It still astounds me that people in this thread don't seem to grasp this basic concept. That comicsgate, a group that has made much about being alpha-Ts rather than soyboys, scratches its collective head when some guy would prefer to forego the 'privilege' to be someone elses dancing monkey on a string.
Mike may be a fuckup with late books, that's par for the course for comics crowdfunding. That part of comics crowdfunding with any kind of connection to comicsgate, anyway. And now Mike is trying to find a "new EVS", latching on to Shadiversity, BitBoy, etc. and working on other people's properties instead of being able to crowdfund his own. In a recent stream (I don't have the link or time stamp unfortunately) Mike had said something about needing to work on other people's properties to build his own audience. If he didn't follow Doug's lead then he'd still be able to crowdfund any book he wanted.

So yeah, Mike doesn't really care about his "values" or "hard work" or "building an audience" or anything, he just wants to latch onto someone that's gonna funnel him backers ASAP. Which, I guess would be fine, if he would just be up front about it instead of lying and pretending to have morals.

It might be true that there's hardly a handful of people involved with comics that won't stab you in the back and take you for everything you're worth the moment you let your guard down.
