why does this kinda shit always happen.
Competition for a shrinking audience and therefore money piggies.
The best part is this is actually the best time possible to do this, since the mainstream comics are all fucked from the Wuhan Flu. But nope, they choose to implode because it's apparently too hard to be a big boy and leave twitter and not waste time on gay ops.
Froggy could be on his 4th 600k+ crowdfund by now if he simply got his fat arse to work, and that's before adding in multiple 100k variant covers. Instead it's all about owning the SJW and making 50k/year youtube buckeroos.
I would not be surprised to find out his lawsuit gofundme was seized by the gov to pay child support for his dozen multi-ethnic spawn
Zack seems like a good dad, he was ahead in child support when Tim Doyle tried to claim his broke arse was behind and he somehow won custody of his eldest son, which is all but a miracle in the female centric divorce courts.

Zack's comics, EVS' comics, Mike S. Miller's comics, Malin's, Curtis', Breitweiser, all of them, are what shit would be like if you shit out comics. They are something the creators put out, like a turd. They wanted to eat money. Did a campaign to get money. Ate the money, shit out the comic. That's why they're late and their comics suck! No one wants to take a shit until you have to shit. Those guys don't want to sit and draw. They dread it. But eventually they have to so they sit down and try to get it over and be done with it.

An apt comparison. I agree that the former pros who have come in lack the productivity and inspiration to do more than shit out unimpressive books that read like C grade stuff from Marvel or DC. They are doing their own thing but it still reads like uninspired work for hire. Zack has not the skill and EVS and the rest have not the will.

There are exceptions though. Some people who were thrown out or pushed out or simply quietly walked away are doing decent (not world shattering) work and being productive. Tim Lim and Pellegrini tell competent fun stories with real appeal. Reading Tennaples work you understand why most of his graphic novels get optioned for the screen. And Doug Ernst who put together a first effort that showed maturity and a skill set that Meyer simply does not have.

None of these guys were mainstream big two guys. All of them have developed the skills to do good work through careers working outside the big 2 cape shit sausage factory.

The difference between the Tennaples Lims and Ernsts and the Scivers, Breitweisers and Malins is the former make comics they desperately want to make and the latter make comics they desperately want to make money.

The reason Tennaple and Lim put out way more pages than their CG counterparts is because they actually still want to create comics. They are excited about it. They would still be doing comics if they made no money from it.

The other guys just want to make money (and who can blame them) and see crowd funding as the vessel. Once the money is made they have to push out a book whether they want to or not. It is just a job. But there is no editor calling them asking where their pages are.

No wonder they are all late.

If these guys could make as much on commissions as crowdfunding we would never see another book out of them.

Meyer seems like the only one still in the club with the will. With work maybe he will eventually develop the skill.

I'll see what I can do, but cannot guarantee it is still on YT

Anyone has any idea about Zack's fanbase? Maybe completely distancing from CG would be disastrous for him? I mean, his work is average at best, I feel like people paying big money for his stuff are ideologically motivated at least to some extent. I could see it for his first project or second because you are still not sure what is happening here, but now? I think that you are either thinking that you are "fighting SJWs" by donating big money to him or he himself has a cult of personality.
Hard to say, he is already taking a slight hit because autists suddenly want to make a big deal of him working with someone that's he been with for 4 years, but I'd say most of the people buying from Zack at this point support him for his personality/work(leaning more towards personality) and not CG ties. It would be interesting if he did officially leave though. CG purists aside, I'm thinking a good amount would take Zack leaving as a sign that CG has completely lost their way and follow him out the door too.

I'll admit, I'm biased towards Zack succeeding. It would annoy me to see one of the few CG creators that's avoiding drama and just putting out books to get screwed over by dramahounds.

CG purists aside

I agree. I think the real question is how many of these people are so devoted to the cult of Ethan to the point where they would refuse to follow any heretic that leaves the fold.

I am not sure anyone knows the numbers where that is concerned. Also, Meyer is a pre-CG member of Ethanès cult of personality. He was doing gay shit on Ethans behalf back in the FaceBook days so maybe he has no desire to separate from the pack.

Zack does have an intense sense of loyalty for people that have had his back which is why he's pretty defensive when it comes to EVS, but you can only take so many hits before you decide something isn't worth the hassle. That said EVS has been trying to smooth things over and has no interest in trying to give him a hard time, so even if Zack did leave CG, there's not much reason I can see that they personally still wouldn't be on good terms

I have found the backup channel, but going through old men prattling for hours about how they great they are for a two minute clip is painful. I can listen to those bozos when playing videogames but I don't have the time to search for that clip. I tried searching for livestreams with Zack in my watch history and failed to track the one I wanted down.
The evils of video I guess.

Now, as someone who was following Zack before the milkshake incident, I have supported some or all of his IGG projects (saying which would be a bad idea, right?) I guess I count as his fanbase. And IDGAF about Sashi or tribalistic nonsense and I am considering backing JBGB, but money are getting too tight.

I do not agree with his main thesis, that leftist politics have ruined comics, I think that SJWs are a symptom and not the cause. But despite often confusing cause and effect, Zack is mostly correct and offers good comicbook criticism and business advice in a very commonsense way.
The main problem with Zack, and most SJWs is that they are geeks who know little about politics, yet they lecture people on them. CG is a marxist movement of Conservatives against a big business oligopoly controlled by Leftists. It is a funny shitshow.

The gospel of Zack is:
1) Do good work people want to buy.
2) Hire on merit.
3) Offer good customer service.
4) Listen to criticism and try to get better.
5) Be transparent

In political terms, he argues for ethical anarchocapitalism. 2017 Zack was the equivalent of Bernie, argueing for a reform of the industry. I can live with either.

For the most part he follows that. In my experience, his customer service was ideal and clearly tries to improve*
Even Iron Sights, which is controversial for its art style, is following those principles, he has an aesthetic and wants to use it.
Crowdfunding ensures that he won't go too deep into production for a project people do not like.

He sells based on competence, ideas and likeability. He is not the best, but he is quite good** He channels a bit of Jack Kirby and Rob Liefeld, he has big ideas and enthusiasm and can write fun dialogue. If he was doing a monthly title, he would improve to professional level, since he has a problem understanding

The rest of the clown show around EVS is exactly what the mainstream industry suffers from. EVS is a great artist, but I feel he wants to get big crowdfunders to antagonize his enemies. He is not doing cashgrabs for the money, but for the dopamine hits, which is sad.
And his attitude attracts the worst and more deluded grifters and that leads to the Liam clusterfuck. If the EVS side is a more soviet style model, Liam is turning out to be the equivalent of Pol Pot. And, as the Spanish civil was taught us, soviets hate anarchists more than they hate the fascists...***

* His value proposition is still very weak though and will get far worse. I believe he is aware money are running out but still cannot find a way to reduce costs. At some point he will either understand or admit that this is why the comicbook industry is in a pickle, that there is a huge money, not SJW problem. Seeing the clownshow on CG would make him realize that it is not politics, but the economy and the human condition that destroys the comicbook market. At least this is what I hope

** I feel that the main problem with Zack, who has spent his entire life around the army, is that he expects order in everything. His "OCD" is that need. I think his father was in the army too, and so was he. He needs order to cope and much of his ramblings around the comicbook industry and his bone-headedness comes from this need. Simply put, a world where no new floppies come out every week is a betrayal to his worldview. So is his need to find an enemy (SJWs) and prioritize the targets for his campaign. In his campaign, CG as an organization that includes some people and excludes other is a problem, not a solution
The moment he realizes and accepts he is fighting against a broken system and not an enemy would crush him.

*** I feel that, after writing this essay I am turning into a cow. Oh, well, I am off grazing

Meyer left CG in 2018 by all practical considerations. He still wins favor with EVS because he doesnèt make a show out of it. I doubt EVS would deal kindly with being publicly snubbed by him. I expect it would be a variation of what happened with Lim, Tennaple and all the others with EVS wishing Richard well then beginning the passive aggressive comments that would eventually move to full scale attacks. The pattern has been repeated enough times.

The relationship between Ethan and Richard was a pro/fan one to start. I have not seen anything that makes me think they are really that tight now. Have they ever even met in person? I could be wrong but if Meyer betrayed the movement by leaving I suspect Ethan and all his StarWars fans would do what they have done every time a cult member has left the compound.

Edit: I think Star Wars can explain the drop in unit sales numbers for Meyer while Ethan's dropped less proportionally.

EVS's greatest period of growth was during the Star Wars/Phandom Menace spergery of 2018. Ethan built the majority of his fan base then. His Star Wars fan base doesn't translate well to Meyer's because Meyer engages in virtually zero StarWars content or drama and likely is thought of as the weird comic nerd that Ethan has on his show a few times a year.

Meyer is revered by Ethan and his fan club but half or more of that fan club aren't even sure why. Their war is against OGComicsGate not whatever Richard is talking about.

Meyer has been on the outside of the CG bubble for well over a year now. Probably since he left Twitter.

The people who walked away from CG in sensible disgust also walked away from Meyer to a great degree despite him not engaging in the faggotry but Ethan has managed to bolster his own sales by selling outrage and "culture war" to Star Wars fans mostly uninterested in comics but very interested in Ethan.

The actual comics fans grow fewer and fewer.

I think most of Zacks fanbase revolves around him rather than CG, I used to see plenty of comments on his youtube channel of people who were sick of Ethan. There probably is an overlap between CG and Zacks fanbase but I think a lot of his subscribers are fiercely loyal to him similar to how Ethan's fans are loyal to him (just without the gayops).
And Doug Ernst who put together a first effort that showed maturity and a skill set that Meyer simply does not have.
Funny you mention Doug Ernst, I literally just finished reading Soulfinder: Demons Match for the first time about ten minutes ago. It was a solid book, had a strong message and portrayed its central theme rather competently for a first timer. I'm biased in that I really enjoy Tim Lim's art style and Brett R Smiths coloring was fantastic as always, the flames of the burning Humvee seemed like they could leap off the page. It was a work of Shakespeare compared to the kitty litter box liner known as Cyberfrog.

I've posted a ranking before in the Hanger On thread, but I'll repost it here for others to chime in their thoughts.

VERY GOOD: Bigfoot Bill, Casefile Arkham v1, The Futurists, Soulfinder: Demons Match
GOOD: Lonestar 1, Flying Sparks 1, Black & White Remastered
OKAY: Jawbreakers: Lost Souls, The Ferryman 1, Trumps Space Force, Brand, The Ember War, Graveyard Shift 1, Jawbreakers: Godking
LOUSY: Ravage, Cyberfrog: Bloodhoney, Jungle Comics, The Beserkonaut
DOGSHIT: Iron Sights

I've still got a ton of unread and undelivered stuff including Preston Poulter's books, Comicsgate books and Brian Pullido's Lady Death series. The biggest crime is Mitch Breitweiser, The Futurists has to be one of the best comics released so far but his fuck up of Red Rooster overshadows how good it is. It doesn't help there's no Walmart near me so I'll probably only ever have the first issue, which proves even when Mitch does something right he still somehow fucks it all up.

That said EVS has been trying to smooth things over and has no interest in trying to give him a hard time, so even if Zack did leave CG, there's not much reason I can see that they personally still wouldn't be on good terms
Ethan was coming out to bat for Sashi and Zack pretty hard in that last Liam stream, he also was defending the Oddity Guys and Von Klaus.

EVSdisapproves.PNG

I think young Liam Gray is on borrowed time, his been rocking the boat too much lately and his drama-whoring ways are starting to piss of the other CG creators. When Ro and Micah Curtis are the voices of reason on your stream, you know you've fucked up.

CG is a marxist movement of Conservatives against a big business oligopoly controlled by Leftists.
I agree with a lot of your post, except this one line. Comicsgate has pretty much shed its conservative creators; Tim Lim, Doug TenNapel, Mike S Miller, Mindy Wheeler and others I'm probably forgetting. Jon Malin is on the record for being a Liberal, Cecil almost seems like an SJW sometimes with his rhetoric and Ethan comes across more center left than conservative.

Ethan had attended Obama rallies in the past self admittedly and Gail Simone revealed that he was a "never Trumper" up until the day Trump won and quickly hoped on the bandwagon.

>You say I was mad because you voted for Trump, you know that’s not true and I find this one of the creepiest bits. What happened was, you were crowing about Trump winning, which is your right. But what annoyed me was that you had just days previously called Trump a clown, an insane idiot, and that he would be a disaster for the country. I could’ve ignored it and possibly should have, but I asked about that on Twitter, “Hey, Ethan, weren’t you saying THIS about Trump just a few days ago?”I believe you got embarrassed. Maybe that’s not a cool thing for me to do. But it was frustrating to see you constantly say one thing to your friends, and the exact opposite to your followers.

I remember Ethan invited Richard and Capn Cummings to his wedding, I know Cummings didn't end up going but I can't remember if Zack went. I'm sure another Kiwi will remember.

It's lines like these that keep me coming back to this thread. Thankfully this Pol Pot is only massacring people who deserve and consent to the carnage.

Well, US politics are too effed up to fit European political concepts and trying to apply political concept to the production and selling of comicbooks in the US is even more effed up.
Just think that some CGers will get triggered by being called Marxists and laugh at them.

Couldn't have happened to worse people. And I talk about the both of them.
It is Zack's theory of dirtbacks, the worst people in a platoon will end up together. Seems that this applies to comicbook pros.

Was not aware of that, so is his talking points about other comic book creators hating him for being Republican a lie?
From my point of view I would argue yes. Marvel always had a problem with Ethan because he failed to meet deadlines, not because of his political affiliation. As for DC there were rumors that he was a nightmare to work with and his coworkers thought he had a bad attitude, Gail talks about that some more in her facebook post (though it is her word against his.)

I'm actually inclined to believe her though, mainly because of Chuck Dixon. Chuck Dixon has worked with Comicsgaters and writes for internet boogeyman Teddy Spaghetti (Vox Day) on his Alt Hero series. While Axel Alonzo famously said Chuck would never work for Marvel again so long as he was Editor In Chief, DC has had no problems working with Chuck. He and Graham Nolan teamed back up for Bane: Conquest only a few years ago and I think his working with DC on some new projects now.

If DC would still hire someone like Dixon given his association to Day, I don't see why Ethan would receive so much grief simply allegedly for voting for Trump.

Edit: Simply to Allegedly, since Gail seems to imply he didn't.

Liam quoted me on stream. It's nice to see he's still paying attention to Kiwi Farms since he was thread banned.

EDIT: Just got here. Ethan "invited" TUG to stream last night. "Forgot" and then invited a bunch of other people on but not TUG. Could be nothing but this kind of reminds me of Ethan inviting Preston on then ghosting him and calling him a psycho. Not that he called TUG a psycho.

I wonder if Ethan is toying with TUG here the way he did Preston...

Ro convinces a drunk ginger fuck who is neither CG or anti-CG to buy Vestige, play a recording of a clip he sent to Crypto, and promises that since he plays the recording, that if he gives him his order number, he'll send him extra merch. I could barely make out what was said in the recording because it's a bunch of yelling, but damn was that hilarious.

Also, Ro calls @Mister Dongs the "Kiwifarms cuckold representative".

Liamstream is where all the hilarity ensues.

Live With Liam writeup:

Like most episodes, this starts with filler content as Liam employs his classic "try to organize his program schedule as the show actually plays in realtime" approach to youtubing, inviting "Well Read User", a collector of mod wrenches on CG channels and Mike S. Miller diehard to advocate against Warcampaign's ethos and actions, and to answer for his refunding of Cash Grab after Cecil dragged him into a 5v1 dogpile on his stream for insulting WC as a mod on EVS' channel (lol). The insights weren't particularly good, but he wisely took off as "Mr. Biggons" and TUG showed up for another 5v1 dogpile. Biggons's extremely tedious counterargument was that since Well Read User used "vague words" like "harassment" and "policing Comicsgate" that his position was automatically disqualified. TUG, desperate for exposure anywhere he can get on, quickly admitted that he hadn't even heard what Well Read User said, but threw out a token support for Warcampaign's "freedom of speech as customers" and again urged the audience to stop infighting and put their differences aside to own the SJWs. In the chat, Frog grew bored of the two slow, dissembling hicks taking up space and amused himself by shitting on Micah Curtis while the crowd got increasingly restless.

Eventually Frog starts demanding to be let on the show and Liam, temporarily forgetting himself, says Frog can take wait til tomorrow for a full interview before smartening up and putting him on right away. Frog apologizes to Umbrella for forgetting to put him on his show, which apparently had TUG let out a big teary-eyed tantrum to Frog over DMs; Frog attributes the lapse to the horrible mind-numbing aftereffect of having to actually draw comics. TUG seems mollified by this. Frog states that he doesn't have the time or energy between family, youtube and crowdfunding/comics to even hope of keeping track about who nobodies like Sashi even are, let alone what they're up to. Not even the time to keep reading the dossiers and relationship webs Sketch Therapy sends him daily. In short: he does not give a fuck and he would appreciate it if everyone didn't try to drag him into their interpersonal beefs.

This settled, Liam queried Frog about his statements regarding "Dynamite is Comicsgate", hoping to get the chance to really grill Frog on what this means. Frog declined a full interview, instead electing to give a statement then and there: "I misspoke, Dynamite and CG are clearly separate. But working with Dynamite is very convenient for me; the man in charge has been my friend for decades, lives nearby and agrees with the conclusions on the comic book industry that Comicsgate has drawn. The principles and ideas that Comicsgate is ordered around are not compromised by my delegating the arduous logistics of crowdfunding campaign fulfillment to professionals instead of doing everything myself, insisting on that when it's not necessary is a meaningless self-restriction." In essence, Frog is saying that Comicsgate's business model was a means to an end in the face of blacklisting and not the purpose of Comicsgate in of itself. If people think they can get a better deal working with Dynamite while being in CG; there's no good reason why they shouldn't.

Liam, in a very Liam fashion, prodded back by pointing out that some of the most egregious SJWs in the comic book industry work for Dynamite and speculated that their electing to remain was potentially part of a vast conspiracy to inveigle themselves into a position of power over Comicsgate projects. Frog replied that the reason that they remained with a company that is collaborating with Comicsgate as an open secret is because they have no other option, and that this situation tremendously gratifies Frog.

The "Dynamite = CG" question clarified, Liam booted Frog off to get to the main event to add a fellow Australian, unemployed and mindbogging angry drunk at 2AM on a Tuesday, who wanted to scream at Liam about how he both loved him and wanted to beat the shit out of him for being a fucking cunt. But also beat the shit out of him as a friend. Liam and the guest, "Ryzie Lee", discussed Centrelink and comic books for a while for a while before Ro Kabir, sensing opportunity, demanded his way onto the stream. Ryzie, a man of mixed loyalties, evidently was the fellown who leaked a group chat conversation with "Panboy Soychild Donglover" to someone in "Anti-CG" which has since been filed in Panboy's upcoming cyberstalking trial versus Crypto Comics. Ro starts constructing all sorts of traps to get the guest start admitting that the conversation was illegally recorded and therefore inadmissable in trial, which Ryzie blindly stumbles into each and every one for the pleasure of the viewing audience. He's stoked that Ro is hanging out with him and being buds again. Ro even gets Ryzie to play the conversation in question by holding the mic to his speaker some incoherent screaming about how Ryzie was going to kick the shit out of Panboy for being a cunt and make him "lick his fackin armpit". Satisfied, Ro takes his leave as Ryzie goes on to tour his basement suite bedroom full of anime figurines and waifu pillow before playing out the end of the stream by scrambling around looking for his lighter.

This must be an attempt to find his lost calling as a radio shock jock. Art places a distant fourth after gay-ops, pop culture commentary and crappy music. But what a wack pack he has assembled. Cecil is the new Artie Lange!

Comicsgate = Unswerving Devotion to Ethan

It sounded like they were talking about the conversation being recorded in that tape playback. Admittedly it was hard to make out though.

The end of that stream was a fascinating conglomeration of uniquely beautiful losers. Each of them was more sad and pathetic than the one in the box next to him.

Special shout out to jobless alcoholic waifu connoisseur, lol cow and perpetual Judas: Ryzie. I can't imagine why Crypto and him fell out.🙄

Very entertaining.

I am going through it as I am working on low-effort stuff. Sounds like another amazing show from Liam.

By the way, as you describe it (haven't gotten to that point) EVS is halfway correct. He can afford to let professionals do his shipping and/or even rep him for Diamond. He has a multimillion dollar property (if two is considered a multi in any way) and hiring people is not out of the question. He can make even more money as an artist/radio host than as a delivery boy and it is good business.

EDIT: I just got to the EVS part. He speaks reasonably then he delivers his night letter "I thave my fans buying your comics" at 1:52:21 and a while later "People makes shit up, Liam".
Liam seems to get it, and ends his appearance at 2:04 with a "Kids, play nice and stop stirring shit up for views - this is MY job". Not in that exact way, but close.
I like how he confirms that the mainstream wants a healthy injection of a popular IP like Cyberfrog but the money are not worth it. He then explains that the market is shrinking (despite him and Zack killing it on YT) and wants to keep a headstart for overpriced vanity projects by e-celebs (I am paraphrasing).
Liam seems to be totally oblivious to what happens to the mainstream industry which is a good indication that a big part ofCG is there for their ideology or ambition rather than the medium.
