attack last week. Confirmed reports of 2.8Tbps on an individual provider, topping 4.8Tbps when known volumes are added together, and possibly up to 8Tbps if the attacker is believed. This is the third of fourth largest recorded.

Can't I be both? 🤷 I mean it is possible Right?
It is recommended to rein in our biases. It helps come of as rational.

Also why do I need to shorten the length of my posts? Isn't it better the more information and good points I make? I don't want to leave anything out after all.
It is better to try to compress the info. Say a lot with as little as possible. Respect the readers' time. It makes everything easier to read.

And it still doesn't excuse the fact that they try to accuse me of ulterior motives just because I like something they don't.
It doesn't but everyone forms opinions and makes assumptions, you and I included. Expect that.

That's a good point and well made. I'll try and do that from now on.

Ok, I'll try. It may take some practice but I'll try.

That's true, but some assumptions sound more realistic than others. At least to me they do.

Try separating the script into paragraphs like an essay. I find that helps.

Fair but consider that others might have encountered fanboys that spoke in a similar manner to you. We are formed partially by our interactions.

It isn't correct though. I prefer to be accurate. Harder to disprove me.
Yet you make the assertion, that woke started in the 1970s.
Then noble savage concept started in the 1600s just like anti-colonialism, those are not ideas that poofed into existence in the 1970s.
Heart of Darkness a fiction about how the Dutch tortured blacks in Africa, is one of the pillars of progressive ideology and was published in 1899.

The reason the anti-White activism has gone into overdrive in the 90s is because mass immigration has started taking effect and the US was no longer a White country with some blacks left over from slavery, but was made multicultural.
In practice woke is simply anti-White.
"Woke" in the original definition.
The original definition goes back to blacks using it to signal that White devils are keeping them down.

Early Origins (1930s–1960s)

  • The term "woke" originated in African American Vernacular English (AAVE) as a variation of “awake.”
  • One of the earliest recorded uses in this sense comes from a 1938 article in the New York Times about a protest song by Lead Belly, who urged Black people to "stay woke" to racial injustices.

Civil Rights Era (1950s–1970s)

  • During the Civil Rights Movement, "stay woke" became a common phrase used by Black activists to encourage awareness of systemic racism, police brutality, and racial injustice.
  • It was often used in speeches and discussions about the need to remain vigilant against oppression.

Resurgence and Expansion (2010s)

  • The term saw a major revival with the rise of the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement in the 2010s.
  • It expanded beyond racial issues to include LGBTQ+ rights, feminism, economic justice, and climate activism.
  • "Woke" became widely used on social media to express awareness of social injustice.
The inclusion of fags in 2010 doesn't change it from being an anti-White, black people concept.
It has always been anti-White nonsense.
Used to be true. Nowadays, calling someone "racist" has no power. Were you asleep all these years?
You would call yourself a racist in public? If you are, then you are cool guy, but we both know that most would not do that.
How? His success stems from delivering consistent product when others didn't. He sells comics, delivers comics on time and can get big names to publish under him because he is a professional.
Even if you try to make the case that most of the guys who bought his stuff are not doing it because of anti-woke tribalism or to have a black shield against the R-word.
You still have to ignore that it is painfully obvious that this is what a lot of influencers including EVS did and do.
EVS not only promoted EJ because he had an audience, but also because he is a weak little faggot that was scared of being called a racist.

EVS calling FNT, Critical Drinker, etc. grifters is correct and he himself used to be part of that group of grifters, but they kicked him out for being a catty diva and now he has to grift in the corner.

A grifter is someone who pretends to stand for something and is making profit of that, while actually not standing for it.
Most of the youtubers who call or called themselves anti-woke fall perfectly into that category.
That's why they added "forced" to their definition of woke.
In fact most of them don't have any proper principles at all. Gay, trans, feminist, black, anti-White, etc. is all okay in a piece of media as long as the product is considered enjoyable. Doesn't sound like someone who opposes woke at all.
A culture warrior who doesn't have clear principles and is making money of it is a grifter.

Savages having wisdom as a concept existed even during the Roman Republic too. It was nothing new.

That story could have been with an all white cast and it would not change a thing. They could have tortured a relatively isolated Slavic settlement in Europe and nothing would change.

Still, it is about being aware of injustices. It resurfaced later in the modern "Woke Movement" when things were not nearly as bad all because some leftists wanted to pretend that they were Rosa Parks or MLK jr in order to feel like a revolutionary.

Point remains. Being woke now means to act as if you live during Jim Crow even when you aren't.

You would call yourself a racist in public? If you are, then you are cool guy, but we both know that most would not do that.
I wouldn't call myself anything in public. But the word has nowhere near the power it had. Look at how many people are called "Nazis" on the drop of a hat. It means "I dislike your opinion" as of now.

EVS wanted cult members. More members = more power. He IS racist and he probably did support EJ to better pretend he isn't but there were other POCs in the fandom that he could have chosen. Eric was influential without EVS and his customers do not care he is black. Most of them were his fan before he went to comics. EVS might care but the fans don't. They just like that he doesn't shove his politics in his comics or the fact that he got Chuck Dixon to make stuff.

Grifter means scammer. You might not like things about Eric but that doesn't make him a scammer. What you are describing is pretender. As for his principles, Eric is a libertarian. I have my own opinions on those guys but he never pretended to be right wing, unlike Zack. Libertarians dislike government regardless of left or right.

Trust me us fanboys have run into our fair share of anklebiters. If you seen how intolerant and full of themselves they are as well as how nasty they act, you would probably talk the same way I am to them. For the final time I can agree to disagree, but I won't have people accuse me of outlandish things.

Brevity is the soul of wit
You also have no room to talk, especially after the crap you tried to accuse me of as well as how you tried to make me look like a genuine POS. If anything you are one of the examples of what me and him are talking about.

Ethan van Sciver is reporting that he was arrested, allegedly for calling Liam Gray a liar. His first reflex is to get in touch with cokehead ex-lawyer Nicky Rackets.

I am a thread tourist and I am not sure if this is the appropriate place for this report, but this is the thread where Sciver shows up most, so I assume I'm okay.
