Uncle gave yous a place to stay and he was meeting for an in person interview that he had a chance of succeeding in, if yous hadn't been coached into taking antipsychotics the week prior.
The point is, he had already solved the problem of homelessness in the Midwest. His family worrying about it, is a fiction that they made up themselves, so they could post-hoc justify putting him in a group home.
What would have happened with his living situation and employment, had his uncle not coached him, we'll never know.

I think it's very telling that he said "I'm harvesting" because it shows that deep down he is aware of the things that his commenters and people on threads like these often keep telling him about. That everyone around him, family and "friends", are taking advantage of him. That the institutions are doing everything they can to not help him. That any employers he might have can and will lowbrow him into legal, but indentured servitude. In one word, that he's being harvested. Deep into his subconscious he knows it, I am assure. The psychotropics only served to help bring that back up more easily.

Now that he is aware, he can do some introspection without the fear of being hurt, because, how can anyone get hurt if they can't feel pain anyways? If they are completely and utterly numb and broken already? So he admits this relationship he has with the world. And then, in an ironic but not entirely out-of-character change of heart, he actually takes action, not just reacts, and decides to go against the man who threatened him. He says "I'm harvesting" because he is, in turn, tired of being only at one side of that dynamic and now he feels indebted to some of that emotional energy, the energy of the victim that gets transponded to the victimiarium in every crime, which is sublime, in the Victorian sense of the word, for the same reason that horror films or combat sports are.

Which is to say, I think that DBDR is becoming wicked, unbridled. He's going through an intense, deep-rooted morphological reacomodation, I fear. Another piece of evidence for this is that he flat out told his mother that the next time he hears about her, it better be from a funeral director, lest he won't answer.

If, and that's a big supposition, he surives this ordeal at the sanatorium. He will come out a completely different man. One who is aware that he has nothing left to live for. One who has no doubts as to what he is anymore. One who has drunk the poison and become acquainted with its flavor. He claims to be laying in bed, all day, no doubt since he's physically extremely weakened, but the body demands movement, and if the corpse can't provide it, it flows into the mind, and the mind has no bounds, it can keep processing forever and ever. With no real obligations nor duties, he has no interruptions. Who is to say that he's not become a mad scientist with his laboratoray being his own psyche? A maddog who has rationality to his own madness is something to behold.

All it takes is one bad day for the sanest man to be reduced to lunacy. Now imagine seventy.

That is the most depressing part about this.
He was doing so well and then HR and his family happened.

HE WASNT HOMELESS WTF HE HAD A JOB AND AN APARTMENT
The job demoted him from driving to working in the warehouse claiming too many of his deliveries were late, cut his pay, and stopped giving him shifts, effectively firing him. The landlord wanted him out of the apartment for being messy and not having a stable job, and worked something out with him so he could break the lease and another tenant could immediately come in.

He was back to being a homeless drifter living in his car when he went down to Florida for life coaching with Uncle Brendan. The little bit of a life he had made for himself in Iowa had collapsed. The job and apartment were done. He also had a falling out with that other delivery driver who had been his friend.

He wasn’t doing well. He was drowning. And that desperation led him to make a bad decision. He knew his Mom's family was a pit of vipers, and went to Uncle Brendan's house anyway because he had tried to make it on his own and it wasn't working. I think he also knew that job was a long shot. They were either going to be too selective to take him or it was some kind of employment scam.

do people raised by single mothers do so well
I have a friend who's from Arkansas. He has 16 step-siblings. He works two jobs. And he is 5'7''. What is the source of his success for him is none other than his positive attitude. He always tries to see the most beautiful version of the picture he is presented, without being delusional.
Right now he's in Mexico doing freelance because the university charged him 20k to his bill for no reason at all, so he had to withdraw from this semester while that issue was sorted out. And he sees it as an opportunity, not as a curse or as a blight. "Mexico is cheaper", "Latinas", etc.

An unexpected result of this, however, is that if he's not able to see anything positive, anything minimally good about a situation, he doesn't linger and he leaves immediately. He's not afraid of dropping anything on the spot, 20 seconds flat. If there isn't genuine profit to be made from it, why stick around? Someone who sees the world in negative shades might instead endure the abuse thinking "it could be worse", or "this is the best I'll manage".

He's humble. And he has dignity.

why didn't you answer my query

nothing you wrote indicates that
I am sorry.

Personally, I think that being a child of divorce doesn't matter as much as money and your mother's motherly qualities matter. Some kids I know at the school I went, well they all come from divorce, some are deadbeats and some aren't. They are roughly all in the same tax bracket too. I think that again, it depends a lot on the mentality you get brought up with, which does come from a tutor or caregiver.

Doing well is only subjective if you use a qualifier. DBDR has never done objectively well and people who are doing well don’t end up where he is. Even knowing the details shared here I’m struggling to understand how he ended up in this position. Even if he were a woman I wouldn’t accept the excuse of somehow being strong armed into this. Imagine being forced or tricked into something like the Elon School in your late twenties. The only two ways this happens is that you’re so far gone that you don’t understand what’s happening around you or you want to be there.

Anyway I think the prior speculation that he’s there until he can get on disability is the best case scenario. There are people who need just a little help to get over the hump and then there are people like DBDR who keep intentionally jumping on rakes.

The statistics don't support this. Single motherhood and divorce both have horrible outcomes for children, especially boys. Something like 41% of the US prison population was raised by single moms. And anecdotally the family member I have who was raised by a single mother spent many years in prison after being hit with a three strikes law. I haven't seen him since 2008. Children need their fathers in their lives (or at least a father figure like a grandpa or uncle) or they come out messed up. Being raised in an in-tact household with a mother and father gives children the best chance for success in life, and every statistic we have shows this. DBDR has a lot of problems sure, but one of the biggest is that he's a victim of divorce, single motherhood, and an absent/apathetic father. Raised in a loving in-tact family he might have been a completely different person. Him ending up in the nut house was statistically likely. Divorce and single motherhood badly impact the long term mental health of children.

Is English your third language?

I think you’re asking if children of single mothers do well and the answer is of course they do. No matter what disadvantage you come up with there’s someone who became a success despite having that very disadvantage.

At the time of her death in 1919 Madam CJ Walker was a millionaire, as a black woman in the United States. Andrew Jackson was an orphan at 14 years old and there are many better examples of people in far worse situations than DBDR.

I am not saying someone’s conditions aren’t real, what I am saying is giving yourself an excuse is self-defeating. I know the US is in really bad shape and it’s hard out there, particularly for young white men but so what? You can’t change it, all you can do is give your best effort towards intelligent goals and let the chips fall where they may. If you tell yourself “oh but I’m the child of a single mother@ your subconscious will sabotage you left, right and center.

Which is why it’s painful listening to these blackpillers. “Woah is me, women suck.” If there are poor men, ugly men and tiny dicked men who have chicks maybe you should figure out what else is going on rather than throw your hands up in the air in learned helplessness. Every answer you need is on the internet, try them until you find what works. But they are so invested in their self-image of being a loser they can’t let go of it. And these guys spread this bullshit to others through social media.

Oh well, more for me I guess.

Well, I'm not saying that they are all Forbes 30 under 30, either. If we talk numbers, there was a group with 7 kids. I knew them from elementary to high school. Only 1 of them, the one who has always been known as the smart one, is in college right now, studying medicine. The rest are either in Bohemian travels or having a nepotist position at their parents' or doing a meme degree. Suffice to say, I do agree with you. But what I mean to say it is isn't the end all be all. 41% isn't 100% -- what matters more I believe is the actual raising of the kid. Does the mother let them do whatever they want? Do they teach right or wrong? Do they teach him manners?

Yeah I really picked up on this when DBDR was talking about getting a job and moving on with his life. Do you even watch his videos? What are you saying? DBDR is one of the least whiny blackpillers. He didn't choose to get coached into the loony bin. You might as well be bootstrap posting like a stereotypical boomer.

I don't think anybody has told him this before, you should reach out and let him know.

Or you could just keep doing what you're doing here, convincing everybody that DBDR is a retarded loser, because everybody didn't already think that.

I don't think anybody here is pretending DBDR is a great hardworking guy, or that he lacks agency and that nothing is his fault.
I think what people here are acknowledging is that even though he's lazy, dumb, and causes a lot of his own problems, an unfair amount of shit that's happened to him isn't his fault and was out of his control.

You can claim he's a liar, but the reality is he's been posting for years now, and regardless of how many people want him to stream or sell shit, he doesn't. He hasn't tried scamming his audience, he doesn't take money from them, and he isn't leeching off the government.
A lot of people, myself included, have sympathy for him because a lot of us could have been in similar situations if shit went differently.

But if you want to keep convincing people that DBDR is like a huge piece of shit or something because he's a bum loser I guess, have at it.
