unpopular opinion but, I really don’t see how Kim and Kim is a rip off of Dirty Pair. They don’t look similar at all aside from being female and edgy for their time. Mags does have a legit case for Space Bandits being a ripoff since the characters look very similar.

Anything can be called a copy of anything by anyone looking to twist facts to their argument. I've heard salty people claim Kamen America/Carly is a copy of Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel. To which I would respond that Carly doesn't look like a man.

Ya Boi seems to think Space Bandits was basically Millar taking Mags' idea of "two non-conventionally-attractive young women (by some description) get in space adventures" and doing it better. Kind of like a parody but not intended as a joke. I think that's a fair assessment.

No, Kim and Kim's characters do not look like Dirty Pair's, but I think the point is more broadly that the idea of "two young women get in adventures" is not Mags' original idea. Thelma and Louise would be another example.

It's all kind of a tempest in a teacup no matter what side you take, though. I doubt we'll get a lolsuit out of this. But who knows.

That’s… literally the joke, though, her last name is Vanders.

It’s a parody, not a ripoff.

Just a bit ago, Overlord DVD Future Ruler of the Earth Doctor Von Doomcock posted this

Now, let me dive into the 6 hour snorestream that started all this for the good bits...

Edit:
It all starts at this point:
Gary cracks a joke about KK leaving soon and everybody laughs.
One minute and change later Ryan Kimel calls out Doomcock viewers.
He said something along the line of "If you watch a dude saying he has 8 different sources and what he is saying is not happening and you still believe him, you are a fucking retard. You might as well go and simp for Geeky Pixie." Then he namedrops Doomcock while Gary sips from his coffee so people do not see him smiling I guess.
There is some very weak resistance, then they all agree that KK is here to stay and Doomcock is talking through his ass.

Which is technically true and everybody would agree that listening to Doomcock is a strong indication you are a retard.

Doomcock is informed about it on twitter:
Then he starts the pity party:

Not surpised to see a certain Landwhale popping in the pitty party

My favorite part of Merry's "apology" is her saying she wanted to protect people. The people she thought she was protecting are fucking adults. In Merry's defense, TFM do act like retarded children when it comes to Star Wars, so maybe she thinks they do need her protection. I wonder who Sheriff Merry's next investigation will be on now that all the people with "Geeky" in there names have been rooted out.
By people she meant that she wanted to protect simps. Because the only people wanting to watch her and give her money are the ones horny and pathetic enough to get catfished. She's a c-grade thot and I hope they keep her around because this is far from the last disaster from her (or Mecha for that matter).

“Sometimes you have to remind people why your name is Doomcock”

You really don’t, you crazy old fucking grifter.

However this is a semi-interesting development. For a good while, Gary and DvD saw themselves as the axis of TFM; regularly streaming together. With Gary’s refusal to defend his old partner and Doomcock’s notorious over-sensitivity, that relationship may well be now in jeopardy.

As clueless and as deluded as Doomcock is, he struck me at least as being faithful to his cohorts - it is however apparent that Gary is shedding all ‘dead wood’ not pertinent to his livestream grift. Gary has no friends in this game - everyone is expendable to him.

I wonder if this is a pre-emptive distancing by the FNT gang from Doomcock to further re-write history as ‘we WUZN’t TFM or shiet’, or if quite simply DvD’s endless made-up ‘sources’ finally proved enough for even the rumour mill grifters to tolerate.

Either way, shrewd moves, mein manchildren hosts.

I posted these before, but here you go. He WAS completely fine with 50-50, then after talking to YellowFlash and Umbrella Guy decided he needed $12,300.

I know I've gone over this before, but since Peter is a complete cuck, I guess I should go over it again:

An artist with a track record and reputation and who doesn't draw as cartoony as he does would probably get that $12,300. 99.99999999999% of artists don't maker that on their first ever comic book. And since Trixie did $23,422, that would be paying him over half of what we knew I could bring in--that would be like trying to print, ship, and buy everything else (and not to mention IGG fees) with 40% of the campaign money.

The bottom line is that he drew 24 pages of the book, fully penciled inked colored and lettered, and was absolutely fine with doing it for 50-50, until those two dudes talked him out of it. There's no way around it. None of it's a "lie" like he says. He cucked out because they told him to. He priced himself out. He knew there was no way I was going to raise that much to pay him. Shawn Langley is an infinitely better artist than Peter Gilmore, and Stardust only did $16,000 and Trixie $23,000. $39,000 between both, that's nowhere near enough to pay Shawn $12,300. And I'm supposed to believe PETER of all people will bring in $75,000+, which is about the lowest I'd need in order to pay an artist that much money.

Peter's new book with Mandy is 48 pgaes. Plus the cover, that's $9,800 at the rate he wanted. If their book raised $11,575, that's $1,775 and we're not even counting Indiegogo fees yet. Is Mandy REALLY putting out her entire book for $1,400? I don't think so. There is no way on earth he's getting that from this book.

Peter also forgets I was still on great terms with @FROG and Malin at this time, I even had recently been on That Star Wars Girl's channel to promote Trixie Cain Blood Reaper (I think that stream is private now, since she was privating streams at the time afterwards).

His BS and donal's happening at the same time is what made me leave. I was tired of people I thought were my friends (donal, Peter, YellowFlash, Umbrella Guy) messing with my books.

BUT I really don't think there's any reason the book should go to waste. I keep telling him we can just launch a campaign with those finished 24 pages and if it fails oh well he doesn't need to draw more of it. And if it succeeds then he'd just finish the rest of it.

Peter just posted this link yesterday. If you want to check out what was finished, you can read Ducktor Satan here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1kqsRtDMOTsfMb5xnInSiLlC5at5zZJ8Q/view

I'd like to take a moment to advocate on behalf of the trees that might be killed in order to make the pulp to print "Ducktor Satan" on...

Holy shit.

Move forward, Nasser, and never look back again.

You're right.

I think my flagship book is going to be CREEPSTERS. I love the script, and I've got somebody I want to hire. Haven't worked out the pitch yet, but an asteroid mutates an ancient nest of eggs into CREEPSTERS--tiny monsters that go around causing mischief.

It's sort of my Critters/Gremlins/Ghoulies. I think having a lot of tiny monsters is very marketable (something I desperately need), and it opens up the world to a lot of stories to tell, a lot of mishap these monsters can get into.

No worse than mailed in low effort garbage like Zach's 499, for all that the artwork here is not exactly something for the ages. Heck, must admit I even got a chuckle from the unexpected Cecil in Hell cameo.

Granted the old line actors use about "Dying is easy, comedy is hard," seems to apply here, in the sense that trying to be funny is actually damned difficult, and this book didn't really seem to be able to pull it off. At least I got a sense an effort was being made.

All of these books are a fem-spin on the classic story of two buddies getting into adventures together. Kim&Kim's premise more closely resembles Dirty Pair than Space Bandits resembles Kim&Kim.

Brian V is a pathetic drama drag queen fishing for attention on the back of Millar's unbelievably successful career. The envy is palpable.

Saying Space Bandits is a rip-off of Kim&Kim is like saying Lethal Weapon is a rip-off of Butch and Sundance.

At least @Nasser is ineptly honest enough to admit it when his latest "idea" is a rip-off of Gremlins mashed up with various other Gremlins rip-offs 35+ yrs old.

Good luck with it. Maybe it will be as good as Munchies or Hobgoblins.

Just so you know, Nasser, you can use Gremlins as it isn't copyrightable. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gremlin#In_media

maybe not story wise but the character designs are too similar to ignore. I am going with YBZ‘s theory that Millar was doing this as a parody or a fuck you to Mags in showing her how to do the genre right.
