They feature him with red hair and obvious Klinefelters (he looks a bit womanly), his manlet friend, Wingman (who is apparently a black guy?), and lots of Twisted Tea. DBDR confirmed they were real and that someone he knew was blackmailing him. There are landmarks and signs in the photos from the Chicago area, including his high school being identifiable and a sign at a train station.
His stories line up poorly with NYC. His mother is poor. No way she could afford to live in a trust fund kid playground like Brooklyn. But Chicago still has working poor neighborhoods. Chicago has good pizza. It has Boomer froglets with goofy accents like his uncle. Big Irish and Italian populations. Hardcore drinking and bar culture. It's a 3.5 hour drive from Iowa (reachable even for a broke homeless guy with only a few bucks to his name living in his car). Iowa is half the country away from NYC.
HIs stories of lots of drunk mentally ill people living on the fringes of society and often on disability always sounded like something out of the US version of Shameless to me (which is set in Chicago), not like something out of NYC. His Dad is basically Frank Gallagher if he moved to a crappy trailer in Georgia. DBDR himself seems like he would be a character on the show. His Mom and Uncle Brendan also seem like Shameless characters. Fiona Poocrack would fit right in on Shameless. The characters on that show are based on archetypes of people from the slums and suburbs of Chicago (also a little bit on the British show, but not much).
People who played with him on Xbox Live also said his account showed Chicago.

yeah, im familiar with the pictures but never made that connection. im also too lazy to look into it, so as that drunk boomer said, i'll give you DA BENEFIT OF DA DOUBT. the thing that confuses me though, is he often depicted the people in his stories from "NYC", particularly the boomers, as having that stereotypical italian american NYC accent. and the way he impersonates their voices, it seems like a genuine retelling of how those people sound. in fact, that BENEFIT OF DA DOUBT boomer who he recorded also had that New Yorker accent. do some Chicago boomers talk that way, too? is there a large irish/italian population there? because that was another key detail of his stories and i feel like it'd be a weird thing to consistently lie about.
this is kind of fucking my head up because i've been watching DBDR for years and have mostly trusted the legitimacy of his stories, because the details would almost always line up and he told them in a way that seemed genuine. if he lied about this detail, even if to avoid being doxxed, it makes me question what other details in his stories he may have omitted, embellished, or even lied about. IF this whole Chicago thing is true.

And yes Boomer froglets with that goofy kind of accent Uncle Brendan has are there too. DBDR talked about not being able to get good pizza in the south. Chicago is also known for its pizza. And I don't mean deep dish. It has good pizza in general, just like New York because it's full of Italians. Those beef sandwiches on the Bear were also something created by Italian immigrants in Chicago. Irish people are so common there they dye the river green on St Paddys Day. DBDR being Irish/Italian is very typical of Chicago.

No but for real now: the harvesting incident, followed by the self-dox really brought to the forefront something which a lot of people have started to notice: he may not be as mentally stable and as honest as we thought. While I agree that the information he has provided thus far is, if not honest, then at least solid I think a lot of context has been left out so that he is always the victim. Take, for instance, his short-lived trucking career: this nigger fell asleep on the wheel, multiple fucking times. Not to mention the traffic violations and that time he admitted to driving on the wrong side of the fucking road. Maybe he is not as sane as we think or as he would like us to believe.
After watching the recent video and just reading some of the comments both here and on the video, I find myself just screaming at him "DUDE< JUST LEAVE< THEY CAN"T STOP YOU!" The only thing that might be a problem would all those meds he claims they have them on since he can't even name some of them and I feel like quitting cold turkey is a bad idea. I really want to root fro him , i really do, but the fact that he thinks type 2 diabetes is something you can treat like a cold makes me feel like his time left is short as heartless as that sounds to say. I hope that he gets out and leaves this whole mess behind him, but the way he sounded in this recent video really worries me.
I think a lot of the dumb stuff he said / did recently can be blamed on him being barred tf out tbh, he even stated he was in a bad headpsace during the recording of that video
