I've come to really dislike this movement recently. If you support it whatever, this ain't to stop you or to change your mind, cause I'm not a libtard sjw. Just my thoughts.
I've been following some of these guys since the start and they really let ''success'' go to their heads. Now they act like leaders representing the disgruntled comic readers, reminds me of Anita and her cronies... None of these people steer away from the big two, they're very focused on super hero comics and completely ignore independent titles or foreign comics. Hell I've seen plenty shitting on creator owned titles just because they had the wrong politics in it. There are good comics out there, but they're never promoted. These so called leaders never promote these books unless it's some 90s reject garbage made by them. It's more profitable to create drama. Just like Gamergate this only attracts drama seekers who never gave a fuck about comics and are in it for the lolz and twitter wars. Just look at their comment sections and you're guaranteed to find a bunch saying ''I don't even read comics I just love the drama lol''. And for people who say they want politics out of comics there sure are many who want or don't mind right wing stuff in them.

Should I really listen to DnC who buys comics with arcs out of order and then complains that they don't make sense. Gee maybe you shouldn't have read part 3 out of 6 first. He even called Green Lanterns SJW because the protagonists weren't white, like come the fuck on. Or ripping apart comics like a child because that will show Marvel, it's not like he already paid or anything. Could have given them to another child or something but nah, better read this comic underwater and then wonder why it comes apart! Same with EVS. He started out alright by taking potshots at sjw's but now hearing a grown man spout 4chan memes every sentence and try to be taken seriously while slamming action figures against the wall is just ludacris. And stop with the patreon panhandling, literally video maker does this now. Nothing against it but you're talking to a camera/microphone why should I give you money?
The industry is full of degenerates like Rodriguez, Waid and so many others but if the figures of Comicsgate are the alternative then I'd rather abandon the whole genre. Sorry for the textwall lol, just wanted to get this out.

In short, the entire comics industry would have to scrap their entire distribution model and start from scratch: getting their single issues into more wide-spread venues like book stores, getting rid of the crossover event model, shrinking their shared universes by either designating a handful of their best-sellers to their own books and putting the rest in as side characters or team books, possibly getting rid of the single issue model completely to allow for longer production times to make trades right off the bat.

Problem with attempting to implement any of this however is that there's no way to do any of them without pissing off the existing comic shops, because changes like this would pretty much fuck all of them over. I remember about a month ago comic shop owners were losing their shit at DC because they made a single comic a Walmart exclusive because they claimed that not having a monopoly on single issue distribution would hurt their businesses. Imagine the salt if the Big 2 tried to do something that on a wider scale.

Though the sad thing is, the current model isn't sustainable either as we've seen with nuMarvel, so all the Big 2 are really doing is delaying an inevitable crash at this point.

That's fair enough. The main reason why I have been nominally supportive of Comicsgate is because of the entitled behaviour of so-called professionals and not because of people like DnC or EVS. Most of these assholes are really horrid little people who think that virtue signalling to a bunch of SJWs who don't even buy the product will wipe the slate clean. Look at Mark Waid, I have a sneaking suspicion that the shenanigans we know he's been up to is just the tip of the iceberg of shitty behaviour in his 30+ year long career. Social justice is more of a means to satisfy his narcissism and prove that he's a "good boy." Some like Jeff Lemire, Adam Glass, and Bill Whatever-the-fuck-his-name-is are just jumping on the bandwagon because that is what the industry "cool kids" are doing. Others like Mags and Michelle Perez are leveraging their status as "oppressed minorities" to gain influence, which is all they care about. It's certainly not because of their love for the medium.

What really bothers me is the (figurative) incestuousness inside the industry, both on the creative side and the media. It's fucking worse that a clan of hillbillies in backwoods Appalachia. They seriously believe that there is a whole untapped market out there. They just need to replace or alter beloved characters because, "muh representation." The ugly they refuse to confront is that SJWs don't buy comics. These people colonize and then take over fandoms because they love the power they get from gatekeeping the community. That combined with the current failing model of the industry is accelerating its demise. Here is the thing: creators and editors cannot afford to piss off the fanbase that has supported them for decades because society as a whole has moved on to other forms of entertainment. Marvel Entertainment is barely even relevant because it is Marvel Studios that has generated billions for the Mouse.

I see Comicsgate as a last stand for a fanbase that is getting spit on by the creative side after their years of loyalty. The industry may be swirling around the toilet, but the true fans will be damned if they don't go down without a fight. If I have to suffer the exceptional hijinks of DnC and EVS, so be it.

I haven't even listened to a whole video by DnC because they're annoying. I'm just in it for laughing at tards like these who send pictures of their assholes to their critics, or like Waid, who explodes into thermonuclear retardation every five minutes or so.

"Latinx" is a good way of identifying "I am an American who likes to play pretend". No, I'm not saying he doesn't come from a Latino family, I'm saying that the label solely exists in English speaking countries.
 
I understand why movements like this exist but there's always cons to go with the pros. Today, Neil Gaiman was called out for support of Robbi Rodriguez when the man never supported Rodriguez. I don't know how it exactly started because some of the original tweets have been deleted but I guess someone assumed Rodriguez worked for Gaiman or some shit which lead to people claiming they were going to boycott his future books because of it. Gaiman made multiple tweets that these claims were untrue. He had to flat out say that what Rodriguez did was appalling behavior before it seemed people finally started backing off. Forcing people to take a stance is idiotic. I feel this coincides with bullying and I'm all for boycotting people with your wallet but damn, make sure what you're boycotting is true first.

I lost all respect for Gaiman when he went along with the "stop reading white men" shit that happened a few years ago. He deserves the company he keeps.

Every time I hear that latin twink shit I'm reminded of that old Chris Rock song no sex in the champagne room where he says "if a homeless guy is holding a funny sign he's not really homeless, a real homeless guy will be too goddam hungry to think of anything funny to write" it's when you have that little to do that shit like this is thought up. You know, it's weird when I see "Are you saying WHITENESS is essential to [character]". Mostly cause nobody points out that if given the chance, they totally would add things to a black Peter Parker which they'll then say are "inherent" and demand any future incarnations to follow. It's not really a good argument.
