I've been observing this character who goes by 'dbdr' on youtube and discussing him with various people, some of whom are here and already know what I'm talking about. Several of the subjects that have been coming up in relation to this were just raised in the 'Looksmaxxing, etc' thread so I thought I'd make a thread to go into this with more focus here.

Rather than talking about specific videos and statements I'll just speak about him as a character. You can get a feel for his life by clicking through a few videos as the subjects interest you. He thinks out loud and tells stories rather than laying out theories and beliefs in a systematic fashion so there's no real right way to go about learning the story here.
Why I consider this character extremely interesting is that he sees himself as a failure, but I see him as an excellent example of the kind of person who is failed by our time. How this relates to inceldom and the blackpill is that in the other thread it was rightly pointed out that incel and blackpill communities get a kind of pleasure out of self-identifying as failures. This encourages people to think about themselves like dbdr does, with a bias that runs against themselves. The blackpill is supposedly about accepting painful truths, but I believe it runs into an opposite extreme and becomes a kind of inverse bluepill where people miss truths about the world because they can't bear anything that would reflect well upon themselves.
Much of the confusion around the subjects of blame and trauma and the effects of attempting to work through them is murkied by the fact that women and niggers got onto it. They are irresponsible and have no sense for truth mostly. Blaming forces outside of yourself for your problems is a very different thing depending on whether or not you are right. This guy would see himself far more clearly if he acknowledged the world's brutal prejudices of him and the failures of those who had power over him. He's half right with the blackpill on this. He rightly recognises that he doesn't have personality problems, women just despise him because he's ugly and weak-natured. But he can't see or bear the whole other side of the blackpill. The suffering in his life that he faces due to his virtues, rather than his failings or shortcomings.
This is the really hard part to accomplish. Especially in our time. It's the kind of thinking that will bring more criticism, contempt, and attempts at correction down upon your head than anything else you can dream up. The idea that you suffer because you are good. Taking these thoughts can grant incredible perspective. Very rare though. I think this rarity is proof that this is the real spiritual test that filters those who maintain themselves as disinherited aristocrats of the soul from the despair cultists who identify with their own felt decay.
This poor guy's self assessment is very fucked up on several points despite his ostensible devotion to truth and clear sight. A tendency which has catastrophic consequences for humanity is that sensitive people I believe are more likely to be biased against themselves than in favour. While with duller people it's the other way around. Nigger and woman demand JUSTICE when they're actually just shit. Brutalised nerd accepts that he was the problem all along no matter how hard life hurts him. The only people today who as classes of people confidently believe that their lot in life should be better are those who are already living far beyond what they deserve and can make good of. While this is happening those chronically reduced to a state of existence below what they deserve and could make good of naturally choose to quietly and peacefully "make good" of what life has dealt them and build identities and a community around their designated status as "losers", "failures" and "incels".
Emotional labour is real. Just our society looks for it where it wants to distribute virtue status, not where quiet stress suffering is actually concentrated.
dbdr considers himself rather stupid, but if you listen to him speak he's quite good at articulating himself and seems to possess stronger than average insight into the world around him. He raises miserable experiences and poor performance in school as proof against himself, it doesn't occur to this kind of person to raise this as proof against the world. I know several very intelligent people who were in some way labelled retarded by the school system and had their youths defined by that. dbdr has had his life reduced to a completely miserable state, but he doesn't get mad. There's no sense of injustice when he speaks. He's just trying to "make good". He has, for now at least, been spiritually defeated. And one can see this streak running through the blackpill community. For the most part his comment sections are this low energy hugbox revolving around embracing failure and seeking peace through a lack of resistance in life.
I'll open this subject to the forum now. No definitive statements to make beyond this yet.
