I think Ya Boi Zack said Goddess Mode was a good story with shit presentation. My interest is piqued.

I think he bends over backwards to be charitable and fair to people who don't appreciate it and certainly don't deserve it. Everything I've seen from it is hot garbage.

I never seriously read it but from what I've seen, it looks like Quinn's take on the Matrix.

There are loads of fanfic autists who have thrown a shitty Mary Sue into the Matrix. The only difference is how many cocks they sucked and who was attached to the cocks.

IIRC he was okay with the storyline but loathed both the characters and the dialog. As in the Zoe Quinn self-insert was a complete Mary Sue who spoke like an SJW tweets.
Self insert Mary Sues? From women in comics? Perish the thought.

This used to be standard practice according to Zack and EVS. Good comic in front, complete utter trash in the middle, and then an ok book in the back. Used to boost sales of trash comics. I'm not surprised since Marvel is already cooking the books in every legal manner as it is...
One time I bought 4 mystery packets and ended up with 4 or 5 copies of the same shitty Youngblood issue. It may have been the back AND middle of one.

God, think of how many gay Iceman alternate covers they can wedge in there today.

I love Zack but he's got a few foibles. One of them being that I think he believes that if he throws the other side a bone every once in a while, is kind to the shit they produce, they'll suddenly stop wanting to see him set on fire inside an ISIS cage.

Ever self aware, I think he even acknowledged this in a video. He admitted he was going through a weird time and I believe called out himself for giving GM 1 a good review.

Well, it's not that hard to look at something and try and find SOMETHING redeeming about it. Even horse shit can be used to fertilize fields. I'm sure there's something interesting in Goddess Mode; I just don't have the time or inclination to sift it like a conspiracy theorist examining the Zapruder film.

I was trying to figure out how this squares with the text-message caps of Waid and the AP guy. Then I realized I wasn't reading the questions properly.

That last question is important because it's a smokescreen. Waid didn't come in and shut down Antarctic Press physically, or even send 'some guys' around to discourage them. All he did was call AP (which they importantly DID NOT ASK).

I know Ya Boi prefaced what he had to say about the lawsuit with advice from his lawyer that if he had to, just don't say anything you wouldn't say to a judge. And he sounded honest and factual, never trying to spin anything.

But Waid... how the fuck does this get past his lawyer? It comes across like such a desperate attempt to hold together a crumbling narrative. Now I'm practically convinced he's being milked by his representation and is too socially justice stupid to realize it. While Mark Waid rambles about how this is about protecting all those poor oppressed people, Mark Zaid is thinking about how nice that 8.5 CGC Golden Age book up for auction next month is going to look in his collection display.

I didn't follow this thing closely so likely I don't understand something, but isn't AP saying under oath that Waid didn't force them to cancel the book makes entire thing void?

No. Waid doesn’t have to put a gun to their head or threaten or anything. He just has to interfere maliciously in a contract he is not party to in any way.
