Debate NaggotFigger about digital art and traditional art techniques. - Ironically, it’s not even political? An overworking weeaboo artist wants to debate about art? That’s weird.

Digital art is for niggers, chinks, and gays.

I wouldn't know.

I do digital because I need the tools to assist my lack of skill. I would literally never do physical media. Not even if there was a fire.
To develop skill you must do shitty drawings. These will produce less shitty drawings. Then, you need to do more less shitty drawings to get to mediocre drawings. Then, you can get to decent drawings.

Picking out the right things to study & improve and persistence is the only thing separating one person's skills from another. If you can't do it for physical reasons, that's another story, but the way to conquer lack of skill is by doing it. I say this as someone who keeps shitting their pants and running away from doing perspective, if that helps. We all have things we shy away from even if we can improve them by doing.

Digital art is more convenient. Multiple layers, selecting where you want to draw, undo and erase anything. Versus traditional: "whoops, you fucked up when inking that line, gotta start from scratch now, faggot."

In terms of animation, digital looks better but physical is just so much more interesting. Cell animation has sort of a warmer look than digital, kinda like LEDs vs incandescent lights. But if you are an incandescentard, do you realize that you can just buy lower tempurture LED lights? Incandescent lights will die soon because they are fucking wasteful and retarded. They will be replaced by low tempurture LEDs and that is a good thing.

Time to be le artsy fartsy and gay:

It doesn't matter what tools you use. Your art will be good if you put your soul into it, and it will suck if it is uninspired corporate slop.

Whenever you use AI, photoshoop, GW(tm) Citadel(tm) Finebrush(tm) or Crayola Fucking Model Magic, doesn't matter.

Physical media isn't terrible to undo a mistake with, I've done works drafted in pencil that had the linework finished with ink. Though you do have to be careful not to press down on the paper too hard, and of course, Ctrl + Z doesn't exist in real life, either.
I wish I had some /ic/-esque shitpost to throw in here, but it's been almost a decade since I last seriously lurked that board. Obligatory "read more Loomis"
