The way to survive the death of YouTube is your mailing list. Doug does have a mailing list, and although it's difficult to grow that list without YouTube, you can at least maintain communication and promote your projects with it.
YouTube will nuke his art channel. I guess Doug realizes this, so he's using it now as an SOS beacon to point his audience towards his new platforms.
Fuck Doug. He's a complete shithead, and I really dislike him. This is all fucking horrible, though.
Only IDIOTS AND FOOLS make a digital economy their total livelihoods. Why give your freedoms to some mega corporations so they can use and abuse you like a secondary tampon?
This is the difference between myself and many... many who want to create. You are right about a mailing list, but that is a tangible asset.
Tangible assets are what separates those who have real power over their lives and those who are twitter thumb warriors wailing away at someone else on why they fucking fail at life.
This is why I have IP's and IP attorneys handling my IP's. Stuff I created over the years. Tangible assets... which can be a real home that you worked hard for and have paid off.
Smart people use YT as
one of many tools to get ahead, but it is
only a tool. IMHO if you make it (YT) your total livelihood... well your chances of success are about the same as a college foot ball player being picked by a NFL team during Draft Day.
We both know the hundreds of artists over the years that worked in the entertainment industry that have absolutely nothing to their name, being used and abused before being shitted out by those said corporations. It's a rough industry to be in. And I know how hard the entertainment industry can be, which is why it was never ever my primary career choice.
But what gets me is these fucking pussies, that never knew what hardship is about, that wants to be awarded for anything and everything and then trying to say that "they" the ones being oppressed? Yea Just Like Safe Space and Snow Flake.
It was these assholes... These gate keepers that caused the collapse of the US comic industry and they continue to ignore the fact that it was THEM who destroyed the industry and not the customer base.
This is one of the flaws of the Cancel Culture, They don't know when to stop. It is a scorch earth policy on just about everything they are involved and believe that they are always right.
As long as they pay me my money rent on my various leases of investment properties that I own, they can twitter all they want about how rough they have it because they ran out of soy milk for the day.
And I'll just simply smile all the way to the bank with their money.in hand
Which of course is a Tangible Asset.
