Moving past the unrelated, if expected, exceptionalism that follows Anna That Star Wars Girl around, it sounds like the more fanatical members of WC are starting to groan at the idea of backing Anna's tentative toedipping into the indy comic book scene. Even guys who fund everything CG like Jack Straw are kvetching at the prospective of being asked to pay $25 buckaroos for a DeviantArt-tier Bruce Timm knockoff by some femo*id who doesn't even hail warcampaign. The nerve.

This is putting Cecil, a noted moron who has regularly questioned the loyalty of countless others himself as well as cheerleaded the ejection of differing groups on the basis political grounds "like" some fat gay untalented degenerate retarded commissar rolling around in a red romper suit, into a reversal of roles because Anna has benefited him personally, that the rest of the community should reciprocate this because... reasons. Watching Cecil's crippled brain fend off accusations of simpdom while trying to work his way through the inherent flaws of centering a movement on a subjective quality like personal loyalty, against Warcampaigners who actually hold the same values that he does, has been great fun.

So far, he's turning towards magic-based reasoning as to why people should buy Anna's product.

What's the deal with Anna, she always seemed a bit dozy with her head up in the clouds but has she done any milk-able things?

I don't really follow the Fandom Menace thing so I couldn't say. Anna from what little I've seen seems very down to earth and not really inclined to waste her time on internet slapfights over her building a brand following outrage trends.

What happened?

So i guess since frog supports war campaign he supports this.

Wow, that's some next level autism. This is all about arguing whose first in the sperg hierarchy.

The warcampaign are the Italians in WWII. with friends like these.

Heil CG bruders!

She doesn't even know the smaller creators names!!!!!!

This rather telling statement suggests to me that we're looking the same old gripes that that precipitated the first CG split.
Namely, burning jelously directed at those with access to promote on the big shows from those superchatting two bucks worths of 'buy my book!' for the attention they feel entitled to.
As more pro's trickle into comicsgate after the industry dumps half of them into unemployment, you have to wonder if the same old wounds are going to tear wide open as the small fish get starved of exposure.
Anna's not terribly bright, but she's worked hard for the profile she has. That cover is fucking awful though.

It's not the same! I'm not angry myself. Fans are angry on mine and Art's behalf because we are both promoting alt covers right now. I've done what I can to defuse the situation.

This campaign will reach close to $10M, I predict. These indie action figure guys make 7 figures routinely on Kickstarter, and Todd is the king of this shit. I backed at the highest tier. It's historic.

No, this is apples and oranges to Earthworm Jim and CyberFrog. I definitely think that if Todd wrote and drew a comic and crowdfunded it, he'd kick our asses, but this ain't that.

There is no way that is gonna hit 10 million. Are you high? Todd Macfarlane isn't really a name people give a shit about anymore let alone Spawn. It isn't the mid 90's anymore.

Spawn has fizzled. Maybe if he did this with the relaunch of a Spawn series or movie. It might hit a few million, but 10.... Never.

i don’t know about that... it’s been two days and it‘s almost at a million.

People give so less of a shit about him he made almost $1,000,000 in 24 hours. The guy didn't just do Spawn. He did the movie maniacs toys, created Venom. Guy's probably not going to hit 10,000,000, but he's still one of the most successful creators there's ever been.

"He's washed up and only made a million bucks" they say.

Know who isn't going to make a million?

I'll give you a hint.....

Oh there's more motivation behind it than mere jealousy.

When you sell a group on the idea of "Comicsgate as a lifeboat to escape the sinking comic book industry", it's not surprising that some people follow that analogy through when you start giving a non-Comicsgate person a seat of limited lifeboat space along with precious rations/funding. There's also the unspoken, lingering ill will over the Fandom Menace crowd despising WC after Ro's ill-considered comments on Anna's missing/dead sister, leading to Jeremy from Geeks and Gamers to disavow CG and talk lots of shit about "burying Warcampaign". I can't imagine they're in a big hurry to dredge that up again and would prefer to stick to complaints about spelling Ethan's name wrong as a pretext for their attack.

But you're not wrong about the problem that's going to happen if pros start flocking to CG. The bigger a group gets, the less effective "personal loyalty" networks get, for reasons Cecil did an unintentionally brilliant job in demonstrating - you can't build a personal relationship with everyone in a group once it reaches a certain size. Some people will have relations with others within the group, but no one person could manage all of them and the organization would just break off into more manageable and internally consistent schisms. As Comicsgate has done and will likely continue to do into the future.

That number is somewhere around 110-120 individuals, and in my opinion is based n the limits of human cognition. This is also a recognized hard limit in the corporate world, which when they reach that number either expand massively when they're able to systematize their power structure, or collapse due to internal incoherence due to an inability to organize on a level beyond personal relations.

I'd stay away if i was him. He'll get purity tested and asked if spawn is homophobic if he can't call spawn a cg property.

Honestly someone in the caliber of tom shouldn't even entertain the thought of joining this shitshow.

Hey Whimsy looks like we're going to find out if Todd McFarlane will be purity tested and if Spawn is woke on the GQ, courtesy of Dan Fraga.

You could argue that Spawn has already gone woke. In the last twenty issues we’ve seen left-wing opinions portrayed as level-headed and intellectual, while right-wing opinions have been portrayed as reactionary and over the top. Spawn makes a personal trip to the white house to berate Donald Trump to his face and there’s a lot of Bernie Sanders-esque hemming and hawing about the wealthy and the elites controlling the world.

It continues to sell because people like Todd, Spawn is still a name in comics and there’s a lot of good action and horror stuff in there despite all the political bs. It’s nowhere as good as it was in the 90’s (Todd is editing himself, quite poorly at that), but it’s still many steps above most of the wokeshit clogging store shelves right now.

Hmm, whimsy is a cool nickname, i like it. I don't think spawn would be woke if the book is just a remaster of a original issue with a toy attached to it. But time will tell.

April 2020: Todd Mcfarlane joins comicsgate.

"Oh yeah, baby, that's right, The Toddfather IS officially comicsgate. Join. This. Movement ladies and gentlemen--comicsgate, baby, this is where it's at."

May 2020: Todd supplants EVS as the preeminent figure in CG. Sees that "Comicsgate" is already trademarked but uses his 20 + years of legal savvy to register the term "Comixgate."

January 2021: Comixgate has taken the world by storm. The audience has grown 100 times in size. Movie deals. Television shows. Mainstream success.

"He stole the movement from me. Everything I've created, everything I've built. Backstabbed. Everywhere I look--backstabbers."

I don't know if you can say Todd McFarlane isn't a name people give a shit about. Him and Spawn come up regularly enough in the real life and internet circles I hang around. A toy store owner I personally know is a big Spawn fan. In fact, just 5 years ago, Spawn was the talk of the week in our classes when I went back to take a short course for a job. He's still pretty relevant, even if he hasn't made big moves to fully immortalize himself.

A lot of my normies friend have voiced their opinion of wanting to see more of Spawn in a video game or a movie. Even normies are exhausted with Marvel and DC and are looking towards other shit.

10 Million is probably farfetched though.

Don't know if this was posted yet but lordy lordy this is some top notch autistic investigative journalism.

EVS, since being caught, is now offering refunds for anyone who asks for one.
