Debate user Osama Bin Laden if autism is a superpower

It's only a superpower if there's a supervillain.

With great power comes great responsibility.

Autism is like a "get out of jail free" card where you don't have to be responsible for your autistic actions.

It is an anti-superpower.

Super powers do not exist, as far as any one knows. They are something from comic book fiction. Therefore, autism is a priori not a super power.

The notion that it is a super power is the sort of insulting condescenion uttered to individuals so crippled with this condition that they accept bring talked down to like a child. Hence I have this image to use to insult people when they act as if autism is a super power.

Umm excuse me William Shatner has extensively documented humans with superpowers

Autism is a horror that ruins lives and destroys families, It should be eradicated via whatever iteration of CRISPR comes along with the ability to do so. Of course, this may strike fear into the space where a Kiwi heart belongs - do not fear, frens.

We’ll source cows from other illnesses that are less ruinous, like schizophrenia, psychopathy, paraphilias, obsessive compulsives, there’s a trove, I tell you! A TROVE!

Let’s be rid of these misery machines. We’ll keep having the hahas without them, I’m certain.

Eh, I think it depends on what your autistic fixation is and how you use it. If your autistic fixation is anime and all you do is jackoff in the basement, no, that is not a superpower. Now, if your autistic fixation was, for instance, GPS and Google Earth, and you used it to find the flag during HWNDU, then yes, I would consider that a superpower.

Depends on what kind. I would guess the ability to obsessively focus on something could result in a lot of good things for the world, so in those cases, maybe it is. My 5th grade teacher's son however was a barely verbal and unable to get a job that she didn't help him get, usually serving lunches at the school. In those cases, it's a disability and a euphemism for socially inept retard.

autism is a mental disorder. that's like saying schizophrenia or bipolar disorder is a superpower. it can be debilitating.

That's true. I guess it depends on how high/low functioning the person is. When I wrote my response I was only thinking of the higher functioning autists I have met through the course of my life.
