@Jub-Jub theres about a minute of Zack explaining his thoughts and about 4 minutes of ugly, bad cosplayers explaining how wrong and ignorant he is. You see little to no actual discourse between Zack and Jeffries.

Thing is, I wouldn't even mind if more people became interested in the things I like as long as they were willing to adapt themselves to the existing culture. Instead they demand that the existing culture change to suit them and get weirdly defensive when people point out that's not how it works.
 
They tried so hard to make Zack look as bad as possible, but I honestly think they ended up hacking the bit into so many ugly pieces of edit, that they did him a favour.

Dan Abnett as writer means I am on board just by default. I read the first issue and it was really good so thanks for the suggestion. I hadn't heard about it all, actually.

I think what sets this apart from the really stupid shit NuMarvel is writing is that she feels like an actual person with vulnerabilities and stakes - she has a family and a place and some goddamn personality. It was nice to read about a mother for once that doesn't pose it as this burden martyr position, too.

I mean, the number one reason Super Sons was so successful is that it's being read by older comic fans who have kids and read it with their children. Which is what Marvel SHOULD be doing instead of trying to pander to twenty something leftists with their fur babies and their irrational disdain for the nuclear family. DC has at least understood that comic fans are getting older and skewed correctly to this demographic while still making classic comics that are meant for younger ones like Teen Titans. (Which, despite being a bit younger STILL has older fans). DC isn't perfect, taking on Bendis for Superman and Vertigo giving Zoe Blowy her own dumb series is a misstep but a least it's a contained situation in Zoe's case.
 
That means anything from new long-form content and series on Marvel.com, to more short-form stuff across social like Instagram, Snapchat and Facebook. Since this is from April 2017, I'm now curious. Have they actually done any of this? I'm not on Instagram or Snapchat so I guess I wouldn't know. And given that your shit theoretically disappears from Snapchat very quickly, I'm honestly a bit mystified how you market via it, unless you're constantly spamming.

You really don't realize how good a writer Abnett is until you sit and read through some of his 40k stuff, then try to wade through books by other authors. Abnett and Sandy Mitchell are about the only Black Library authors I would consider good. And Abnett is reenacting classic WW2 battles in his Gaunt's Ghosts series, while Mitchell is ripping off Blackadder and Flashman.

He is the best author the Black Library has. I'll read anything he writes. Hell, if he was given America Chavez I'd read it because he'd find a way to make it good and interesting.

I’m surprised you haven’t run across this, it’s one of the books Comicsgate, MoveTheNeedle and Zack himself shill for.

Bendis was a Trojan Horse, rats are fleeing the sinking Marvel ship and are getting into DC. G. Willow Wilson (Ms.Marvel), and Kelly Sue Deconick (nothing of worth) are taking over Wonder Woman and Aquaman.

Is taking over what is arguably the best title DC is currently publishing. If you haven’t read Aquaman (Rebirth), you’re seriously missing out on a great comic, it’s also written by Dan Abnett. The art and story telling are very well done and it has very consistent sales, the only criticism I can give is that it follows the ‘pace for the trade’ but it still manages to make single issue not feel like filler. They even managed to pull off a tyrant taking over a nation without it feeling like they’re referring to Drumpf.

She’s going to take over with Mera as Queen of Atlantis, no fucking way she won’t turn it into cringe after all the hard work Dan Abnett put in to make Aquaman so good.
 
DC are ruining Aquaman too? Why did I ever start reading Rebirth when all they're doing is taking the stuff I fell in love with again and burning it down with no survivors...

I am still trying to work out how and why Didio still has a fucking job. Considering that Rebirth was mostly Geoff Johns' brainchild, you'd think they would just sack Dan at last but somehow this led to him getting enough power back to get rid of what was working and go back to shit that failed miserably.

I guess this will be the new creative cycle for DC - Didio tanks the product with horrendous ideas and creative for 3-5 years, Johns comes in to fix things for a year, and then Didio comes back to fuck it up some more.
