Don't really need to, he's only got 640 dollars. Biggest deal is the font. Frog has to complain because JDA is a dumbass that doesn't understand you have to actually make more than just the name different.

I expected better from Malin, at least, I wanted him to be better. Personally, I don't get the whole problem with Anna, these idiots saying "she works with Dynamite" immediately forget Ethan has three fucking covers for them plus more. Malin and Cecil have backed and supported more smaller creators than Ethan, and when Anna had her first attempt at doing something CG related, everyone hoots and hollers like chimps when they promote her. WC really are fucking toxic, and no matter how bad it gets, certain someones will cry "neutral" but remain "loyal" just close yours eyes and ears and everything will get better.

The cover looks bad. She should have stuck to her photorealism artwork because they aren't that bad, but compared to the thing she decided to put out? It was a swing and a miss, she should have asked for help and come up with something people other than simps will actually like and want to back. But, of course Malin and Cecil and Kelsey are going to support their friend. The people acting like they shouldn't are retarded.

Malin and Cecil should have known better than to sperg out like they did, but all this does is show everyone their colors, what was hiding underneath. Their real enemies are themselves.

Be damn careful around short people, as they are often raging sociopaths. They will sit at your table, eat your food, laugh at your jokes, and be there for both weddings and funerals, but the moment you expose your back, they will plunge the knife in as deep as it will possibly go. Every short person I once called a friend has ended in disaster for myself due to their latent Napoleon Complexes and my willingness to give people the benefit of the doubt.

I've prided myself for not being a bigot, racist, or anything similar, but life throws at your certain patterns that you'd be foolish to ignore.

I'm pretty sure the private twitter exchange between Malin and Cacy is what set malin off. Cacy said something along the line of just enjoying the attraction and Malin took that as him looking like a side show entertainment to Cacy. I can't fault Malin, he promoted Cacy's book a lot and when he talks to him flippantly and dimissive it's a bit frustrating (especially with cabin fever).
 
Ethan is really beginning to descend into hucksterism here. I know he always says that the number one goal in comic is to make money but when that becomes your chief overriding concern then you just become a shady flim-flam man hawking Ribbit Coins and other overpriced garbage. He needs to concentrate on the comics and the money will take care of itself.

Honestly it seems that the comics industry is filled with nothing but speds, inside and outside of CG - it's shocking how unprofessional and volatile these people are. Ya Boi Zack is the only one that can seem to keep his head.

EVS has been right about the mainstream comic book industry.

That being said, I don't think that crowdfunding can "save it", either.

All due respect and serious hats off to the guys who've hit high 5 and 6 figures, but being completely honest, but those guys are few and far between, and selling to 5.5k people for 600 grand total does not seem like a wholly sustainable model. The mass market (insofar as print media goes) just isn't going to buy comics at the average cost of 100+ bucks.

EVS has talked about getting their books on store shelves before, so I'm not accusing anyone of myopia. But I can't be the only one thinking that eventually, some type of corporate involvement will be "required" if we speak of making comics actually mainstream?

EVS has repeated multiple times that he's not aiming to save the mainstream comic book industry. Even Zack has admitted that it's too late at this point.

I agree with EVS's statements concerning the JK Rowling model. I'd call the GRRM model, if I wanted to talk about modern success.

Eh, I don't see that that makes him a "psycho", at worst that's just a bad take. He has plenty of them. So what?

The thing is he's been able to keep his head in the game and seems to have a plan that isn't overambitious.

But if CG creators are going to have long term success they're going to have to move away from sole reliance on crowdfunding and work on refining their concepts/stories.

Now to look at some comparisons
Rekt Planet (30day)

Rekt planet is much more heavily front loaded than the Bloodhoney campaign making the graph look skewed, he brought in 8K more on the last day than bloodhoney. However he also had half as many backers (665 to ~358 ), how much this is due to bloodhoney being originally touted as a 30day campaign before being extended and Rekt planet being 60days is yet to be seen. As of right now he is ~800 backers down from the prior campaigns 30 day period and will need 3362 more backers to tie with Bloodhoney at ~112 per day. This might happen, but if it follows the bloodhoney trend this will be very hard to pull off. The biggest increase is that the paypiggies have been milked for twice the pledge ($62 to $116).

That's actually a fair comparison, considering the time between releases (novellas and other projects excluded).

As for ComicsGate adopting that model, I think it would piss people off in the end.
 
Some of the retards on Twitter are really pulling a page out of Kelly Sue Deconick's book with the whole "don't like, don't buy it" with Anna's cover.

Didn't Richard say something to never say shit like that? And to take criticisms where valid? "Speak one thing, do another" is really the comicsgate motto at this point.
