He's not wrong. And that could honestly be the unofficial slogan of the Farms.(33:33) “...I’m weird, but I’m more normal than they are...”
Random.txt worthy.
You've heard "The Future is Female", you fell in love with "The Future is Brown", you were in awe of "The Future is Queer" but I present to you....."THE FUTURE IS COSPLAY"!

I just want to know how they found Mike Stoklasa and didn't say anything about him constantly staring at that woman's boobs.View attachment 504148
The future of comics are a bunch of speds who cosplay at Comic-Con, a convention that has long since abandoned its roots in comics in favor of movies, tv, collectibles, celebrity meet ups and weeb shit.
Might as well make a topic out of this. My local Comic-Con barely has anything comics related since at least 8 years straight. It practically an WeebCon and barely a couple of comics related “celebrities” actually show up to do signings (most overcharging for the signature, seriously fuck you Frank Miller, $40 for a single signature). If I have to pie-chart it, I’d say 50% is weeb shit, 30% is movie shit, 15% is other and that last 5% is comics-related, mostly rare comics being resold.
I’ve asked around and the comics section of most cons just keeps getting smaller and smaller each year. I’m curious if it’s the same for you guys as well.
If the future is a bunch of cosplayers, the comics industry might as well just close up shop, these sped are only interested in the movies and couldn’t care any less about the source material.

The fact that connections were obviously pressed so damn hard for such a mindbendingly pathetic reason to such utterly miserable effect speaks volumes as to the situation these fucking people have made for themselves. Because out of touch execs are still under the impression that "pretending to be woke will get us gorrillions of tumblr demographic customers" you have random scrubmonkeys with zero fandom or status outside the cloistered world of woke-media-cliques having free reign of their bosses' and companys' connections to do nothing but extend their twitter tantrums to a new media by any means necessary.
The salt from the D&C interview is fantastic:

D&C made a vid apologizing to Heather:

So basically comicgater people are like 'fuck you Jim for cutting up Richard's interview and making him look bad you hack fraud' and the other SJWs are like 'REEEEE EXPOSURE TO COMICHITLER REEEEE IT'LL RECRUIT MORE which only tells me that they are SO afraid of our boy Zach because they realise he has legitimate points and the general public who don't suck SJW cock on Twitter because they have lives can see it too.

"You idiot! You made him look like a clown instead of a NAZI!"
Am I reading that right? That's the actual complaint? Stated without irony? A clumsy hitpiece wasn't vitriolic enough?

The only thing I disagree with is this part. The future of COMICS isn’t these people, merch and movies definitely."The future is cosplay"? I can see that, cosplayers are cash cows.
The local Comic convention near me recently announced they'd no longer be hosting/inviting comic book shops or anyone/thing comic specific because "Comics don't reach the key demographics we wish to appeal to."View attachment 504148

If anything I appreciate the loss of mutually contracting stances, sjws previously viewed opposition as both dumb basement dwelling pissbabies who couldnt do anything but also evil people who were put people in real danger. If anything this a step forward for them since they are now aware of cognitive dissonance.
What a depressing thought. Most cons nowadays are owned by large-scale event organizer companies and they're going to go where the big bucks are. Comics just don't draw the cash cows who pony up the big bucks for event and panel attendance, merch, and celebrity photo ops so of course they're going to sideline comics in the pursuit of turning cons into soulless money printing machines.
A few years ago one of the Z-lister celebs whose main source of revenue is con appearances blew the whistle on how they're organized and run behind the scenes. I think it may actually have been Wil Wheaton, and it if was it was the one good thing he's ever done. Basically they're paid, brought in with their comp shit, do their panels, but not allowed to appear on the event floor or interact with fans outside heavily-controlled PR stuff and scheduled booth appearances. Con staff and spokespeople always say it's for the safety and security of guests, but everyone knows it's bullshit. Con organizers don't want featured guests anywhere they can interact with fans without paying first, so they babysit and shepherd featured guests around which keeps them from actually enjoying the con and/or local hotspots.
The article pointed out that's why walking convention floors incognito is so popular, and why they know the security thing is bullshit. As long as the celebrity isn't recognizable, con staff doesn't give a shit. I want to say Adam Savage halfway blew the whistle once without admitting it outright when talking about his convention costumes, because he said after Mythbusters going incognito is the only way he gets to walk the floor, interact with people, and just enjoy the con. You might think he was talking about getting to walk the floor without being mobbed by fans, but he's consistently on record as enjoying that sort of thing.
"The future is cosplay"? I can see that, cosplayers are cash cows.

So comics are simultaneously the work of white devils AND beating off the bigots manchildren who don't get they're making millions on "Coloured People" digital sales which we'll never see?The local Comic convention near me recently announced they'd no longer be hosting/inviting comic book shops or anyone/thing comic specific because "Comics don't reach the key demographics we wish to appeal to."

I know that it was (well, is) considered 'good manners' to not harass or bug guests if they're making their way around the convention, but that sort of manipulation I find incredibly dispiriting.
Not saying you're wrong, but how's that? I've heard whispers of how cons court cosplayers and how they ruin cons but the reasoning is unclear. The cons I go to tend to be smaller so it's not as big of an issue.
