Lol. What shitty sojus comercial has to do with working environment in ad agency? You really think that all people hired there didn't compete to be chosen as the best to lead the account even if the brief was absolutely stupid? Just because the comercial is epitome of stupidity doesn't mean that pepple involved with it didn't hate make it. You don't know, you weren't there.

Thanks for confirmation that you seriously have no clue about freelance/creative work and what goes with clients in those situations. And you come here talking about some imaginary unwritten moral codes between comic book creatives when you only know it from low tiers on social media. I am having a giggle, I am.

Freelance work is highly competitive, mate, no doubt about it. Ask anyone who is actually successful with it.
While I kinda want to keep it stringing along, any more would probably become a supertard fight. So I guess I'll effortpost.

I worked as a comics writer, key animator (we all know the title is animator, but the fucking job is just actually inbetweener), 3d animator, games designer. So, most of my working life, I have been surrounded by artists.

The only real fight I ever had with artists was when I working with comics, but that was mostly because of my opinion that the artists should respect the company's money. that was it. so, yeah I was the "that fucking guy" in comics

when i was working in animation, we would pool money with other animators and buy animation books from Japan, like those fire effects how to book (seriously, handdrawn fx animation is a dying art) and xerox it (back when xeroxing books was still legal) to share it with everybody, we would swap scenes to animate, our fights would mainly consist of fighting over the perfect boobs size and shape.

I would go to the parties that Autodesk will throw when they release the newest 3dsmax/maya (back when they still throw parties, I miss eating free at Hard Rock cafe) and meet with various artists from different companies. we would discuss our techniques and process in our own workflow. we would discuss the latest aftereffects fads that you see in commercials (like that fucking anime sparks) and discuss our own way on how to do it.

When I was working for a certain french video games company, get this, it will blow your mind, people from different companies would visit and study the company's workflow and process. artists from other video game companies would come and give lectures on the process they made on their latest video games. The company would throw a party where it would invite different companies and artists would come, and we would show them the games we are working on, let them play it (just not showing the code, that is confidential). When the party is going, we would discuss the latest trend in video games,, our own little personal 3d project or video games, gush over how Xrd achieved that anime look (animating the shader normals? what a fucking madman!) and more stuff.

Never in my entire working life, working with artists, that we have to "compete" with each other to "improve". In fact, most of the time, we would help each other to improve. Even when with other competing companies, we have professional courtesy with each other, after all, its just business. artists help each other to improve because of the "we are all in this fucking shit together" feeling

So, yeah, this Meyer guy that encourages artists to "compete" with each other really doesn't know anything. Researching his history, he kinda spent his adult life trying to get inside the comics industry, but I guess his values doesn't really gel with artists, that's why he's kinda an outsider. And with his own admission that he is having difficulties in finding artists for his next book, maybe his personality turns off artists, I mean, why not just hire the people who worked on his previous comics again?

So, yup, unless I'm isekai'd into another Earth or timeline where artists "compete" with other to improve, the only people that wants or needs to "compete" with each other to improve are the "that fucking guy" (wait, Gundam Extreme VS Maxiboost On was just announced to be ported for PS4, I guess, I'm isekai'd after all)

TL;DR: Artists help each other, never compete with each other, otherwise there wouldn't be "how to art" books, because artists would hoard their knowledge to one up over their competitors.

As for your situation, I don't know, maybe have some self-introspection, maybe you're a "that fucking guy"

Has anyone actually received the missing Cyberfrog Ashcan yet?

I was told yesterday that shipping of AMPHIBIONIX ashcans is complete. I didn't see it, or participate in it though, so I'm watching Twitter to see proof of that. Let me know if you get yours, please.

@FROG Just received my Line-Art version of Cyberfrog. I hope the ink doesn't bleed over time.

I'm not sure about ink bleeding over time. It's a normal comic book that a lot of spergs sperged out over, trying to discourage customers from supporting it. I hope you enjoy it!

To be fair, a few hundred people could literally double Mag's monthly sales.

LOL. Mag's recent book "Marilyn Manor" got cancelled before the first issue hit the stands. I checked it out on Readcomiconline.to, and it's just a terrible mishmash of what Tumblerinas think is "edgy" and "kewl".

I actually just got mine on Friday, I'm debating on even opening it yet. I haven't kept up with the drama for about 6 months, is the main Cyberfrog comic even good?

Mags was five years too late for the 80s retro/punk revival.

Its funny. Growing up I thought Scooby Doo was ancient even though most of the episodes in syndication were only 15-20 years old. Meanwhile, 90% of Mags' comics are using an aesthetic that's 40 fucking years old. Who is the target audience for this shit? Kids today don't want to read about 80s shit just like I didn't want to watch a cartoon from the 60s when I was a kid.

Like most troons, Brian is in a state of emotional and intellectual arrested development and just sticks to whatever he's known since he was a teenager.

It's fine. The art looks amazing, but I think EVS takes a bit too much time summarizing the story from 90's and by the time he gets too the new stuff, the book is basically done and it felt like I was missing pages near the end from the abrupt ending. So yeah, I felt it had some pacing issues, but overall it's a decent comic

In today's wpisode of stay mad, internet, Jen confuses Sean. It's super effective!

In other news, let's go back to time honoured tradition of burning books!

Spoiler: It's not.

Yep, that's WC for you. They really need an off switch. That's not how you entice fans of Vertigo to you

He also said he prefers to hire people that are easy to work with. I don't get why you and huck conflate being competitive with being an asshole.

Did they post bad pornographic photo edits? He can be both. He's Jim shooter except shorter and less talented.

So apparently YellowFlash got drunk on stream again last night and things got pretty spicy. I haven't been able to find a copy of the stream or any summaries fo what was said, but I did find this one clip where he manages to piss off Cecil because YF kept interrupting him.

If anyone has anything more substantial, please share. I shouldn't care about this base goss shit but I do.

Ethan was playing a clip of YF having a meltdown on his livestream a few hours ago. It was funny he just kept going on and on about someone using their real name on twitter. Normally someone would get gassed and realized they sound like an idiot but he just kept getting more and more pissed.

He is a sperg among spergs. I guess the Vic thing is dying down and now he's back with the comic book nerds.

Welp, CG's a flaming shithole. Today is new comic book day. All these channels, supposedly about comics.

Its new comic day, so he's retro reviewing a comic from the 90's? How can he not get this, there are a thousand wannabe clowns reviewing old comics.

TUG and YellowFlash are all over the place, now that animegate has died down. Videos on everything from gas station pumps to 1917 the movie in just two days. Just not actual published comics.

EVS had two snore streams. One complaining about Miller, what is this his 50th bitch stream in three months? Then something about Cecil being in trouble with indiegogo.

Not allot of discussion of actual comics.

Despite his love of the medium, Zack has a very narrow taste in comics and generally seems to do as he pleases, so him having a weird upload schedule isn’t particularly strange. He also takes his work on his indie comics pretty seriously so I wouldn’t be surprised if days where uploads were slow happened to be ones on which he was writing or communicating with collaborators.

TUG and YF are desperate clout-chasers. Now that the autistic anime slapfighting has died down, they’re going to latch onto fucking anything that might get clicks.

Why do I have this nagging feeling that Cecil is being sacrificed/sabotaged by WC just so that EVS et. al. have something to complain about?

That's would be the gayest of gay ops. But if Cecil was railroaded, he'd be fine. He may actually remove his head from EVS ass.

He's definitely not a "normie." But this isn't a case of too much to do. I watched his subsequent video because it wasn't a shitty retro review.

He basically admits he didn't like anything solicited. We don't want him to review 'good' comics. We want him to review bad or lazy comics. This week there were a bunch. Aaron's horrible Avengers run, Snyder and Tynion ending their JL boondoggle, even a Captain Marvel book by Thompson. If he insists on reviewing 'good' books Grant Morrison just wrapped up his first season on GL and it was amazing.

One thought, If he did try for the Joe rights, he ought to get them. Lifelong fan, Marine, with a big stable of talent. Would Hama block him?

Looks like it's from the whiny faggot @PocketJacks still arse mad that nobody gives two shits about him or his ideas.
