I get this is kind of arguing semantics, but I've never really thought "internet daddy simulator" was the appropriate term for internet male figures, whether they're comedian/shitposters like Mister Metokur or Sam Hyde or more serious thinkers like Jordan B. Peterson. Maybe it's just because I don't come from a broken home, but I've never needed a surrogate father figure in my life to give me life advice. I'd imagine most people who watch e-daddy figures don't come from broken homes, either. More importantly, however, a lot of the times the "internet daddies" are people who are roughly within their audience's age demographics in the first place. Like okay, some people like Peterson are probably closer to e-daddies given their age, and I guess late zoomers like me are young enough that someone like metokur, who's early millenial/late Gen X, would be old enough to be a Dad. But I think of some people who are given this label and they're about ten or so years older than me. It's because of this that I feel like "internet older brother" might be a more appropriate term. Someone who's a bit older than you and who's more street wise, but still young enough to be in touch with you. Again, maybe this is just pure semantics and it's probably also subjective because I personally don't feel like "I need a surrogate father figure".

Trying to think of some people who would fall into this category. I know he's pushing 40, but Sam Hyde is still relatively young. Maybe someone like Nick Mullen would be more appropriate.
