Have you seen anything that has caught your eye on Kickstarter, Indiegogo, GoFundMe or sites like them? These very much seem like sites where often times your mileage will vary. Sometimes money is used for an idea that is done in a timely manner or in other times it takes years to pay off, sometimes never.

I don't know what you're talking about but I think you should check out this new project on Kickstarter. It's called the Ouya. It promises to be the future of the gaming industry.

I only knew one person who bought the OUYA, and now they are DEAD. Really makes you think.
I knew a guy who had access to a preproduction OUYA and I just outright told him it was the most retarded thing I've ever heard of. Nobody bought the console for mobile games because it's retarded. And I was fucking right.

I backed the System Shock remake back then.
They did end up delivering (After 1000 years in devhell), and the game was gold, but never again am I backing or pre-ordering.

I've never backed anything because with my luck I would back some garbage and get screwed but I'd say Hollow Knight is a good example of a successful kickstarter.
