The constant fighting and toxicity is clearly effecting peoples minds. And I think it's causing some to think nothing can happen to them due to anonymity and they pick fights or snap if they get dogpiled online.

I think it's causing them to just not care about what they do or say anymore and just fight constantly. People are getting more openly violent though, arguments turn into murders.Nah, it's great, it let's people blow off steam, so that they get habituated to saying whatever is on their mind and get social reinforcement for it. Who even has time to get violent when they could sit behind a computer and farm dopamine?
Yeah, maybe the Internet wasn't a good example to use. I've just been noticing how petty and violent people are getting now. Most people do shit online that they're too pussy to do in real life. Most stuff they say and do within the bounds of technology likely doesn't influence their real life behaviors. They can conceal their online activities/opinions well enough so it doesn't make them violent or abrasive in real life, but if it does; they likely have psychological issues.
The Disinhibition Effect is real, you'd be surprised at how many toxic online users or people acting tough/edgy are literal children; if you ever saw these people in real life you'd probably be surprised at how small, timid and gentle they are.
I know that, but they're being more open about it now. Society tried to control it through executions, but we barely do that now.I hate to sound like a doomer here, but, no, people were always violent sociopaths who would spring at any opportunity to hurt someone else in any way, physically or emotionally.
The internet is definitely making it easier to form organized crime (riots), but that won't actually change anything about the human condition. People have always been completely depraved.
As for mere online arguments, I mean, most of the time, people who dish it can't take it. That's why every checkmark on twitter gloats about their political opinions, then either goes to Mastodon or just turns off replies/privates their account immediately after to stay in their echo chamber. They're not violent, they're children trying to get the last word in.
You're wrong. Fiteme, newfag.arguments turn into murders.

You know what I mean.Shitposting isn't fucking fighting, lmao.
Yes, that's why I'm laughing.You know what I mean.

I know that. But we're on the verge of another one, if current trends say anything.I know it's before your time, but the 70s were a borderline civil war. We've calmed down, believe it or not.
so what are your plans when civil war breaks out againI know that. But we're on the verge of another one, if current trends say anything.

I think it will be just really violent, not a clear cut two sides thing.so what are your plans when civil war breaks out again
Just the anger I've been seeing. How am I a doomer? I've made like three threads today just asking questions. What the fuck are the current trends saying?
Every lefty in the US has been screaming for a civil war after 2016. If anything, current trends say we're pretty much incapable of a civil war anymore.
Man, you are one hell of a fearmongering doomer. This is really typical behavior of sheltered people. The kids are playing their music too loud these days, it must be that newfangled Elvis fellow, we didn't have his kind when I was a youngen. Everyone wants to blame their inability to keep up with the world on some new development.
