I really like that channel. I found it when it was pretty small when looking up videos about vintage horror paperbacks. He's pretty sjw (he mentioned cg being a harassment group in his latest video), but when he leaves politics out of it, his channel is solid.

A couple of his videos got shout outs from RL Stine. Definitely helped his growth.

He sounds like a soy fourteen year old.

Based of what he says in the videos, he might be around 25-30.

What I especially love is how this approach is 'soft Comicsgate', it's the kind of Comicsgate that can actually slip in under an SJW sympathizer's radar and change their thinking through carefully reasoned, thoughtful arguments.

I would like to get up to this guy's quality of videos, but here's the thing:

In Praise of Shadows does videos PROBABLY most likely because he wants to do videos.

I do videos just to market my books. I understand that the better the videos, the better it'll be to shill my books, but I just don't like making videos/have no interest in making videos. I was only ever on YouTube to sell my books--and if I could sell my books without doing YouTube, I would.

You have to be an extrovert to do YouTube, you have to be talkative, I've never been an extrovert or talkative, I've always liked to keep to myself. I don't think I have anything new to say or anything people care to hear. I feel like when I do videos, I'm just repeating things other people have said first.

To her credit, our lady of perpetual boob burn has gotten markedly better at broadcasting, modulating her tone. Good job. Still, the stream struggles a little. The first third is stream sniping, boring, followed by a Nassar bit that falls flat, and ends with Testfy HD guesting.

Icky Vicky also got into a sperg fight with Jon of the Rice (who couldn't stay true to his "we're all on the same side" good behavior charade any longer) because Senor of the Rice called some guy on twitter a MAP:

Certainly. I agreed to disagree when I said we see his writing differently in the first place. I think our disagreement boils down to nuance in definitions of what constitutes SJW works. We're arguing about definitions of a poorly defined relatively new term.

I suspect neither of us is wrong objectively. We simply see the term SJW from slightly different perspectives. We seem to agree substantially while we disagree about perspective.

A few weeks ago I noticed that a couple of issues of Preston's Guinevere And The Divinity Factory were released on Comixology. Today they were joined by Kamen America
It got me thinking, so I looked around, trying to think of books that were A: more closely tied to comicsgate and B: actually - you know - completed and released. Of the very short list that I could think of, I found only one - an obscure title called T-Bird and Throttle, a crowdfunded 54-page book and mini issue #0 that were fulfilled in 2018 and then promptly fell off my radar if not the face of the earth.

I'm curious about the barriers to having your book distributed on Comixology. Is it an 'SJW' platform? They have a BLM category but you might say that about any big business these days. If a Trump fanboy and the guy trying to claim the 'comicshate' trademark can have their books accepted there, why no Cyberfrogs or Graveyard Shifts? Does the boycott come from comicsgate's direction, like those dumbass "comicsgate only" and "Kickstarter is the devil" declarations? Or is it a little more cynical than that, and has to do with that division between catering to those youtube stans and catering to comic readers?

ComicsGate has for the most part been against Digital Comics in general. There was considerable derision toward digital from a particularly prominent CG member and then strangely almost everyone fell in line.

I think digital can be a viable option for most people in CG but there are a few at the top who don't see the value and campaigned against digital for fear of piracy. Not sure why pirates wouldn't just scan originals and share them if the book was worth the effort.
