One thing about the new map i noticed is that it's a lot smaler so moving about as a smaller hero is no longer a multi day adventure.

Movement is also a lot smoother they absolutely eased up on the timings for slide jumping.

I’m not sure if it’s smaller or that most of the lanes seem to go straighter. The jungle’s gotten harder to navigate imo.

I know it’s probably the flood of noobs and returning players, but getting MVP in both the matches I ran today felt really good after the last few days of trash.

For some reason they made the decision to completely remove the older map from the game. Replays from before the update don't work at all. There's probably some fuckery you could do by downloading the old map but then you'd probably have to rename the new one, which might break being able to actually play the game.

Also Hidden King side now has an extra sinners compared to Archmother side. Granted, it is in the bell tower that only has one exit and alerts the whole map to your presence.

I really don't know what to think about the new map, it seems like there's less cover around walkers and base guardians. I think once most people learn the jungle it'll be pretty fun.

I think they fucked the voice filter up. He almost sounds like Meatwad in one of his new voice lines with Lash

Any idea how the purple mist thing that’s the Archmother equivalent to the tower works?
 
After playing around a bit one thing I like is that they increased the amount of souls on the map and generally made farming faster so now it’s relatively easy to get maxed level and fully built up and still have a couple fights at full power. In the previous patch by the time you hit that point the game was usually decided or a 50 minute slog.

Also they made interiors somewhat larger so now they’re still small enough that CQB heroes like shiv or ven can still have an advantage but when a team fight tumbles into one of them it’s still somewhat readable.

It disables stamina regeneration when you’re inside it and slows it down when you leave. Nobody from the outside can see inside the pit.
 
In celebration of them finally fucking dropping the update, my funniest match as seven I've ever had. If you saw it on the /vg/ thread when I first posted it months ago, no you didn't.

I do have to agree. Seven is a troll that lives in the sewers, him reading a thrown away fashion weekly magazine isn't out the realm of possibilty.
And he uses the information to annoy people I guess. Same type of charisma as Metokur. ( Both can be classed as homos)


Ratking is getting my vote. Glad they took the community concept.
 
played a few matches and man, they were not kidding about it being a yuge update. All the lanes have more of their own unique visual identity and for lack of a better word, feel "larger" or more expansive, especially mid/blue lane. Of the new characters I voted for Solomon, partly because i'm interested in what his play style would be but also because my head canon is that he's a black Israelite from the meme videos.
 
One sad thing is they finally removed DL_streets (four lanes) from the files. Which is a shame since you can no longer even run customs on it without deadworks and manually downloading the map.
 
Y'know I hope despite the fact I haven't touched the game since 2024 I still get free gibs for being a (fake) oldfag like TF2 did

"Why not just play it again?" because I really just don't care for mobas or extreme learning curves or having a large part of the win ride on me being good. But if they ever do a PVE mode I'll be there day one. I really like the art design and character lore but that can only take you so far.

If I got shit on by a Viscous with a Meatwad skin I think I would have a stroke.

What's your guys' bets on hero release order? Judging by the fact that Billy and Rem were the first winners of previous votes, I think the furries are again going to sway the vote and Rat King will release Friday. After that I think it'll probably be Baba, then Deadman. I think the last three could be a tossup, but it'll probably go Solomon, Nurse, then Violet.

My prediction is: rat king -> chess kang -> danny -> baba -> harrow -> violet
Hoping for baba/danny first though.
