The vtubing world is filled from 1 view hobbyists to megalithic giants who's single stream could fund an entire household for a year. There are also those who never make it and have hung up their virtual tights for good. I want this thread to be a place to memorialize the latter. I imagine that there will be questions of "well does X count since X already re-debuted as Y?" and my response would be that if the character you liked is gone and almost certainly is never going to return, or worse has been majorly scrubbed off the Internet, then I think that's worthy of a post. If there was a chuuba that you watched that is no longer with us, be that because they lost interest, fell ill, died, or moved onto greener pastures, then list their name, a picture &/or a clip if you got it, why they're gone (if you know it), and maybe a small memorial post. Show them that someone remembers them.
Sister Abigail Magdalene Dovely

Reason gone: Her ministry finally got off the ground.
In Memoriam: Abi, an actual Lutheran sister, started streaming when the shutdown in 2020 stopped a ministry or outreach she was working on from getting started. I found her out through the ENVtuberShowcase video sometime later and she was a very refreshing and wholesome breath of fresh air. While I do miss her silliness, sweetness, and holiness, I am happy that she is gone and doing her ministry work. Her spreading the Word and feeding God's flock is far more important than being a silly goose on twitch for me or a bunch of other anons. Thank you for the time we had, Abi. It was fun and Godspeed.
Go! Go! Nippon! Live With You!

Reason gone: Shitcanned by an autistic visual novel creator.
In Memoriam: Go! Go! Nippon! started off as visual novel where you the player gets shown around famous sites in Tokyo by a pair of Japanese sisters, Makoto and Akira Misaki. Seven years after the game released, the publisher, Mangagamer, decided to cash in on the Vtuber craze and turn his creations into streamers. The Misaki sisters took an obvious cash grab for a long dead franchise and with the help of their manager. Eina Sensei, and sheer will and charm they actually made something enjoyable out of it. They struggled until they hit that magic number of 10k subscribers, an important milestone because that was the number Mangagamer said that if they hit then he'd make a new GGN game aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand then he told them he was shutting down the channel so he could make the new game. On October 12th they made a tearful announcement saying that they were graduating and on November 5th they had their final stream for their Travelers. Over 2 years later there has been no updates on a new GGN game. In the end, the Misaki sisters ended up doing far, far better than they ever could've done with some dumpy asshole who called himself Bamboo and seemed to think everyone was interested in his visual novel and not the sisters. The travelers, Misaki Frequent Flyers, are now Ruffians for Fuwawa and Mococo Abyssguard. I couldn't be happier that they found such success after being thrown away like so much trash but it's still a bit bitter sweet. Thank you, ladies. You were and are something special.
