EVS being interviewed on some show I'd never heard of before the Buck Sexton show.

I remember when Buck worked for The Blaze. He would be brought into segments on either Glenn Beck's radio program or TV show that were related to the intelligence community, due to his background as an intelligence officer in the CIA. He then was given his own show after Jay Severin's show was canceled. As his audience grew, Buck would sometimes fill in for Rush Limbaugh and on February 1, 2017, he became the host of America Now (which was later renamed The Buck Sexton Show).

EvS looks to be commenting on the FM situation on his channel shortly.

Edit: now stream sniping Gary's stream.

Why's this privated? If you're going to chop a guy off at the knees at least have the decency to keep your faggotry up for the world to see.

I just wanted to shitpost about BBC and thot cops, then I see all these dumb faggots doing everything they can to make enemies of each other. They've got a world full of SJWs just itching to take them down, so instead of working on their gay funny books or doing something productive they constantly stream their faggotry for the world to see and attack people loyal to their cause. Doomcock says dumb shit. Okay then. But you all say dumb shit, especially that dumb whore who came on H's stream to talk about how fucking funny and smart and cute and awesome she is and how Doomcock is jealous of her so he told a lame joke. It's like all you faggots saw that terrible King Arthur movie but because you have dyslexia you took his "Why have enemies when I can have friends?" line and spun it around.

499 looks gay as hell and that Obama-loving liberal needs his ass kicked for being such a slow bitch. I hope Stallone punches him in the kidneys.

Did he and Tom King drown muslims together?

Ethan has a bad habit of doing that. He might say it was for the Algorithm.

I am in a very small minority of people that think the film adaptation of Howard the Duck got unfairly shit on.

In fact, I think it was a stupendous movie.

That movie was bad and you should feel bad. :lit:

Also hi Stu.

I would guess that this is Ethan being a narcissist. He has a tendency to say completely different things one next to the other, because they make him look good. And I am certain he believes them.

Also, CG did not started as a political movement. It was YBZ being frustrated he could not buy "good comics" and Marvel executives calling fans nazis.
(Comics, by Perch, who reads us, had a really interesting take on this btw

YBZ is your average white male Gen X working class voter and he even voted for Obama., to the point I gasp if he ever mentions a political stance to the right of center.

But it was Zack screaming SJWs!!! that got him attention and traction and also a lot of SJWs screaming Nazi that turned CG into a rightwing movement.

EVS seems to me more like your run of the mill libertarian Republican supporter, not a hard core Christian or identarian rightwinger like Doug, Edwin or Mike. Hell, even Sweetcast is a more hardcore rightwinger than those two.
I can see Republican Ethan feeling doubts about Trump before election (since Trump took over the party) but changing his mind once he was elected and his team held the reins.

Edit: Drunk3PO explains the Doomcock situation much clearer here:
Every time Doomcock starts a rumor, other channels and publications report on it as truth and he (and I guess other Fandom Rejects) get bombarded with DMs and emails and then they alienate their audience when they report otherwise.
This creates the schism in Fandom Rejects.

I essentially dislike all of these people.

The missing thing in this whole tard swarm is that Gary is the bread tuber equivalent of Mr Piggons. On one side Kinnel and Jermey are cucked Snyderbronies who lost their fucking cred when they let Zach Snyder call them racists to their faces. :story:

Meanwhile, Doomcuck seems to believe he can say anything as long as he uses the phrase 'grain of salt' before it.

Both of them have shows with Gary and need access to him. People who think Ryan went rogue or that Jermey isn't an insecure bitch are insane. We saw this in CG with CAP channel. Other people are a threat and you want to gatekeep.

This is all about that grift my Kiwis. The more Cucks and Gamers losers Jeremy can get on with Gary the better and Doomcuck is competition.

That movie was bad and you should feel bad.
I don't.
Lea Thompson made it all worth it. :feels:

It fills my heart with utter joy to watch Fandom Menace continue to implode. Most of the YouTubers in that stupid ass group have less worth than hair on an ass crack. Watching these morons eat each other has been a delight. I was worried if it was going to end after the red headed lesbian of doom and autism stopped her flailing, but the Jared fiasco kicked up, now we have the Doomcock shit. Amazing.

Lol. Seethe more, Word Nerd. Good to know he won't let go of Ethan shitting on his retarded ass comic.

I don't.

Doug Ernst was active doing political comics videos for a long time on YT before Richard and to a degree provided Richard with a template to copy. As far as I
remember, I think Ernst kicked off nearly all the early CG feuds (Slott, Bendis, Gabby Rivera's America and possibly Waid) with Marvel. Richard tended to move along in his wake
until Richard surged in popularity and became THE man.

As far as Richard goes, he always struck me as a really dumb guy who wasn't all that political and was typical of people who never voted. Ernst and Captain Cummings were
the early hard-core political guys. But Richard's retard charisma eventually pushed him beyond the others.

The myth of Richard has also somewhat replaced the reality of Richard in CG. Richard was a guy who had been doing comics since maybe 2008. He got into crowdfunding
comics in 2015 with the original Jawbreakers. That book was three years late and wasn't any good. But when Richard's popularity on youtube took off, he was able to get
everyone to forget that the original Jawbreakers even happened. People started to believe that he was this guy who decided to start doing comics in 2018 and was stopped
by Mark Waid from doing them.

The way to get an understanding (IMO) of the "real" Richard and how he thinks is to read his book: "Four in the Corps". He was a guy leading a dumb life who got into legal
trouble and then tried to run away from his old life by going into the marines.

Politics were always a part of CG from the beginning. What Richard attracted into CG by the SJWs screaming "nazi" was alot of non-political people who saw it as a way
to make money until something else came along. TUG is the poster child for the non-political con men type of guy that came into CG. Then after Richard made big
money with "Lost Souls", a second wave of people came in who were strictly in it for the money and didn't care about politics at all. The politics vs. non-politics has
always been a tension. And something that has at various times been pushed or not pushed.

She ain't bad looking, but there's better. Howard the Duck is shit.

Wow.

And yet, it's STILL not the worst thing George Lucas ever did. 🤣

Unfortunately.

I'm hard pressed to think of anything worse than Howard. Though Last time I watched it was ten years ago.

Doug Ernst was active doing political comics videos for a long time on YT before Richard and to a degree provided Richard with a template to copy.

It was him and Cummings? Maybe Mim or the others.

As far as I remember, I think Ernst kicked off nearly all the early CG feuds (Slott, Bendis, Gabby Rivera's America and possibly Waid) with Marvel. Richard tended to move along in his wake until Richard surged in popularity and became THE man.

Richard appealed to a kindof of libertarian cuck while at the same time being a better showman and spicier than Earnst and far saner and coherent than Cummings.

As far as Richard goes, he always struck me as a really dumb guy who wasn't all that political and was typical of people who never voted. Ernst and Captain Cummings were the early hard-core political guys. But Richard's retard charisma eventually pushed him beyond the others.

Richard is a Republican who has voted albeit infrequently

The myth of Richard has also somewhat replaced the reality of Richard in CG. Richard was a guy who had been doing comics since maybe 2008.

Oh my, earlier than that. He tried to break in originally before failing and joining the military. They guys been trying to write/draw comics his entire adult life with nothing but failure until CG. He even had a portfolio he'd show to pros.

Politics were always a part of CG from the beginning. What Richard attracted into CG by the SJWs screaming "nazi" was alot of non-political people who saw it as a way to make money until something else came along.

Yeah. Grifting a movement.

TUG is the poster child for the non-political con men type of guy that came into CG. Then after Richard made big

It's this weird facet of all internet gates. You have the actual base for most Gates. Predominantly conservative people. Then you have this small, overly vocal libertarian subset that comes in. They want to 'clean up' the awful social conservative aspects. It's how you get allot of these guys. Gary, Rags and Mauler, Ethan. Social liberals who want to triangulate with the 'sane' left to reign in the crazies.

The problem is the politics in media are all social. Heteronormativity, culture, and freedom of belief. Gina Carano wasn't fired because she wanted tax cuts or to own a gun. It was because of pronouns. Richard's big targets? A book of faggotry called America Chavez. The destruction of masculinity and heterosexuality. You were never going to triangulate with the Sane Social Left.

It was him and Cummings? Maybe Mim or the others.
Cummings was around. But he erased his entire history and there is no way to go back and confirm details about him now.
He has moved on to creating conflict over fitness and exercise related subjects these days. He remains erratic.

A real historical oddity is this Capn Cummings test animation from 2017 by Zombienomicon
No idea why this was done or what they were planning..

The list of early known people on Youtube is:
- Doug Ernst (active in 2016 or possibly before doing comics material)
- Cummings (probably started in early 2017 but exact dates unknown)
- Captain Frugal (January 2017)
- Engetine (March 2017)
- Richard (probably April 2017)
- Mim (June 2017)

All of them were somewhat inspired by each other and riffing off each others videos developing the
"form" of it.

Vox Day was also involved. His alt-hero book got kicked off kickstarter at some point in 2017 (I think) and
he came back with his own crowdfunding platform around maybe September 2017. Vox created alot of
chatter around SJWs and marvel that existed kind of in parallel to the Ernst/Cummings/Richard videos.

The "second wave" of people who came in based on Richard's popularity (or copying Richard) was around August-September 2017.

The con men IMO started coming into the movement at the very end of 2017.

I'm hard pressed to think of anything worse than Howard.
This.

Even Lucas himself admits it.

Howard the Duck had Lea Thompson, Tim Robins, a great John Berry soundtrack, and a few good one liners. Ed Gale says he gets more fan mail for Howard than Chucky.

I just like 80s cheese. The movie is so ridiculous, it becomes awesome. Sue me.

Sorry, no.

Excusing Howard the Duck as some kind of 80s kitsch pseudo-cool slice of nostalgia, with a few interesting actors, sadly won’t stop it going down in history as one giant, cinematic stool sample.

Leaving livestreams up apparently messes with the Almighty YouTube Algorithm™. Makes the channel less accessible/recommended on YouTube. People see it is four hours of sperging, watch a minute or two and bounce. Can't do anything to jeapordize the squealing of the paypiggies.

This pattern seems to repeat in every web based "movement". GamerGate/CG/FandomMenace/WeebWars
-It starts out grass roots and everyone is on the same page because everyone agrees about their grievances/goal.
-Then popular voices start to take center stage as the group begins to grow.
-And then the chink in the armor appears when those front runners monetize their popularity. (I don't blame them for monetizing it. After all they earned that popularity by doing the work and having the charisma to attract people to "the movement")
-Money leads to more content which leads to increased growth which is all good. The money also begins to scale up with the increased following though. A positive feedback loop.
-This is where it starts to get hinky though. People start their own platforms to get in in on that money. -They may agree with "the movement" but their primary motivation is to cash in.
-People who were there early also have a natural change of motivation and start to produce content just to feed the logarithm and get more money and "the movement" is becoming a tool for that.
-At this point "the movement" has become an avenue for achieving personal goals of content creators more than it's an avenue to "make change" and "the movement's" goals have fractured due to those goals differing from one content creator to the next.
-The "we're all in this together" atmosphere is replaced with an environment of competition as there are only so many followers in the overall group and they only have so much attention/money to throw at "the movement".
-Consciously or unconsciously these content creators slowly become bitter and resentful of each other as they compete but they try to keep it quiet publicly (at first) so as not to derail the gravy train.
-This is smart and it may even work for a while but there are some small (and retarded) content creators at this point who feel entitled to get a ticket to the gravy train who feel no such need to keep resentments quiet.
-Even some retarded larger content creators who are jealous or overly competitive may not feel the need to keep in-fighting quiet.
-As public drama ensues views actually go up at first as people invested in "the movement" care about the creators and/or the damage this does to the movement. But more views mean more money.
-Seeing the money that's being made off drama content creators react accordingly to the incentives creating more drama content as it's cathartic and lucrative.
-Seeing the money made or genuinely concerned about the shit show "the movement" is becoming more creators join in and the shit show balloons to the point where new people coming into "the movement" have little to no idea what it was originally about. Now it's just cult of personality and entertainment.
-Multiple creators have long since redefined "the movement" to fit their personal needs and instead of a movement unified behind a common grievance/goal the group is now a mess of factions filled with people following whoever has the YT channel they like best.
-Many people who joined the movement because of the original grievances or goals have long since left in disgust at what it all became and more will leave as it becomes gayer and gayer.

At this point whatever "movement" actually existed early on is a barely recognizable mess of infighting and backstabbing for personal benefit where the followers are weaponized against factions within the group and the sources of the original grievance are an after thought or something to pay lip-service to as the actual enemy has become each other in a competition for a bigger slice of the clout/cash pie.

And by this point "the movement" has been dead for some time.

TLDR; It all starts out "fighting the good fight" but in-fighting over greed and clout turns it into a pathetic shit show.

Most of this breakdown started in mid 2018 for CG and the movement was dead by mid 2019 at the latest. It certainly was a fractured mess by then. Everything since then has been content about drama or culture war stuff for clicks only and none of the creators are paying much attention to why the whole thing started in the first place.

There's no money in that anymore.

It was him and Cummings? Maybe Mim or the others.

The movie did well with kids and entertained some adults as well. Lea Thompson in her underwear made a lot of 12 yr olds tighty whiteys tighter and it had a 'catchy guitar riff and radio friendly sound'.

Absolutely EVERYONE hates Nickleback but they've been charting and selling out arenas for 20 years.

I'm pretty sure everyone gets a pass for 2008, 1984, 1972.

The breakdown started at the beginning of July 2018 with the fight over "Trump: Space Force" and the movement died when everyone went nuclear on each other over the Pan/Brad Ashcroft thing & #CGONLY in March 2019. There was actually a real moment in between those events when the movement part of it died. One day certain people stopped calling it a movement and started calling it a "community."

Words mean things. And when something changes from a movement to a community, it also transitions into (a) something with leaders/hierarchy, (b) standards for membership in the community and (c) a system where there are people inside & outside of it.

Was there a better comic adaptation in the 80s?
Well, there was Batman 1989. Widely credited as restoring "legitimacy" to the comic book movie genre. For a time, anyways. Once Tim Burton left and Joel Schumacher took over, it became a train wreck again.

But yeah. Howard might actually get the #2 spot. The secret to Howard the Duck is to not take it seriously. It's a comedy. Sometimes unintentionally. Almost everything else from that decade tried to play it straight, and it didn't work out.

Here's a head scratcher:

Would you rather buy into any CG affiliated campaign that's going on right now...

OR

The novelization of Howard the Duck? Available from this site for $6.99.

I might actually spring for the novel. 🤣

No mention of the Captain America film with Italian Red Skull? Shame.

the early hard-core political guys.

Thing was Cummings and Doug Ernst were boring as fuck. YBZ, Mim Headroom and JSG were fun to watch and they grew to be the faces of CG.
And most of the political CGers were more boring that drying paint. Micah Curtis, Sweetcast, Edwin, The Fourth Age, dammit, these people have zero charisma at best. David Steward and J Ishiro Finley can actually do decent videos, but they are CG adjucent.

Richard has said again and again while discussing overdue campaigns that he was underfunded with Jawbreakers and refunded everyone , then gave the PDF for free. One reason I back Lost Soul was because Jawbreakers #1 read decently. Lost Soul was also decent (but #2 was bad and #3 so so).

And 2017 YBZ was both a reasonable person trying to understand why the comicbook industry has shat the bed and a manchild going into rages over comicbooks.
His "if SJWs leave comics will be fine" caught on though. And he took those ideas from Cummings and Ernst, who he often quoted.

He could easily be the guy who takes take-out tacos from various awful restaurants, tearing them apart, explaining why this businesses fail and he would have some 2 million subs - because no matter if you are left leaning or right leaning, you can feel for a guy who gets inferior product.
CG, overall, has forgotten that it started over inferior product and bad customer service, this is why it is shrinking.
