Probably synergy with the 2nd MCU Spider-Man movie being in July. They really want to cash in on that. Spamming the fuck out of whatever character is going to show up in the movies is a common tactic from them.

Oh, I didn't realize that was coming out in July. But that tactic for comics never works. Normies don't really give a shit about comics and they're just spreading out the profits from people that actually do. I might get the reprints though since those are only a buck.

Really? I think this one is him (red circle). Yellow circle looks too cool. In his older photos, he looks like a real nerd.

EDIT: lol I knew it. Nerd.

I would say the one in red too the one in yellow has a too fat face, even fatter than not so well in chape Zach has now.
He said something about what he did in the army, maybe somebody can identify his role and the role of the guy in red.

Should #Comicsgate be looking at Viz Originals going forward in the future? (http://archive.li/T7gxV)

The Viz Originals is a new line of manga-like contents made by English-speaking authors which goes for a black-and-white style (though granted that's a necessary evil due to the insane work schedules mangakas have to deal with to push out comics on a weekly basis). Submission via portfolio review or online will be available later this year.

The American comics industry does so much wrong that if it weren't for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we would not have one anymore. $5 for like twenty pages a month, only able to buy through comic book stores, predatory practices from Marvel where they will withhold comics that a store wants until they add what they want even if that does not sell, god awful stories, not taking advantage of digital platforms to sell comics, and politics ensuring that if you think the wrong way, you can't get a job. Like Zack said, they have culled out the normies from the comics. We might be weirdos laughing at exceptional people on the Internet but most people just want to live their lives.

Viz Media, on the other hand, has good relationships with their consumers, have great deals like the awesome Shonen Jump app that allows you to browse the most popular comics for $1.99 a month, makes aggressive pushes into digital platforms, is available outside comic book stores, and from what I understand don't force down identity politics down consumers' throats. Now we have them pushing into publishing western comics themselves. They have an amazing opportunity to swallow up the comics market and set new standards for comics. Normies will want this even though manga is still niche outside Japan.

As much as I appreciate EVS's efforts to push Cyberfrogs (and will be donating to the campaign), even he knows that this is not where the industry needs to go (and I recall him admitting that). It's obvious that if #Comicsgate wants to make a noticeable impact on the industry, they will have to embrace changes and a lot of it is going to involve stuff western comics fans may not like.

Does anyone know what this new issue with Doug is? I am not in the hoop so much anymore, but I watched Ethan's live stream this morning and someone superchatted about Doug "destroying comicsgate" and Ethan said Doug needs a timeout. Any thing what he said? I think it was something to do with Indiecron.

Yes, I know I could watch several hours of live streams to figure it out, but fuck that. Hoping someone actually caught it already.

Fascist alt-right racist bigot homphobe Peter Simeti of known neo-nazi comics publishing house Alterna Comics has launched an IndieGoGo campaign to raise some money for increased storage space. The pledge tiers are basically random assortments of comix. Get 25 books for $20, 50 books for $35, or 100 books for $65 - that's a lot of comic books. All of the tiers have limited quantities, so get in quick if you're interested.

"Hey yall know what will REALLY get the gorrillions of black people out there to buy our shitty comics? depict black women as crinkled 60 year old liche-hags and depict black men as effete limp looking stringbeans who act gayer than a san fransisco bathhouse orgy. I mean we all know that every demographic that isnt FFFFFFUCKING WHITE MAAAAAAAAAALE is just as obsessed with intersectional deconstruction of traditional beauty and masculinity as we are!"

I like their trailer, it's a bit cringy but it made me chuckle:

I don't know but I know that Nassar is somehow involved (the guy who got famous for cutting his hair to look like Zack's bad haircut) and where ever he is, there's usually autism.

Brad Ashworth inadvertantly had Crypto Comics edit some text for his IndieGoGo campaign. When Jean Luc Meisel found out, he got Jessie Miller to lure Brad onto a stream wherein the two of them proceeded to yell at Brad and berate him until they kicked him. Then they berated him some more. Then after that Jean Luc declared "this is WARCAMPAIGN!" as if driving someone out of the comicsgate movement was a victory.

Brad was understandably like "Fuck this shit."

PixelTraitor took Brad's project off Indiecron.

"Dirty" Doug went "WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU" and got drunk on a stream and yelled at people for driving people out of comicsgate.

This makes Doug the villain.

So now Edwin Boyette runs Indiecron and the old Indiecron crew is making CGonly for comicsgate books... while Indiecron is still just for comicsgate books.

And somehow this makes Doug the villain, for defending someone who was being unfairly attacked and calling the WARCAMPAIGN out on their shit.

Edit-- Doug also said he was going to make up the difference between whatever Brad's goal was and any shortfall himself to make up for what the WARCAMPAIGN did to him.

The TL;DR? Jesus, there's no such thing, both the lore and spedery are deep on this one.... here's what I gather, but I'm open to correction since I'm vomiting this out from memory.

The anti's have been quiet lately which means, as usual, it's time for comicsgate to descend into factional infighting again.

Doug went full exceptional and started calling everybody SJW's (again? FFS Doug) over Indiecron's decision not to list Brad Ashworth's book 'The Handyman' on the site, thus re-igniting the whole 'gate-keeping controversy'.
Apparently Ashworth got some help setting up his indiegogo from a Warcampaign bete noir, Crypto comics:
Ashworth's association with Crypto kept him off the site and this caused the ruckus.

The lore on that nonsense is thus, Warcampaign uber-sped 'Pan Boy' got in a spat with Crypto over the last split.
I gather that Crypto sided with Jon Del Aroz. JDA had threatened or implied that he'd be happy to use indigogo customer information to dox comicsgaters and Crypto implied he'd be happy to be a conduit for that. So all this stems from the JDA and Warcampaign feud.
Pan Boy threatened to call around and punch Crypto IRL to which Crypto responded with a video waving a couple of guns around and essentially telling him that would be a bad idea.

After Handyman got refused, Nassar boycotted Indiecron and didn't submit his new book to the site. Fair enough, that was his principled stand and he didn't make a big deal of it.
Doug however weighed in like a bull in a china shop and started shrieking SJW at everybody. Hollaring and beating his chest about loyalty and really laid into the Indiecron guys. Doug's attitude was that Ashworth was being attacked using guilt by association, which is a fair point, but it's not like the guys running the site have any obligation to platform somebody they don't like.
Doug really had a meltdown, climbed up on his cross and declared martyrdom for Ashworth and everybody that didn't support him heretical, which seems to have led some of those involved in the site to leave and Edwin Boyette has taken over managing the site.
Now Doug's in comicgate timeout while Ethan tries to work out how to rehab his image.

Reasonable Jon Malin goes through it with this stream:

More shit

So a bunch of retards being retarded. Anyone who associates with WC, especially Crypto, are just retarded. It's funny how when people say "EVS doesn't owe anyone a place on this channel!" it's ok but "Indiecron needs to list everyone!" starts WW3. What a joke. It's no surprise that Doug jumped up on the cross. He does that with every opportunity. Nasser should know to stay out of it, though. I saw the Detective Dead guy play the middle ground, which is the smart thing to do.
