When Richard was a kid, he thought kids who played with He-Man toys were retards. As an adult, he thinks men who criticize the new Masters of the Universe movie are retards. Anyway, that's the summary, here are the videos.

 
I do not know where Zack gets the idea that movies have several ways to make money after their original release.
It's not the 90s, 2000s, or even the 2010s. Average people are not buying DVDs, Blu rays, etc. Video games or any other lincesing products are not going to come out nor sell even if they did.
Masters of the universe on amazon prime is just another grain in the silo. It's not going to increase subscribers and it's unlikely to reach the top 5 that week.
Airlines don't pay huge amounts for individual films. They acquire bundles of movies through specialized companies that manage licensing and content delivery.
When they launch films on the teather they expect to turn a profit. Just because Amazon is rich enough that it doesn't even leave a dent, doesn't mean it wasn't a flop and a failure of the people who green lighted the film.

Masters of the Universe is unlikely to become a cult classic in 10 years.
2012 Dredd is truly a great movie that anyone without knowledge of the source material can enjoy and yet it hasn't become a cult classic after 14 years. It is seen in a good light by internet people but it is a far cry from Blade Runner or A Christmas Story. It hasn't changed culture or influenced anybody in the industry.
If Dredd couldn't manage this What chances does any movie made in the last 5 year have? Furiosa has already been forgotten and will only be remembered as a spin off of Mad Max.

I mean Richard is just as out of touch as the other 50+ guys he hates. I think a cheap He-Man beat 'em up came out, oh, I just checked and it isn't out yet:

However, I don't think this is related to the movie, or to the Kevin Smith series (which Richard says is good because of course he does). There is really no way to spin this failing at the box office as irrelevant to the people who were on Team He-Man at Amazon.

Cult classic is one of these terms I would probably define more strictly than most people. I feel like cult classics have distinct fandoms around them, but fandoms that developed after the cult classic had already failed financially in it's original incarnation. This is different than a movie that failed at the box office but then made it's money back in home video sales. He-man was a popular enough toy line that I think it already has a legitimate fandom around it, so it isn't going to be a "cult classic." As to making it's money back in home video, they've been systematically cutting the legs out of that market in favor of pure digital distribution. Amazon is particularly disgusting here, because even if you buy a digital movie from Amazon, they claim the right to remove it from your library. I mean I guess people do buy and rent movies from them, but if this is on prime streaming, I don't think subscribers would bother.

Which also explains why he ALSO wastes his time ankle biting Eric July and Rippaverse. It's always jealousy and envy with these people.... you don't see Eric July putting down CG or ankle biting them....He definitely has the success level to do it, but he's not.

It seems like he and I live in your heads more than you live in any of ours by FAR. 😏 Just because EVS does the stuff you speak of, doesn't mean HE does. EJ is way too busy for such pity stuff.
