It's hilarious how people here grasp for any potential allies against the evil SJWs, even batshit religious fundamentalists. It won't be long before they start hailing Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as an anti-SJW hero like the Daily Stormer does.

It's almost like people who define themselves around comics and video games tend not to have a very mature understanding of politics, or, indeed, anything.

Even if it's not true it's going to be pretty accurate for the fallout that's going to occur in marks proffesional life, the amount of ill will generated is really going to undermine him with both fans and the more proffesional minded peers.

EDIT-it also probably doesnt occur to mark how he's just legitimzed his detractors.

I can definitely see DC taking note of this before considering hiring Mark again. Didn't their social media practices get leaked a while ago and show that they don't approve of the tomfoolery that the Marvel writers get up to?

If last night proved anything, it was that these people are genuine harassers who (while saying their opponents gatekeep) managed to bully a publisher into dropping a book because they hate the guy. Kieran is another one of those people for whom it is a blessing from heaven that he is so fucking lazy and incompetent, because he's so full of resentful hatred that he is capable of justifying anything.
 
In retrospect it's rather funny how one guy made so many people in the industry screech at the sky. Granted many in the industry are a bunch of creeps like Waid, or downright insane like trannies. The fact that he gets more views than they sell comics is even funnier.
 
I know it's easy to find people who have pirated material, I'd be a hypocritic if I didn't admit to piracy, but Kieran's tweets always remind me of one where he openly talked about never buying comics and illegally reading what he does read off certain sites. Pretty sure it was posted on the Farms.

He really doesn't factor into anything since he'd never put his money where his mouth is. That's barely a step up from people who don't read any comics and go "I heard lesbian so I clapped!". It undermines the idea that woke changes are good for publishers.

“It won’t sell.” $202K by >5K backers internationally.
“We won’t stock it.” That’s fine, I will special order it through you.
“We won’t accept any special orders.” Refusing to sell something that already has a customer.

He “gets” review PDFs. Since he’s not working as a journo anymore, I doubt that’s true. He has to e-beg for basic necessities and rent frequently, he most likely doesn’t even have a budget for comics.

On the other hand... Mark Waid is looooooong overdue for getting his just desserts for acting like a sperg over the years (to put it very lightly), and if this is true, then Cebulski has my utmost respect for yanking both Waid and Brevoort by the ballsacks over this.

Part of me hopes that this is true. Heaven knows how many times Marvel should have yanked the choke chain when Waid sperged.

One thing I do know is that DC Comics likely doesn't want Waid because of the bad blood between him and Dan DiDio (who, to his credit, keeps his Twitter account private and acts professional despite the flack he gets.) I remember reading that Waid would like a shot at Shazam on Reddit a while back. Should this Anon's testimony prove to be true, I have a hard time imagining that DC would let him write it because he is a liability to the company's image.

That said, the last work of Waid's I have bought was Indestructible Hulk, which I found to be stunningly mediocre. The man is clearly an angry, washed-up hack who leans heavily on social justice to stay relevant despite the fact that he is clearly out of touch. When I flipped through Champions I could hardly believe that he ever wrote Impulse, one of my favourite titles, over twenty years ago.

On the one hand, I can kinda but this. David's apparently bipolar or something similar and he's had a long history of acting out violently and has on a few occasions literally ripped apart his Marvel office during a spergout. So none of this is out of character for Waid, and it would understandably puss of Cebluski since he's been trying to trim a lot of the day and drama from what I can gather.hamd

On the other hand I'll believe it when I see those emails or an official statement.
