I know the Canaan White disavowal of CG was mentioned before the thread devolved into a combination Tourette's rant/clip show, but to set the stage:

Canaan White made a public display of "leaving" CG. This really pissed off Jon Malin:

Word around the campfire is, Canaan had to do it to get a better work

And sides are being taken, of course.

But....Canaan's last 2 CG crowdfunds with Antonio Brice (Ikari Press) haven't done well at all:

Probably safe to say, CG left him before he left it. But there's enough gayness & public displays of loyalty to either side to go around.
But wasn't he lined up for Ethan's crew?

I wonder what the job was?

This could be interesting if CG is something that can be shed. I wonder who else would do it and return given the opportunity Especially since the diagram of talent and lack of funding must be pretty small.
YouTube is sending messages to foreign creators today telling them that they're required to pay US tax on all their YT earnings now (adsense, superchats, etc). Some countries are exempt depending on whatever tax treaty they have with the US but I can't decipher the Australia rules. Could mean an additional 25% or so on top of YT's normal huge cut.

Hahah, Liam's tears. All those foreign bread tubers getting fucked over.... :unholy:

Jim Steranko is 82 years old; his only form of active income was appearing at conventions and those were already cancelled because of the Chinese Virus. The guy isn't cranking out comic books at his age so there really isn't shit these people can cancel him from. Maybe he'd be willing to make his appearances on livestreams? Hey, Roy Thomas was willing to do it.
Hey, I'm all for it. But clearly it shouldn't be Perch, who finger wagged. Apparently Ethan knows him, so go for it.
I don't know, there's already a scene for people who are disaffected with the American comics market and are fine with manga as an alternative for Ody to turn to. It's called "manga". I'm curious to see if it's possible that Odysseas can find success as a self-marketing manga artist before settling into the niche role of "Comicsgate Manga". The instagram hype for his solo project Tomahawk Angel looks to be gaining momentum so we'll see.
Yeah, but no one wants to hire Americans to draw manga. There is a stigma surrounding mangaka who are white and/or not Asian.

So if you're looking to work and you're not from Asia; Manga, Manwha, and Manhua aren't the answer.
Frog made a short guest appearance on Nasser's latest livestream to give his thoughts on it: that Canaan simply wasn't making enough money off the page rates from the last few underperforming campaigns to make a living wage and that at the end of the day Canaan's primary responsibility is to supporting himself and his family. He urges the people watching to not judge Canaan too harshly.

Jon Malin as we see had a different stance on this, venting his frustration on Canaan now being forced to denounce Comicsgate for financial reasons after years of steadfastly ignoring everyone's advice being sent his way. Which is also understandable.

Seems he could work and still believe what he believes. I have a hard time anything short of the big two will pay Canaan all that well.

Canaan White made a public display of "leaving" CG. This really pissed off Jon Malin:
Malin needs to stop being a little bitch. Canaan didn't "disavow" anything or talk shit about CG. He said he's leaving it. I think his announcement was foolish and largely arbitrary, as it's not like the mainstream is going to take back someone who has been stained by CG. But Canaan was gracious towards everyone and the replies were full of people wishing him well. Then Malin has to come in and try to stir up outrage for some reason. Get over yourself, man. Let him make his mistakes.

No shit, dude outsourced the entire new issue of his flagship book.

No.

Are you really this stupid? Read it again

@Furyan is to YBZ what @Tyne is to @NasserRabadi13

Speaking of Nasser and typos in comicsgate, hope you did not overpay your editor for 100 days to Halloween, because the book had an easily spotted typo every 5-10 pages.
Nevertheless, it was an enjoyable book for slasher fans and I would gladly have reviewed it positively on the zon and GR if I was not going to powerlevel myself or have evidence I am following an "alt-right" biggot.
I did not have an editor. I self-edited, but typos will always come through if you don't have someone else reading it, because in my mind I know what it's SUPPOSED to say, so if I accidentally type "impales" instead of "impaled" it sort of goes over my head.

Thanks for the kind words.

PS before somebody asks about an editor, I need to reiterate how poorly my previous books sold and that was WITH an editor--thousands of dollars spent and lost. I didn't want to lose thousands more dollars for a book only a few dozen people would buy. I'm still in the hole on this book, but much less than my previous books. And before somebody says "Have your fans proofread it for a credit in the book" (as people suggest often) I've tried that. What ends up happening is people either 1. Don't come through, or 2. Just say "There was a typo on page 6" and that was the only typo they mention, and they have no feedback on the book at all.
Caanan was supposed to draw FEARSOME, which is a complete story in my mind, and will definitely be the third IP I launch at ALL CAPS.

Caanan could be frustrating...when I was ready to do FEARSOME, he was wrapped up in other projects. But then When I’d mention that I was going to draw a remake of the Reservoir Frog cover for the reprint, he’d do it really quick and send it over. Like, “what am I supposed to do with this?”

It’s like he was auditioning for jobs I’d obviously created for myself and ignoring the one I’d created for him.

Anyhow, I’ll find someone new for FEARSOME or draw it myself. Caanan is great but he didn’t really get the visual I was describing to him.
Are you writing it too?

EDIT: Typo

To be fair, Mark Poulton created GRAVEYARD SHIFT with Jon Malin, and Jon has to split the proceeds with him.

Jon is maintaining his share of that IP while creating something all by himself.

That's still one less typo. Maybe you and other mid-tier CG writers who can't afford editors could play editor to one another?

Oh, and BTW, editors do more than proofread. It's a skill like any other and one of the big reasons for Marvel's decline was the massive drain there that started in the Quesada years and shifted into high gear under Alonso. If you're getting someone who has never edited before, they are going to give "typo page 6". I've trained people before and that's Management 101.

That sounds like Jawbreakers Lost Souls 2.0. Jon at least is an artist so his art style will be on his new book.

But I feel like other than you, none of the CG crowd are following you guys own ideas.

EDIT: Typo
Just send it to people anyways. There's no excuse for the excessive mistakes found in CG books, as most are easily preventable. Read your work over a hundred times and have other people scrutinize it before you send it to print. Then do it again with your proof copies. I am much more likely to reread a book without errors than one that is full of them. Maybe it's because I'm a huge sperg and typos hurt my brain as I'm reading, but still.

Hee hee hee
All we need is another person trying to latch on to the jack show using everyone elses footage.

its why PERTH and FINATRA are best friends

I assumed you self-edited. It was a decent effort. But paying a pro was not.
Now, if you have any other author buddies, you can line-edit one another and fix those stupid mistakes and you lose no money out of it.

I'll edit your book for a dollar per page. I've edited several autobiographies in the past year and will provide all the same services as high priced guys. I can prove I actually went to college and I'm not just some grifting sped.
She was complaining at some point about the music in the gym being sexist, I guess she dropped that act and never went back.

Has the fact that she presented herself as a "controversial Comics book personality" to promote books, ever been mentioned here?
She did it for two books.
She went back quickly to being a political agitator.

November 2018?
Explain me why the anti Comicsgate side is not covered here?
You only cover Comicsgate vs former Comicsgate bullshit.
That is all.
I don't care about that.
You don't cover the gatekeeping of the industry which is the reason for the existence of Comicsgate in the first place.
I don't care about War Campaign or Vikkiverse doing a stream talking about the gay ops of other Comicsgate adjacents.
You have perverted this thread, this is why it has stagnated so much.

Okay I'll explain.

1. Most of these speds have already been doxed, talked about, and have their own threads.

2. No one gives a fuck what you care about.

3. If you want to read about gatekeeping in comics read @TheCosmicWarrior blog. The solution to gatekeeping has already been established as building an audience and crowdfunding.

4. This is an entertainment website not a gay conspiracy website.

5. You perverted this thread the day you decided to answer an internet advertisement for a casual meet up behind the pizza parlour. If the topic here makes you this MATI you can always post in the containment thread or in any of the cow threads like your buddies Brian V or Tim Doyle.

6. You sound like that turbotard Reinoe.

Lmao I can't wait to read the "Australian man shot and killed after violent confrontation with comic artist" article from the AP.

Don't be the guy still pointing at the clouds shouting "there's gonna be a flood" while we're already building boats.

@FROG can be Noah. Two copies of every comic book on the ark.

Yes. Renfamous is a non-entity that moved over to kickvic.

Either do something current or fuck off.

Speaking of....

Simple Zach has continued to review new comic releases despite his ultimatum that he was going to take a knee. Probably his spiciest video was a counter to Perch on whether fans held any blame for Future State.

After lighting Mike S Miller on fire in his last video with a healthy dose of comment shenanigans by covered in detail earlier in the thread, @FROG has stopped broadcasting. He's probably knuckling down and actually doing the business of making comics. Horrifying.

Mike S Miller posted a video today. An ongoing part of his cross examinations, Mike began the stream with Crypto Currency figures superimposed over the Cross.

View attachment 1982288

Mike continued to spend forty minutes talking about Crypto Currency and furniture as a dozen or so peeps including our own Nassar Rabbadi shuffled in. Mike finally transitions to Samuel before criticizing other Christians who don't like worldly music? I guess that's a thing? Anyway afterward I felt terrible for Jesus, so if that was Mike's goal, success!

Doug Low T ennapel has continued his Trump videos. He brought Eric Metaxas to talk about God's plan for Trump!

Doug talks about Christians being divided into NeverTrump and Trump. Funny, as I know quite a few who really like Joe Biden. He talks about how NeverTrump Christians piss him off? What does this have to do with comics? Nothing. We had a few Doug simps in here a while ago. But you would think that if he could post all of this inquirer esque clickbait, he could platform actual comics?

Across the isle, I guess, would be people that still give a fuck about the mainstream. Perch posted a video on the great Jim Steranko about why everyone gets mad at him? Perch does his usual bit, trying to straddle the fence so hard it hits his prostate.

This is apparently relating back to Jim's comments on COVID in March. Specifically acknowledging that COVID is a Chinese virus

That's right, Jim acknowledged the virus is from China guys. Cue the inciting violence against "Asians."

Perch can continue to equivocate like a bitch, meanwhile Jim's fine.

View attachment 1982332

Based Jim Steranko. The ultimate Chad and epitome of manliness in comics. They are assblasted that he charges more for an autograph than they make on a page rate. Steranko still does comic covers occasionally and sells old artwork but doesn't take private commissions anymore. The funniest part is Jim was against the Vietnam War and would have been considered a liberal in the late 60's. I can do an in-depth write up of Steranko if there's any interest. That or I'll just make a virgin vs. Chad meme.
Now that Canaan White has left Comicsgate, what is the potential status of the manga book you were talking about back in 2018? The rednecks with cars that turn into mechs, American Manga I think it was called?

I'd humbly suggest hiring Ody to take over Canaan's role as artist. I didn't back Xenotype (for obvious reasons) but from what I've heard his artwork was the best part of that book. Ody's black and white version of the book was received better than the colored version, so I'd even suggest producing the book in black and white which means you'd save money and time on not hiring Kyle Ritter to color it. Ody is rumored to be able to pump out 3 pages a day, meaning a decent sized book could be produced rather quickly.

You could even hire a writer from CG, perhaps Keung Lee, Raging Golden Eagle or Yellowflash to polish your script, so you could still focus on Rekt Planet, Reignbow Brute and Cyberfrog 3. With an EVS cover, Ody on art, the assistant writer, the book could be done and fulfilled rather quickly and is almost certainly guaranteed to hit over six figures.

Rednecks with cars? You mean transformers?

Has anyone heard anything about paypiggons since he got doxed? I wonder if our boy Troy is still funding anything other than buying YBZ comic books.
