Some faggot at a con has contacted the police over a hand symbol...

I’m gonna contact @heroesonline security, so there’s a record of my concern. I’ve been looking forward to this con, and our queer comics panel had a great reception earlier. This whole experience has been disappointing.

Talked to @heroesonline security, who told me to talk to the police, who told me to talk to the event staff. I sent an e-mail, but it's Saturday in the middle of a con so I doubt they'll be quick to respond. Gonna try to have a relaxing night. Look out for each other tomorrow!

Update: The con e-mailed me and we’re figuring out a path forward. it’s a difficult thing to police, but I’m confident they will try their best. This is part of a larger problem of people being more comfortable with hateful and harassing behavior. I don’t feel very safe here.

You can just throw the tweet chain url into http://archive.li/

Also, Zynga and Telltale. This guy's a real winner.

"Never up to any good," but freaked out by a bunch of nerds flashing "okay" signs at each other. I think this dude's idea of rebellion is listening to Green Day on his iPhone 10.

If you’re using a desktop, either use the snipping tool or get a screenshot extension for your browser:

Ok, I’ve been thinking that Civil War would be dumb for many reasons but fucking hell now I want it. Look how easy it would be to win, just do the goose step while holding out the OK hand symbol:

Did this actually happen and how sincere are their reactions? I mean are they truly freaking out over nothing or, are they doing some sort of virtue signaling here?
To me, it sounds more like they're faking it from the beginning. This guy wouldn't have noticed anyone making "okay" signs unless he already knew about it. It just seems so unrealistic for them to react in this manner.

Cons should ban weird lunatics like this who gangstalk people with bizarre accusations about crazy stuff.

In comics, does "editor" generally mean someone who literally edits the text? Or is it like, a film director or show runner, for want of better comparisons?

These days it seems to mean completely fucks up every intellectual property you own while talking shit to your customers on twitter and endorsing the insanity of constantly banned orcas who harass and abuse your customers as well.

If the editor is doing what they're supposed to do, yeah they're basically a director of sorts and they hopefully make sure the comic isn't trash. Tightening up the writing, keeping characters consistent, making sure the art doesn't look like shit, and yeah checking spelling.

This convention and signaling of hateful "OK"s is happening hours from where I live. I wish I didn't have work as I would be there promoting my White Power hate.

and an assistant editor is the cum-dumpster.

Zack's hard-on for Sean Gordon Murphy is getting to be pretty fucking embarassing. Batman: White Knight was okay, but Murphy could have definitely used a co-writer to help with plot structure and punch up the dialogue.

In theory they’re supposed to function like a publishing editor where they follow the comic writing/drawing progress step-by-step to give feedback, make corrections, ask questions that they think the average reader will have, and slap the pen out of someone’s hand if the writer wants to put in something especially stupid. In practice they can range from being either backseat writers who supplant the creative teams’ pitches with their own terrible ideas, or some nepotism hire more interested in kissing ass over doing their jobs.

Which is a shame since an editor is an essential role and there’s some good stories that have made great by being put in the hands of an intelligent editor who takes their job seriously, but these days people see it more as a stepping-stone position or a stick in the mud job.

There was this comic writer who was of Polish American ancestry who went under a Japanese penname and apparently it was “problematic” that he was “masquerading” as an “Asian” but no one seems to give a shit when “ethnic” writers adopt English first and last names.

I don’t remember his name but IIRC the writer said he spent several years growing up/living in Japan and by that fact alone he’s probably spent more time in Asia then most of the “Asian Americans” I saw complaining.

Oh yeah, the great fake hope that made the boomers who still read/collect comics feel hope that he'd be able to slap in Marvel's insanity.

lolno he cucked out.

Listening to @FROG's latest live stream. He and Ya Boi are talking about the very predictable pattern of stalkers. Zack put it great, he said the life cycle is:

I like you
I'm obsessed with you
You disappoint me or spurn me in some way
I just discovered you've been evil the entire time and you were tricking me. Now it's time for me to punish and destroy you.

This blew Ethan's mind and he TOTALLY agreed and recognized the pattern in his past stalkers. So....Frogman, you don't see that coming with WC? Right now they are at step 2.
I never bothered to look into LNC's history too much, but I thought at one point he was considered "Comicsgate". Is it possible this describes him, too? If so obviously he is in the sad throes of that last step - calling a guy who is getting close to having a $1 million crowdfunding year a "faggot" every other day here and probably on Twitter.

Petition to call this man from now on Onionman, because that is what his surname means in Polish.

Also "cebula" is a name used to describe person who is secon-hand embarrassing due to their petty behavior, like small-mindness and lack of cultural awarness or plain stupidity, who tries to show off but is just too lacking, who is just embarrasment to whole Polish proud nation, especialy abroad. Kinda fits.

ETA: in case you really forgot the name, it was CB Cebulski, currwnt Marvel Editor in Cgief or whatevs his tirle is. Total cebula.

How detailed does the penciling have to be? I want to write a comic but I can't draw; I'm also a control freak. If I roughly and lightly sketch out how I want each frame to look, would an artist go over them and make it look good? Or would most pass on a project where they have so little creative input?

Nothing we tell you will be correct, only particular artist can answer that question so talk to them. The thing is- if you can't draw in general the layouts you provide will always be subpar to what actual artist can do and quality will suffer due to you being anal. But as a starting point for artist, stick figures layouts are ok. But if you're really that controlling, stop thinking about collaborating, because it's really shitty to work with writers like that (unless they pay for the pain in the ass they create) and get to those how to draw books.
