Objectivism is a very strange strain of right wing, though, hence I qualified the statement. His actual viewpoints over his entire life are a bit more complex than just being able to be reduced to left/right bullshit.

It's honestly more insidious then that. White men bitching about the patriarchy and "white people" are engaging in a religious exercise that is very similar to scourging in traditional religion. As in, the monk who whips his own body to atone for sins. Just as the monk believes in his own sinful nature, these people have been taught to view their very existence as a sin, one that must be atoned for.

People say SJWs are a cult, but they don't really understand what that means. Fundamentally, all religions are essentially powerful ideologies. And what we are seeing here is the manifestation of faith. Vile, misguided faith. But it burns true for its adherents and those who do not "believe" are filthy heretics. What is/has happened to comics needs to be seen in this light. Essentially, religious fanatics have taken it over and have imposed their dogma on it.

When will the comicsgate crew learn? You don’t make heroes you want to see. You make heroes .01% of the population wants to see but won’t buy.
 
Long ago when the dreaded goobergaaber happened, I always pondered how few people actually heard about it outside of the video game hobby. Now I feel I have something to compare it to, because I only heard about the coomergaaber this past month from fans of comics (I stick to Don Rosa, Stan Sakai and old French comics tyvm) and more than ever I have to laugh how the screeching diversity police can't grasp how little of a fuck the public actually knows or cares, especially since Marvel movie-goers are not the same people who buy the comics. In a year's time it'll be yet another past echo that some dangerhair keeps crying about as a 'survival story' until they choke on their own salt.
