I first got to know Warren through Whitechapel, the forum associated with the Freak Angels comic. We lightly emailed and occasionally commented on LJ and Flickr, all of which made me feel special. He would sometimes hint at wanting pictures, and I would send him the same sorts of things I sent my friends, rather than anything provocative, mainly because I don't trust the internet. Part of what I'm feeling is betrayal for having been made to feel so special, and to realize none of us were.
I don't feel abused, although I see that abuse happened to others. I think the flirty relationship I had with him wasn't abusive because he had no power over me, as our fields didn't overlap, and abuse requires an imbalance of power...

...I'm not interested in canceling Warren, or by proxy the people he works with. I'm interested in living in a society where this sort of behavior is inexcusable, and in which we offer love and support to all those involved.

For some mysterious reason, Warren Ellis struggled far less (but still some) for this woman's lewds. She says it's because of her position of power and independence compared to the other girls. But I suspect some other reason why Ellis really half-assed trying to bang this particular woman online.... 🤔

It's become both validation and placement in the victim hierarchy to claim Ellis abused them in some way. To be the one beneath even that fat bastard's standards is embarrasing. They'll compete with each other over how desirable they are to him even if it means making it up completely. What's he going to do? Victimize them more by saying the weren't good enough for his gaze by calling her a liar?

He's the resident stream drunk who would say everything they all agreed with but couldn't say themselves. He's also a full-blown alcoholic that let them feel better about themselves.

But it turned out that he's actually pretty witty and smart yet has a mysterious backstory that's sure to come out and destroy him and everyone who platformed him eventually.

I have invested in his "art".

Cecil is a comicsgate youtube personality/entertainer who puts on a mask and gets blackout drunk for Frog's amusement as his personal jester.

I miss the old days (if a year and a half ago can be considered such) when Cecil's YouTube channel was nothing but a troll of the old Zach as Diversity and Comics.

I'm guessing he was dinged for some kind of securities fraud, possibly taking a lifetime ban from working as a professional investor in lieu of a stretch at Club Fed. I do think his real name and "sordid past" will come out, but at this point I doubt anyone will care much, unless he was doing shit like literally stealing from widows and orphans. I can't see him doing anything violent, somehow.

If Dynamite just ignores twitter, & this crappy cover keeps going up on IGG, these self-righteous fucks will move on to the next target by Monday. There's always someone else to destroy.

It'll be interesting to see where Dynamite is in 6 months compared to Russell or Zircher, though I wouldn't be surprised if DC throws them a couple of jobs as a reward for their "loyalty to the party."

That "example" made me and my S.O. chuckle a bit and i had previously assumed Cecil was a moron, so maybe not a great example fam. And if thats the *worst* of it, prolly a pretty good book.

Securities Fraud hasn't been a serious thing for 20 years. It's more a badge of honor nowadays. Slap on the wrist with a promise not to do it again for 5 years is as bad as it gets. That's no exaggeration - you can steal millions and easily get off with a $100k fine.

That's weird. Do you have a cap of the tweet where she said she "would be talking to them [Dynamite]," or words to that effect? I guess I just leapt to what I thought was an obvious conclusion. I'm hopeless at trying to dig through the accounts of people who tweet 8,000 times a day like she does, but I'm pretty sure I saw her tweet that.

If only Dynamite would make fucking posters of their cover art I would be buying them. As is the interior art is too mediocre to justify buying the comics. Can say the same for almost the entire North American comic industry.
