Do you think 8 hours sleep a day is over doing it?

We are often told we should get 8 hours but that is really a lot to ask. I usually get 5-6 hours of sleep a night during the week. I accidentally slept in today as my alarm didn't wake me (lucky it's the weekends) so for the first time in perhaps a year I got 8 hours sleep and I don't feel any better.

You should sleep as much as you possibly can and be thankful that you can. Sleep is the only time your body can work on clearing beta-amyloid from your brain. If you don't clear enough beta-amyloid on a regular basis, it builds up as plaque, which leads to Alzheimer's and dementia.

I probably have some of that wrong, but it's more than enough to get you started.
