I hear typical Bernie Bro "socialists" and their ilk talk about how evil copyright is, but they don't realize that it's actually center-left.

Yeah, communist regimes don't have them, but you know what else wouldn't? Ancap societies. Why's that? Because copyrights require government.

Yeah, that's right, copyrights are government intervention in the free market, supposed to protect people who come up with something from having it stolen without getting anything in return. Sounds pretty damn leftist to me. Of course, they just won't admit it is because of how badly it's exploited.

Shut the fuck up I will beat you with my own two fists copyright may have been abused by disney to extend their ownership over the rat but copyright still has a valuable place in our society how dare you say you'd ever create something without affording yourself others the protections necessary to prevent others from stealing your work fucking god fucking shit I swear to god im going to beat your ass how do you even sleep at night not thinking copyright is necessary for a functioning society

Copyrights are apparently leftist since the pronoun brigade is always whining about Onlyfans piracy

Why are you so mad bro? Copying isn't stealing and there's already too many artists and "content creators" in our society, people shouldn't reward them as much as they do.
Every time I see an bratty writefag or drawfag like you that think they're entitled to other people's charity I make a pledge to pirate one more thing and buy one less thing, reason why I'm not spending a penny this Steam Summer Sale.
Get fucked.

To build on how they're at odds with reality....

They are still very different on the topic. Berniebro socialists only have a problem with other people's copyright. They rarely create anything of value. But when they do, they'll defend the copyright more vicariously than Disney does.
Their discontent comes, at its core, from being less capable and wanting to equalize results.

Some ancap heroes like molyneux also vehemently attack people even if they barely breach copyright.

I think most ancaps would want copyrights to exist in a different way. They would I assume believe in both a creator's right to own something and a competitor to use similar ideas. They would, I assume, support a privately developed technique to have legal right to be defended (against espionage for example).

At some level it always breaks down, because for all people's thoughts about non-iniation of force, you do need authority to resolve conflicts. Who else are you going to bitch about?
