I'd really like to hear how he got involved with some of them, like with FUBAR.

So basically even the original complaint about YaBoi, that he never wrote or created anything, was absolute, utter bullshit. He actually had created and written.

It's hard to imagine a more sympathetic story than YBZ considering the sheer level of vitriol and insanity dumped on him by vermin like Mark Waid. They attacked and insulted him for not being a creator himself, a false accusation at the start, then when he did create, formed a lynch mob to burn his book.

Its also a great scam for Shelly Roeberg because, let's be honest here, as an editor she has no bankable talent. Pocketing the miscellaneous expenses on this project is probably the best payday she can expect from a Kickstarter.

My guess is that with this percentage it's likely the misrepresentation- as in they only calculated those for the base goal and presented them as pie chart, because why not. And making a pie chart for every tier would be weird, because how do you explain why printing is only 15% at 40k ? They should just drop the charts altogether, trying to be honest about expenses is better left to tax office and accountant.

I don't believe for a moment that nobodies will get more than 50usd per page, as it is standard rate for those anthologies (source- I've done a few and've been roasted by associations by every pro CGator). It's also very standard that writers search for artists and offer at least 90% of the rate to the artist. 50 usd is such a lowball for art that nobody wants to really do anything good below that (and all the Liana Kangases of the world are born- as she has no standard for her artwork so she works for peanuts, is my guess).

My best guess is that the Big Names [tm] got some deal for good page rate and promotion of the book - I've seen Cloonan and deConnick post quite a few ads for this. The rest gets peanuts, just smaller or bigger pack depending where they stand with their career.

BTW, I kinda think it would work so much better as an anthology if they had pro writers scripting for actual "amateur" artists as a way to search new talents. I'd fit the title better and might not be as missing the mark with branding.

Yeah, I don't think creators need to justify what they're asking for - saying "I want $30 for this trade-length comic I made by myself/with my team" is fine, I don't care where the money is specifically going. YBZ said in a different video, the SJWs feel the need to explain why they're asking for the price they are, and make it look like no-one's making money.

I honestly don't care whether or not they make money,I wouldn't care if YBZ made up a bunch of names for people he was paying to make his company look more professional, and secretly did it all himself while pocketing 5 people's wages.

I think you and @annnanovichova are right with your assessments regarding resume padding and pay rates. IDK 90% of these people or their positions, but lets say there are 10 artists/colourists getting 1k each that leaves 40 people $6500 (equal split $162.5). It's all just guess work on my end and probably not split that way, and while that amount is above typical page rates, it's still a pittance.
