His parents also had him extremely late in life. His mother was in her mid 40s and father was in his late 40s. Probably how he ended up with Klinefelter Syndrome and (suspected) autism, both of which are strongly correlated with advanced parental age.
I think his family had been planning to put him in a group home for a long time. There are older videos where he talks about his mother wanting him in one because she didn't think he could make it in life on his own. He mentions inheritance money being put aside for it.
I think his uncle's plan all along was to bully him into having an episode so they could have him committed.
I have mixed feelings about all of this. He's a likeable guy and a good storyteller, but can we honestly say he was on a good life trajectory? He spent most of the last two years as a homeless alcoholic living out of his car. His version of getting back on his feet was living in a flophouse and working a low wage delivery/warehouse job, both of which quickly fell through anyway resulting in him being homeless again. That "80K trucking job" was probably some kind of bait and switch employment scam. I also don't doubt that he does have mental health issues. If even half of what he says is true his life was a trainwreck. His family are jerks, but I can also see where they are coming from. They probably aren't sure what to do with him besides the psych ward and group home. So while it's not great that he's now a drugged out zombie, what else do you do with someone like this? His mother sounds like a horrible person, but I also think she was right about him not being able to make it on his own.
