Careercow Dan Harmon - Creator of Community, co-creator of Rick and Morty, and barely functional alcoholic

once kids grow out of Peppa Pig, they go on social media apps and never come back
I'd say Peppa Pig became irrelevant once Bluey stepped into the picture to become the new trendy animated preschool show.

But yea, it's no doubt that Rick & Morty has long-ago edged out Robot Chicken as Adult Swim's most popular show. So, if they're DO have someone take over the show and even hire someone that can do impressions of Roiland's original voices, they need to consider themselves lucky for a while until the normies or zoomer generation move on to something else that's destine to become a hit.

Panic move, had CN waited for a hot minute and this would all go away in a spam of a month. Roiland ain't Johnny Depp to milk this drama far enough, and twitter is already going after the next cancellation.

Roiland isn't going anywhere, and he is very well connected, he will land somewhere else after the dust settles.

But by kicking out Roiland from Rick and Morty, CN just made it impossible for this whole thing to go "away", because whenever new episodes of R&M come out, whoever they get to do a impression of the Roiland studder will be a constant reminder of what happened, and regardless if the fanbase gets behind the new voice or not, they just made sure the stain will never go away.

And that fucks up the real way cartoon and shit make money: licencing and merchandising. Rick and Morty is just about the only original IP they have that does lend to multi media shit, from t-shirts to fortnite skins, cartoon are in dire situattion right now that they can't reach the tiktok generation, once kids grow out of Peppa Pig, they go on social media apps and never come back, and Rick and Morty is one of the few that managed to be in the public eye.

I couldn't give a hot fuck about Roiland and Rock and Morty personally, I'm just impressed on how fast a channel that is struggling to keep the lights on is when it comes to kill their golden goose.

And for what? to keep twitter happy... Hope it was worth it.

Hasn't anybody learned from the Johnny Depp trial yet? I swear those suits never learn. Are they seriously letting Dan run the show now?

He's only as good as his team and as long he's sober and not being creepy. Even than that's a dicey situation. He's at least one accusation from being fired as well. Not like they have just cause or anything, oh no.

It's not like it hasn't already happened once, when he got booted from Community. I'm not sure how he managed to get through his abuse allegations right in the middle of meeeeetoo with nothing more than a public non-apology either. He must have serious dirt on someone.

And had an episode subplot basically making fun of how much he got away with.

This is why cancel culture is such a dangerous thing. Even when you are innocent, you are still fucked. Both Depp and Roiland are now ruined career wise. They obviously will not wind up homeless, but they will never have gigs as good as they once had after this shit storm. And it is only because they are celebrities that they managed to recover anything at all. 99% of the time, people wind up ruined permanently without any means of survival to fall back on. The average person would be fucked.

I wish these false accusers would be thrown in jail, I really do.

I am actually starting to think that banning the practice of forced institutionalization was a horrible mistake.
I wish America would bring back insane asylums. Unfortunately considering we live in Biden's America, lunatics are roaming through our society and making things worse than they already had
