#Comicsgate - The Culture Wars Hit The Funny Books!

The reverse could also be true, you know. In my case, I've known of Ethan the moment he was working on Geoff John's Green Lantern run. I did not know of ComicsGate as a thing until mid last year. Even then, I was watching Zack's video around late 2018/early 2019, and once I began to wonder what he's talking about, it was then I found this interconnectedness between some dumb internet movement known as ComicsGate, where Ethan, whom I just watched videos of years ago do drawing tutorials was involved in, and is now making videos either losing his mind over Star Wars or making fun of Captain Marvel, dwelled in. I didn't even know he was "Fandom Menace" till I heard the term from Jeremy from G+G's mouth, nor that Ethan started it. Imagine my surprise when I look further and find out everyone of these internet personalities were all tied together in one form or another and links back to why I hate e-celeb status so much. Heck, I was surprised TUG and YF were even CG after I witnessed some of their shitty takes on anime in Weeb Wars.

From the outsider's perspective who was just clueless and came to see if anyone thought negatively of a movie they watched or was wondering why storytelling as a whole went to shit, suddenly I find the rabbit whole of a bunch of internet movements and sped fandoms shrieking over a SJW propaganda like it's the end of the world, there was only one question I had: "Why?"

To begin with, I found KF because I was linked to it since I hated MauLer's stance and how he was ruining it for everyone who actually had legitimately come up with reasonable explanations on how to measure things objectively (that is to include subjectivity in the equation, which means you actually have to understand the subject matter), then I lurked in that thread, and found this thread, to which began my read up for something close to 600-700 pages before I even began signed up to post here. I almost convinced myself to buy the first Cyberfrog, then once the coin video dropped by @VIkkiVerse (tbf, I was already annoyed of the shit Ethan's been pulling after how much digging I did into him), I decided to never support this failure of a man again.

As you can tell, I'm not someone you'll even find on Twitter (because I don't use it, except for getting the clippings). And I don't have to thank Ethan for existing for being the reason why I'd find my way to other creators either. I found other folks all on my own before I realized their connections to Ethan like Zack, and I had heard of EWJ without knowing who Doug T. was as well.
I first stumbled across his art supplies video in my recommended list when he first put it out and then his Rose Tico stuff kept popping up. I watched - or more accurately had in my background rotation - his Star Wars saga every day until he milked all the life out of that, giving up somewhere around Solo. I know zero about comic books but was shocked to discover there are so many adults who still play with toys. When I learned of his being blackballed and IGG movement and put 2-and-2 together with the number of anti-SJW adults with disposable income who are unwilling to grow up I saw opportunity. I do know a thing or two about opportunity paired with disruptive technologies and this checks all those boxes. If he can just get a handle on the fake drama vs. real drama and not get indicted the sky's the limit IMO. The early limited IGG stuff will deliver a nice return. Time will tell.

The daily soap opera time-wasting stuff is just a bonus.

I'd heard of Doug TenNapel, Tim Lim, Capn Cummings and Doug Ernst before @FROG. Cummings and Ernst were the second and third Comicsgate channels I subbed to after Ya Boi Zack. Tim Lim was a regular on Ernst and Cummings channels since they both promoted Thump: The first Bundred Days, Black Hops and My Hero MAGAdemia. Doug TenNapel was already a household name for 90's kids because of Earthworm Jim, personally I had never heard of Ethan VanSciver before Zack promoted him after the Gotham City Pizza incident.

Before Comicsgate I only knew EVS as the artist that wasn't Frank Quitely on Grant Morrison's New X-Men

Really the what, three or four issues of Morrisons forty plus issue run that he managed to draw were the most important thing he did in his thirty year career outside of the first issue of Sinestro Corps.

You know what I really don't like about Frog isn't the fakeness or his cowardly lead from the rear style. Its his low key evil shit. He's just a basic grifter.

People like me would've never heard of any of those people or the products they sell if not for Frog. I can't be alone. Others can now hate-buy their stuff to PWN Frog as well.

And damn you for making me defend him.

Ethan is a carpet bagger. He brought a lot of people to the party but he also ruined the party for many. Tim Lim was doing way better before Ethan came along than after Ethan and his trolls decided to excise him for pointing out Ethan wasn't perfect.

People who would have continued to support a lot of these creators walked away form them because of the rumors and lies Ethan and WarCampaign propagated against them. CG "loyalty" has been a very real thing for these sheep and it's loyalty to Ethan and no one else for most as WarCampaign is finding out now to their horror.

The drop in Vestige's IGG numbers has more to do with falling out of favor with the Caesar of ComicsGate than it does them being horrifying scumbags who might dox their own customers.

The difference is that Ethan made WarCampaign so they owe everything they lose to Ethan. That isn't the case for guys like Tim Lim who made Thump long before Ethan realized DC Comics didn't want to put up with his shit anymore.

I discovered ComicsGate in the fall of 2018 from Zach's or Ernst's video's I think and then I discovered EVS. He was a charismatic dude with an entertaining supporting cast (mostly Mike, Antonio, Nasser and Doug as Nerkish was gone by the time I found this shit show). They seemed to be about free speech and making comics that were an alternative to the unreadable woke mainstream. That seemed like something I could respect. (little did I know)

It took me about six months of observing casually and somewhat disinterestedly to realize that there was something seriously hinky about this "movement" and the bullshit internal politics of it. I thought Lim and Nerkish were scam artist betrayers because so many people adhered to that as fact. But then the cracks in the foundation came into view for me.

I saw WarCampaign and eventually Ethan turn on Doug exactly like they turned on Lim and say he betrayed them when all he had done was defend Ashworth. I went down the rabbit hole and discovered a bottomless pit of gay ops faggotry from WarCampaign that I eventually realized Ethan supported and must have known about.

It was fascinating. I had liked and even thought about supporting Ethan and his frog book (I did back other books that looked more interesting to me than CyberFrog) before I realized what a shit bag he was. But here were thousands of people who were still buying his bullshit and lapping it up like it was their favorite icecream. And it only got more fascinating. At first I thought these people were just low info casual supporters of the idea of CG like I had been but then I watched conversations with his supporters on Twitter where they were shown receipts proving what a sack of refuse the Ethan is and they'd disregard it in ways that indicated extreme cognitive dissonance.

I was like, "Holy fuck!!! CG is a cult and these people literally worship this fat douche bag because he has a voice for radio and tells them everything they want to hear". And the money they throw at him! I saw people who seemed otherwise intelligent fawn on him like a thirteen yr old girl at a Justin Beeber concert. I was watching a literal cult coalesce around a fat slob middling talent Flash artist who I vaguely remembered doing underwhelming fill in art for the excellent Quitely on X-Men a hundred years ago.

I mean, he draws comicbooks, and these people ironically/unironically call him Caesar and "hail" him whenever they interact. They throw thousands of dollars in superchat cash at him for "'changing thier lives" or something. And he's an obvious snake oil lolcow too!

I've been hooked on watching this tard show for what it is ever since.

Discovering Kiwi Farms has only made it more entertaining.

Never read Green Lantern so missed those. It always makes me chuckle when Comicsgaters hold Uncle E up as this A-list Comic artist. I came across a CBR top 100 artists list the other day voted by the readers, EVS was 78th.

Cha-Ching!

DC Comics announced that June 8th will be the Final Order cut-off date for DC made through Diamond Distribution.
Dan Shahin sounds enraged and is comparing DC to the looters taking advantage of the protests outside. Outside Canada + the US, there is no way for retailers to order DC product.

TBH, I think you're a little optimistic. People should be past giving Ethan the benefit of the doubt at this point with the amount of shit piling up against him.

It was the falling out with Doug that was aired on Rekeita's stream too that had my mind go "what?" because I was watching Nick's stream to see what would happen to Vic. After I heard the 17-0 loss, I stopped watching Rekeita. I'll be even more honest, I don't like anime dubbed to begin with, so I wasn't there for Vic, I was there for the obvious attempts at canceling a man in an overblown attempt at being a MeToo controversy. Seeing people in the Farms fence sitting on whether Nicky Rackets should get a thread or not amused me slightly. I was very surprised at his tiptoeing around wanting to be friends with both Doug and Ethan, but that's what Lawyers do. It's very obvious who was in the wrong, but Rackets always fails to call it out, says shit like "I don't want to get involved in the drama", then lurks the Farms on his streams and says shit like "this is the drama I'm interested in".

These whiny bitches have been bending over and spreading wide for Diamond for what, three decades now? And they're crying about DC? Is this Stockholm Syndrome or am I missing somehing? Over stuffed, late and damaged orders, incorrect orders, etc. You think they'd be dancing in the streets.

Waaaaaa I need to learn new software. Waaaaa I need to figure out a new way to enter invoices. Waaaaa, here comes the Waaaaaaaambulance.

I'm mystified. 27:00 - Now they're claiming DC is screwing the LCS's? And not Diamond? What? And now they're saying because there's no Int'l. Dist. now there never will be? Huh?

Holy fuck. These sweaty fatsos are Dodo birds. CMV.

Turns out we have missed a little drama unfolding in the world of "anti/ex/OG-Comicsgate" for a change. It all began when Jon Del Arroz posted this cryptic tweet.
Turns out it was OG-CG Skinny of The Needle Movers Society that was talking to Jon in DMs and released the conversation uncensored.
Which has led to some interesting back and forth and hot takes from many within the lose-knit group known as "OG-CG".
And some strange mental gymnastics from Jon "The Turncoat" Del Arroz.
The autistic screeching continues...

I cant be fucked archiving this anymore...
Personally I'm #TeamSkinny, Jon Del Arroz has turned his back on those who initially supported him when he split from Comicsgate due to Warcampaign and now appears to be joining them.

Has Warcampaign found their new Caesar?

Season Three of Comicsgate is by far the weirdest yet...

Not a big DC guy?

There was a period of about five years starting a bit before GL Rebirth, where DC was pushing Geoff Johns hard. Sinestro War was the big GL event that I remember everyone going gaga for at the time.

Frog drew a whopping one issues of the eleven issue miniseries and pencilled seven or eight pages of the epilogue.

He had a brief moment after Rebirth where he got to ride Johns moment in the sun, but squandered it. He coasted for a long time after that. Combine that laziness with his constant antics and e-thot behavior and it isn't any wonder he isn't as popular or prolific as more consistent talent.

To go all alternate timeline, suppose EVS acted like Zach, how do you think his IGG campaigns would do? I honestly think they'd do worse, sadly. For whatever reason we live in an age where drama sells.

I only pick up comics based on the writer or artist, don't follow Companies or Characters. Read loads of DC and loads of titles with Green Lantern in but never the Green Lantern comics themselves.

Wigga Weaboo was cozying up with Latino Kanye.

I should have seen this coming a mile away. JDA is almost exactly like Ethan, maybe even more extreme than Ethan is. That's why the two doesn't get along. He wishes he was in Ethan's shoes and commanding WC. Ethan uses the same rhetoric Vox Day does, but JDA is the true apprentice to Vox Day, whereas Ethan was merely the loose adapter of the ideology.

I'm more interested in seeing how many of the WC actually embraces JDA. Ro is a Jordan B. Peterson fanboy, and Vox hated JP. Ethan was Ro's substitute for the kind of leader JP would preach about, so I want to see where Ro would go with this, and how his relationship with Wigga Weaboo would end up once he realizes that if JDA becomes the "new Caesar" for WC, it wouldn't be the type of man he should have been following in any idea of the sense. Even him following Ethan around was already a complete misunderstanding of Peterson's points.

Now... about cozying up with WC... didn't Sheila Allen, a WCer dig up the dirt on Jon's "friend" Preston Poulter?

This shit's getting gayer and gayer by the day. @Mister Dongs how's that timeline of events and factions listing coming along? You might want to observe this and see how it goes forward.
