A couple weeks ago, I was feeling very bad, and very worried about my health.

I go outside to smoke, and see this weird dude approaching me, but not in a direct way. Anyway, he finally comes up to me and asks me if I know someone who could let him sleep at their place. He seems very out of place, in white shorts when it's cold outside, no bag, does not look homeless. Does not provide any sob story either.

I obviously say no, because that's kind of sketchy. Then he says, "something unrelated, but I believe in god, and I believe that god loves you". Then leaves.

It made me feel better. And this shit never happened to me before, so that was kind of weirdly timed. Maybe it was a sign of some sort, maybe not.

I did a thing on Wednesday that was nice.
I had some good fortune on Sunday.
Just how the universe played out. Earl might call it karma or something but it's not really. Just perception. I may have still had the Sunday good fortune regardless of what I did Wednesday. They might not even be related my Sunday fortune could have come from a good deed I did back in 1987 or 2003 who's to say how long the time is between events?

I think it's the random experiences that shape our lives. We can only react to the unplanned things in the way we know best, but that's how we learn. I do not think that there's a grand plan, but I'm grateful for the uncertainty and post-nut clarity that life has given me.

You'd have to clarify what you mean by "reason".

Things happen due to cause-reaction/effect, so in that sense, yes, there's a reason why. But what "type" is the more interesting question: if you are a determinist, you may believe that it was causality (the universe going on this path, because of all physical/chemical reactions), but if you are religious, you may believe it was god throwing you a hint to learn a lesson or something.

I'm more inclined for the scientific explanation, and what you experienced was the natural situation given the circumstances (i.e: coincidence). You happened to be near a guy that needed that and tried his luck for necessity, or was trying to scam you.

There is no more depth to this. Also, if you're so worried about your health, quit smoking. Innovative idea for you to try out.
