If these are the true percentages for expenses and everything goes to plan and Misc. costs are $0 the book creator is walking away with $8k and contributors $330. These people hate money.
330 for a page rate if your having them billed out as Penciler, Inker, Writer, etc might maybe make some sense.

But straight art thats high

i found some cringe
enjoy
it's just him chanting over and over again how people he disagrees with "just don't like a character because there female or a minority" with no real evidence

Not necessarily comics related, but you think that Marvel's going to de-emphasize the Spiderman comics they made because Sony decided to tell Disney to fuck off with the IP they still have?

I'm just curious because the last time something like that happened they did shit like push the Inhumans and killed off the FF4.

It's such petty bullshit.
It's like they want to NOT make money.
"Remember [insert Marvel Superhero that has a film]? Well, here's the comic that they are from! You can get in physical or digital form! Be sure to check our online shop for some sweet Merch, too!"
How hard is that, Marvel?
Sure, you don't have the film rights, but you have everything else at your disposal.
Yet, you settle for "cutting the nose off to spite the face."
It's what killed Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite.

They might, but I doubt it. Spider-Man pulls in too much for Marvel to do what they did to the FF4.

Marvel/Disney would have a tough time doing it.

Unlike other IP licenses (X-Men, Fantastic Four, etc.), Sony bought co-ownership of the Spider-Man (and associated IP) in the '98 deal. Some aspects of the deal were clarified or reworked after the Disney purchase of Marvel, and when they struck the deal for Spider-Man to be brought into the MCU some further tinkering was done, but at the heart of the it all Sony owns half the rights to Spider-Man so Marvel has to run things by Sony before they can make drastic/permanent changes to the character or associated IP. For example when Marvel made Spider-Gwen, Sony had to approve it, and she automatically became part of the associated IP which Sony has the rights to use, such as her inclusion in "Into the Spiderverse".

If you want me to break things down further or go into detail, I can but I think that is enough for now.

DC has finally awaken. DC women of action!

“50+ profiles of female characters and women behind the scenes, plus lots of new art and interviews from women and non-binary creators”.

Because we all know how great are Marvel's all women initiatives....

BTW, can anyone of you explain, what is it about Jen Bartel's art that is so well liked? I can't look at it without cringe, because IMO she's prime example of an artist who has little observational and analytical skills, but a lot of perseverance- which only means the more detailed her work gets, it looks that tiny bit off that makes it stiff and makes it look uncomfortable or wrong. Prime example of uncanney valley of art skills.

Eta.
I haven't seen anything feom my fave Let's Unionize comics statistician and oh, geez, 🤣🤣🤣

Cross-posting this from the Weeb Wars subforum,

The Orca, Fake Holiday, and Tim Doyle are involved in this article.

Three more reasons to discard it without reading.

The simple and clear answer is people don't care. She doesn't put the characters in any complicated perspectives or positions where the stiffness is a big deal so people don't notice. I'm sure if she were to animate, it would be like 80's He-Man level stuff, but she illustrates and it works for what she does.

edit: also pretty colors. a e s t h e t i c

Patrick Gleason, in 1 page, has done more right by Captain America than the gaggle of morons that have been writing him for almost a decade:

I think it's from Akira Yoshida's totally brilliant OC Marvel #1000. I wonder how long until the usual speds start spinning their heads over people being *gasp* patriotic in a Captain America story, God knows Waid tried to fuck it up.

Huh.

Mr. H Reviews covered and interesting article here:

Could it be that the sudden reversal of woke Marvel is down to the Trump donating, hard nosed old school Israeli, no shit-taking Pearlmutter?
If the article is to be believed he's the one that kicked Waid's diatribe in Marvel 1000 into touch and he's stepping up after he apparently stepped away from decision making in regards Marvel properties in 2015 (right around when Marvel really went off the rails).

From WIki:
A person with knowledge of his creative approach said, "Ike Perlmutter neither discriminates nor cares about diversity, he just cares about what he thinks will make money." Jeph Loeb, who oversees Marvel Television and the television properties of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, still reports to Perlmutter.

So what the fuck has he been in, some kind of coma for the last three years? Seems to have been super lazy for a supposedly hard-nosed business-oriented Jew, frankly, to let things go to absolute shit and only step in when the place is literally burning to the ground, then take charge in a dumb counterproductive way.

Maybe he's senile and should retire.

Not the first time, Jim Shooter had to tardrangle Marvel from failure in the 80s too.

Hope Ike's up to the task if true.

Part of me hopes he continues to do nothing. Marvel Comics' constant failures are funny to watch. He can just ride into the sunset getting paid and claim he had no idea or that he had no actual power. If he's trying to do stuff now it begs the question: "where the fuck has he been" and paints him as an asleep-at-the-wheel dolt like you say. This could explain the exodus of Marvel contractors to DC.

Wait a minute... 🤔

The failures have allowed many people to start new businesses in independent comics. Perlmutter would be destroying jobs if he reigned in Marvel now. Perlmutter must be stopped!
