So I've been inspired by Chris fanworks to create my own comic based on him and Sonichu called CWC on the Draw. It places Chris & friends in a setting inspired by the old west, with all the different kinds of crazy events that go down in all your favourite western inspired media. I'm still brainstorming ideas, but heres what I've thought up so far.

Its set in some pseudo-North America type setting , where the settlers are slowly building towns and developing the country. The plot revolves around Chris, who was mistakenly appointed mayor a settlement despite only recently migrating there. The settlement is named Quickville, but Chris (being naive) thought it was named after his 3 initials and thought the job was made for him. Instead of doing some actual mayor work, Chris screws around and hunts bounty instead, leaving his friends and acquaintances to run the town for him.

I'm thinking of ways to incorporate the Sonichus, villains, and even a Kiwi Saloon.

The Jerkops are a Pinkertons like orginazation.
Mary Lee Walsh is Chris's former schoolteacher turned gang leader.
All the chu's are basically old timey versions of what little personality they have. (Wild is a mountain man, Punchy is a "warrior from the savage orient", Angelica is a circuit preacher, ect...)

This sound like a really sweet idea. Are you planning to mix some steam punk\sci-fi elements into that western setting? Either way, I'm looking forward to it.

The townspeople hire the Chaotic Combo to defend the town, "Magnificent Seven"-style, because the mayor can't be bothered. He's too busy hanging around the Western Union office all day sending telegrams to his latest heartsweet.

These are really good ideas. Mind if I use these? lol

I'm not much of a fan of steampunk, so probably not. However some characters will wield some weapons which are pretty futuristic.

Oh, this sounds like really swell idea!
If it's in the Old West setting, would that mean that the "Cherokians" would make an appearance?

Certainly. At one point Chris and Sonichu try to integrate themselves into their culture as a means of peace between the tribe and Quickville but screw things up.

Believe it or not, it's actually been done once before. It was part of a series called "Chris Chan Country".
However it was only an audio reading with some titles cards and they stopped after only the second episode.

Seen here:

I think it's still a great concept and deserves a full comic like you are planning. Go for it.

Go for it. Chris cybering via telegraph was, sadly, the first thing that popped into my head when I read your idea.

Well, that and remake of Carnivale starring Magi-Chan, but that's probably harder to work in without screwing up your whole story.

Go ahead! I'd love to help out.
Oh, how about weapon ideas?

LeMat Revolver, a revolver with a freakin shotgun in the middle.
200px-Apache_revolver.jpg
Apache revolver, a combination revolver, knife, and brass knuckle.
250px-Gatling_gun.jpg
Gatling gun
220px-AllenAndThurberPepperbox.jpg
Pepper box pistol. Each barrel contains a bullet and powder, and must be reloaded individually.
220px-Colt_SAA_US_Artillery_RAC.jpg
Colt Single Army Action.
As for chaotic combo suggestions...
Magichan's either an Aliester Crowley like Spiritualist, or a voodoo priest.
Bubble's....uhhh, shit, she had the least personality. Maybe a frontier doctor?
Giovanni's a former confederate colonel turned villainous tycoon.
Robtnik's a mad scientist version of Nikolai Tesla.
Jack Tompson (ADF) is a "Bomb-throwing anarchist sodomite).

Go ahead! I'd love to help out.

Each important character is going to have their own special gun. Chris gets a yellow Sonichu themed revolver, Mary Lee Walsh has a powerful shotgun that's shaped like a pitchfork, ect. Ill definitely take inspiration out of these guns if any characters need them, so thanks!

I loved this, wished the guy continued it, I'd loved to see the episode where Old Man Snyder finally leaves down and how the new Chandler residence caught fire during an ambush!

Oh man, I love Westerns! I can't believe I just noticed this thread now! I would very much like to assist in a Western re-imagining of Sonichu.

So Chris is the mayor of Quickville, Sonichu is the sheriff, and the Chaotic Combo (Chaotic Compadres?) are his deputies. Giovanni could appear as a wealthy plantation owner/crimelord who has his eye set on taking over Quickville. Blachu could be a contract killer who acts as Giovanni's right-hand man. Wes Islei could be a war chief who leads the Wasabi Indians in raids against the settlement. Bluespike, "The Kid," could be a particularly unhinged and sadistic young outlaw intent on tormenting the beloved mayor to no end.

Of course, its not just the dreaded trolls Chris fights with. Chris could be eternally at odds with Micheal Snyder, the owner of the general store, and BILLY MAYS, a traveling snake oil and cleaning materials salesman. The most allusive of these business-owning adversaries would of course be the pickle vendor, a freed slave who frequently beguiles Chris and steals his potential sweethearts. Other troublesome townsfolk could include Mr. LoGatto, a self-proclaimed orator who irrationally despises the mayor, Mr. Connors, an alleged former soldier who's trying to rally support for a filibustering mission so he can start his own "nation," and Mr. Church, an extremely smart erotica writer who struggles with speaking the English language.

...and who could forget *yawn*, the local opium cultivator? Or Dr. Bill Schwartz, the doctor with an ambiguous doctorate who aids Giovanni? Or what about the Forums, a saloon where only the most base and slanderous wretches gather to drink reeb? Null, the barkeep, and his patrons gather in secret and take the piss out of the mayor when he isn't looking. There's also the Judge, a pig-like man that stands around idly making ominous comments about sodomy, and Hunger, a Corgikin who's proclaimed herself the queen of all her kind.

Also, I got bored and made this image.

Not sure if I'm too late to make a suggestion, but how about a group of lawmen frequently dispatched to handle Chris's self-inflicted catastrophes consisting of Baggett in command, Keino, Officer Nasty, Gerald Grant and Louis Perez? Chris could disdainfully refer to them as, "Them dang Jerk Cops..." Additionally, Marvey Blaziken as the town's slick corrupt attorney in the vein of Better Caul Saul?
