Alright, I'm an actual navel/belly button fetishist here, with a throwaway account. Figured I could clear up a couple of things.
Yeah, we do exist. It it an actual fetish, and is surprisingly popular on sites like deviantart and even pornhub. Not like it's that popular or anything, but I think it's prominent enough that it shouldn't just be marked as something that autists like Bryce have or whoever.
I guess the best way to understand the fetish is by comparing it to the foot fetish, as the two are surprisingly similar. They're both pretty embarrassing and revolve around body parts that some find disgusting, which is why they aren't exactly something you would want to advertise about yourself. They're also sort of "piggyback fetishes" on top of more normie fetishes, with feet being closely related to the more normal fetish for hot legs while navels are closely related to the pretty common fetish for cute tummies or sexy midriffs. (I mean, why do you think crop tops or tied up shirts are so popular?)
Most of the fetishists, including myself, recognize that it's weird and go to lengths to protect our identity when discussing it or sharing art online with other like-minded individuals. We also know that the average person would find it strange or disgusting, which is why we contain it and don't spread it everywhere. Another common theme is that we also aren't attracted to fucking cartoon characters from children's shows. I guess a way I can put it is that I only like navels on pretty ladies. (lol)
Bryce, on the other hand, is part of the other group that just confuses and somewhat angers me. It seems like he tries his hardest to make his fetish known to everyone who sees him, which doesn't make any sense since it seems like it would only be detrimental to himself. And on top of that, him putting the fetish everywhere is pretty much undoing all the work we've done to conceal it. I don't want it to be like the foot fetish where Tarantino shoves it into all his movies. It's supposed to be a private thing in your sex life, and I'm definitely gonna try to keep it that way for myself.
I guess the only explanation is that Bryce's autism prevents him from having any shame, and he doesn't even realize that he shouldn't be putting his fetish everywhere. I'm guessing his attraction to children's cartoon characters also stems from his special interest in these shows, a thing that many autists have. If anything, his fetish is only the cherry on top, without it he would probably still be doing weird sexual things with these characters, maybe something like Dora the Explorer asking the doctor why she's growing breasts. (lmao)
The worst part is that he isn't the only one. There are many other accounts on deviantart that are clearly run by autists or children (autistic children?) where all the posts are uncanny mspaint drawings of characters who are playing with their belly buttons. Bryce is unique because 1. he's in his fucking 30s and 2. he's trying to make these blatantly fetish drawings into "psa"s so he can probably try to hide the fact that this shit turns him on. It angers me because it gets mixed in with actually good art made by talented artists who truly understand that the fetish is something that should be sexual and private and not mixed in with children's television.
Uh... rant/explanation over. I'll check this thread every so often, if you have any questions I'll try to answer them.
