Depends on the barber. My current barber and I talk a lot. The owner usually joins in if he's around. Depends on the what's getting done too. When I started going to a shop off base they could have you in and out if the chair in a 5-10 minutes with a dope belligerent medium while they chatted on their bluetooth. I'll echo what others have said, it depends on the barber. My current one is great, it's just random small talk about work, food or whatever. I'm not into sports so it's a relief to not be asked about it. I've had some in the past who didn't speak English very well but insisted on trying to have a conversation and that shit's annoying.
