Even after reading those articles, I don't get why photo shopping smiles onto superheroes triggers them so much. They talk about "being yourself regardless of what anyone says", but I don't see how that connects to photo shopping smiles onto super heroes.

It reminds me of the Hawkeye Initiative that claimed to prove superhero covers are sexist, when all it really proved was that fat feminists and soyboy cucks look ridiculous trying to do super hero poses. Or the "It's ok to be white" posters that was obviously bait, but they couldn't not bite.

Oh, for fuck's sake ...

Speaking as one of those vagina-havers, if I fought to become a test pilot and then went through hell and somehow acquired phenomenal cosmic power, I'm pretty sure I would be feeling emotions other than "stoned blankness." There would be smiles, grins, tears, rage, and possibly double raised middle fingers to camera. It's not sexist to notice that Captain Marvel, The Hero Who Will Save Us All, appears to have been lobotomized and is emoting with all the energy and vitality of an autistic tree stump.

Also, I don't give a shit about Captain Marvel and I'm not gonna go see the new film. Got a bad case of the ol' internalized misogyny, I guess.

Because they have no empathy or anything resembling normal emotions other than what they're told to feel through their choices of media..

Also, The Hawkeye Initiative is stupid, because Jojo's Bizarre Adventure and Grappler Baki exist...and despite all the weird poses and occaisionally baffling anatomy, they STILL manage to be manlier than all their woke comics combined.

(And actually most were pretty upset with the hamfisted way Rhodey lost his set of armor after Tony donned his new suit. We liked Rhodey and demanded he continue alongside Tony. Hence War Machine).

What?? Impossible! I was told all old comic fans were racist! You hate Rhodey right now!

What's remarkable to me is how few of those 90's characters really lasted. If you actually look at it the only new 90's comic characters to leap into pop culture and have any lasting impact were 90% from the (arguably deranged and immature) mind of Rob Liefeld. (runner up status goes to Kurt Busiek and Mark Bagley who took a pack of D list villains and re-invented them as conflicted anti heroes with new identities in Thunderbolts). I think the only DC 90's characters to have any real staying power were Kyle Raynor and Tim Drake?

Not quite true. Conner Kent (Superboy) and John Henry Irons (Steel) became well-loved members of Superman's supporting cast after "Reign of the Supermen" and the former's solo series lasted 100 issues before its cancellation.

You too! Stop liking John Henry Irons! How can all you racist alt-righters like these black characters just because they're well written and likable?

*bzzzt*

Sorry, I seem to have overloaded my sarcasm processor. Anybody got a spare?

The over saturation of Variant covers is also a major player in this shit heap, for an example Tony Stark: Iron Man has the absolute laziest variant cover list I’ve ever seen:

This legitimately looks like crap from an order to ship site. “Pick your favorite wolvie and get it on a mug, tote bag, or variant number 1!!”

The Reveal radio show/podcast aired an episode investigating the alt-right and the current culture war in comics. And it made Tess Fowler "stress cry":

Here’s a tip, turn off the screen or go protected mode.

The most amusing thing about this is Mags showing a police officer tweets calling him a “man in a wig” and the officer either not caring or agreeing.

If it’s out there on public display why am I having a hard time finding it from any CG accounts?

Mags neglects to mention that CG’s worst actors donated a combined $24K to charity involving cancer research, lgbt+ suicide hotline support and retired comic pro support.

Did anyone write an article defending Rodriguez tweeting bootyhole pictures to Van Sciver or did they just act like ig never happened?

There is this article about how it's no big deal.
Do be warned is does have the censored versions of the picture all over the article:

Ethan Van Sciver vs Robbi Rodriguez – Fractured, But Whole
Remember how certain people overreacted to a few below the belt jokes from a decade ago by James Gunn that wouldn’t have been out of place in Monty Python or South Park that supposedly got him fired from Guardians Of The Galaxy? I say supposedly, because it strikes me that there is something still missing from that chain of events. Gunn driving over Alan Horn‘s dog, that kind of thing.

Anyway, there was more pearl-clutching going on this weekend when Robbi Rodriguez, co-creator of Spider-Gwen and the upcoming Goddess Mode for DC/Vertigo, decided to show Ethan Van Sciver exactly what he thought of him after the Darwyn Cooke kerfuffle. By baring his ass cheeks at him and tweeting the result, stating ‘Hey, I made some f** off tweets but also fuck youncomic gaterers, and really f-ck @EthanVanSciver hope the gay frogs that gave you the best In Youre life. Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd. I misss you. ‘

It was gross. Instant #Bumgate.

Apparently, this is a hate crime, or at least this is how it’s being spun by people who want a double-Gunn moment. And are trying to get him fired from DC Comics. Even managing to get Neil Gaiman involved by talking about boycotting Sandman, also published by DC Comics.

All I can say, is these people really should never watch Monty Python, South Park or even pick up a copy of the upcoming Batman: Damned by Brian Azzarello and Lee Bermejo which, as I understand it, features a perfectly crafted Bat-arse. Okay maybe not a close-up.

And who is a normal person?

So everyone who isn’t Robbi Rodriguez? Or does normal mean something else? As they say, opinions are like assholes. Everybody’s got one. And sometimes, it seems, people post them on Twitter…

Whether or not it is modelled on Robbi’s posterior, I couldn’t tell you.

That’s a Rich Johnston piece alright. He really knows how to downplay sexual harassment and you can be sure he’d do the same if it was from EVS to someone else, right?

More like ultimate fatass.

I think the industry is really REALLY trying to memory-hole it. But the screenshots & archives make wont let it totally die

Mooning is immature but not sexual in nature.

An asshole pic is not mooning, whether or not you're a known degenerate pervert.

I find it hilarious that DC's Captain Marvel movie looks super fun with a kid running around in a superhero body and fucking around being dumb, and Marvel's Captain Marvel movie looks like she's miserable or medicated.
