You must be heartbroken, @Mister Dongs
Saved for prosperity since I think this will be temporary and Liam has a habit of deleting videos eg: his CGanonymous conspiracy theory. Its music for the first 2:40 of the video, then Liam rants for 10 minutes.

In the video Liam blames two spergs from his chat; The Warcampaigner Testefy-HD and the Mike S Miller acolyte WellReadUser1, among others. He also cites a stream Oz Arts did previously as a catalyst for his decision.

Stream in question:
The TLDR is Oz Arts hosted Mike Oxmaul, who has previously appeared on a Liamstream and is mostly known for making TUG look like a fool. Mike commented that Vestige 1 was underperforming compared to Vestige 2, which Testefy-HD took exception to and proceeded to debate Mike on the stream. It was hardly a debate and more of a massacre of Testefy as Mike showed backerkit data which definitively proved Vestige 1 is struggling. According to backerkit Vestige 2 is down nearly half its backers and 14K compared to the same 12 day time period of the original Vestige.

Given that the majority of Vestige's funds were made during Ethan's streams on the final day and subsequently while being indemand, I doubt the sequel will see even half the success of Vestige 1. It is currently projected to make 40K during it's initial campaign run and those estimates are almost always too generous.

The fallout between Warcampaign and Comicsgate appears to have taken another scalp in young Liam Gray, @Mister Dongs on suicide watch.:feels:

EDIT: Liam is streaming already, that was quick...

Yes, it was. Now he's livestreaming AGAIN.

Liam can't stop once he starts running his mouth. Panboy and Testefy are trying pressure him:

Welp guys either see you in the morgue or in the liamstream chat in 12 hours.

The ruin Testefy inflicts on everyone who willingly associates with him is truly staggering if you take a minute to appreciate it. He spearheaded the effort to shit on Jon Malin, Cecil and Anna for months over the Vampirella cover until they loathed all of Warcampaign, personally represented the WC position to Frog during the split between WC and CG (reminiscing, Frog described him as "a fucking asshole") and even wound up getting Ryzie Lee doxed in a failed trolling op on Anna's channel. As a bonus, he finally succeeded in getting Liam to cancel the Liamstream.

I had to shut Oxmaul up as Testefy argued in front of WC that Vestige #2 numbers vs Vestige #1 was an invalid comparison because no platforms are willing to associate with or sponsor Warcampaign anymore and that the majority of customers were lost in the schism from Comicsgate.

If he's going to be serious about stepping out on his own without the drama, he's going to have to focus on promoting his own stuff full time. The manga style doesn't always translate to the non-weebo world, so he can't just put out a nice pic of a cute little anime girl every now and then and call it a day. He does seem to have talent, but he needs to develop a narrative that isn't disgruntled CG purist. CG means nothing. It was a silly tagline to begin with and now that Ethan and Preston have had their way with it, why is it so tough to break the habit?

When Liam goes on these soul-baring monologues, he always gets riled up. He could confess his goodwill all day long, but it won't add interest to his book. He skips right over any detailed info on his comic for CG meta. It tells me he's not sure of the quality of his work.

"I can talk more about my product if people are interested... how much can I unveil and still give you an experience is the eternal question."

More excuses. How are people supposed to get interested to begin with? Defeatist and backward. You never wait for headpats before you do something worthwhile. Just do it because it needs to be done. Why do I feel like his entire project is mostly an attempt to fit in instead of stand out? He will never escape the shadow of Ethan, WC, or even Sashi until he does.

Jesus Christ 30 seconds of that stream was too much. I don't know how you do it.

What are these idiots trying to do? Do they think they're going to be discovered as the next edgy internet star? What's worse is the same 2 or 3 CG spergs arguing with them all day on twitter. If they'd just ignore WC altogether they'd be forgotten in a week.

I can't say I've read any of Liam's writing and so can't attest to its quality, but I think we all know from his brief foray of novelposting here that he can bang out words at a professional rate. It's more than a little ironic that in his criticism against Zack, he decided to adopt Zack's approach to Comicsgate by stepping away from entanglement in CG drama and concentrating on his own product and platform. Liam seems constantly put out at the expectations of running a youtube channel on top of his dayjob as well as managing his campaign (to be fair, no one said Liam had to livestream twice daily 7 days a week for two months), but as Frog has tried to explain, there are so many unemployed creators out there that building the platform is a necessity, at least until a better idea comes along.

I'm of the opinion that Liam's writing is rather lacking in terms of depth. From the time I spent studying him and his patterns, the conclusion I've come to is that his story is most likely going to have the framing that comes from a much older person, but writing an edgy teenager style in an attempt at mimicking the darker, better mangas out there. It's not uncommon considering he doesn't understand Japanese as a language, it's a high context language, where as languages like English and German are low context. Liam's experience with anime/manga is highly limited by the context he's able to take in via the language he speaks alone, and the restrictions of the English language. Most people in the West consume anime through subtitles or translations, and I've noticed there's a discrepancy in actually understanding what's actually being said. It's not a knock on the English language, just that there's something fundamental lost in translations.

For example, Quintin Tarantino in his Once Upon a Time in Hollywood said he thought Bruce Lee was arrogant and cocky when he said that "be like water" quote, that's why he portrayed him that way, but it's a complete disconnect since humbleness can often be mistaken as arrogance (which Frog thinks is in his case, but it's actually not) once you switch the language up.

My guess is that Liam is only portraying things on the periphery of what he thinks is like the things that inspired him and that he ripped off. It's why the design for Esper, his main character looks just like a Zoalord from Guyver. Even the design is bordering on being a derivative design despite trying not to be one.

At best, Liam's writing will come off as pretentious in the sense that he'll be writing it from the point of view that he's portraying the darkest things possible and still have meaning and hope in it, when really it might just be a half-baked idea at best.

EDIT: Also, he's using the "transforming hero" that is common in Tokusatsu shows in Japan. There's plenty of stories out there already that use that trope, so seeing what I've already seen from his pages, I can already tell he fell into some pretty bad traps, there's also this manga called Zetman that I'm instantly reminded me of already when I look at Liam's character:

zetman.jpg

I could go down a long list of what Liam possibly thought he could get away with in claiming originality when it comes to his character design choice as well as story beats from what I've gleamed from his dialogue, because I'm very familiar with that type of stuff, but it's not particularly worth it.

That will go against his beta programming: he can't help the urge to want to fit in all the time. He didn't have to stream, he really wanted to. I'm not even convinced his book is more than a list of genre checkmarks just so he can belong to the CG label. Comicsgate is the prom after a telekinetic sperg-out. Nothing left to do but roll the credits.

He should be really excited to tell people about his characters. He should be finding ways to talk about them, not who Zach hired to draw a pinup. He always appears to be bracing for a mixed reception. Meanwhile all these streams do is to provide emotional crack hits for a "recovering" dramaholic. For a guy who doesn't care, that's truly exceptional.

My comments don't appear now. I'm not sure if it's across all of Youtube or just that stream yet.
Have you tried selecting "live chat" instead of "top chat", sometimes youtube filters certain words and users automatically.
Thank you.

Hey, @Tyne!
Where did the Marine-turned-comic-book-artist touch you?
He was thread banned for "dear diary" posting here about a month ago.

EDIT: Took a while but I searched it out to relive the glory of it all over again.

Isn't zack is like the Jesus Christ figure for cg, the shipping fees should be the least of his worries knowing he probably unleashed a storm of zack/evscg cult autists. I'd hate to see xenotype 2 numbers seeing he brunt some serious bridges.

I wouldn't even go as far as Xenotype 2. Liam's talking about a video game. Who starts a development on a videogame from an untested, unproven writer, whose book haven't even been read by any backers yet, with no market research done on the audience size and it's potential after release?

Heck, a CyberFrog video game is more likely, and I think even that is delusional thinking.

EDIT: Forgot to share this. #RefundCampaign has already begun.

Seems like "Butthurt Entertainment"'s butthurt will be our entertainment.

I get the impression Liam is more in line with the idea that he belongs in a counter-culture movement than producing stories. He wanted to do comics, then toured with punk bands, now he is in CG. What he creates feels secondary.
When he is pitching Xenotype, he always talks about a teenager artist held back by The Establishment or something, but the rest of it seems like it is secondary to the main plot. And he is not smart enough to pitch it as "a young comic book artist gets the opportunity to become the superhero he was drawing" or something... I would back the latter.

Zack is keeping the $25-books/shipping fees because he bleeds money over the Waid-suit.
