There are some possibilities:

1. he had been planning to kill someone and then flee to Turkey. Retarded but the most likely explanation given his behavior and statements.
2.he was going to take his nuisance streaming act on the road to an Islamic country. Almost as retarded so it can't be ruled out.
3.he was having a low cost medical procedure done. He has a full head of hair and good teeth so I find this unlikely.
4.He was going to meet some big time donor of his that lives in Istanbul. Possible but also seems unlikely.
5.He was going to go on vacation in Istanbul. Honestly the least likely explanation.

Ultimately 1 is the most likely explanation given everything.

I don't get why it's so hard to understand. Grifters have been latching onto activism (however stupid the topic may be) for ages now.
