Does anyone else remember when Curious George jumped from a fire escape and broke his legs?

I remember that he was not heavy enough to activate the lever motion of the fire escape where it lowers down to street level, and he jumped from about one story up and broke his legs when he hit the concrete below. There was something about monkey logic where the jungle floor was softer than concrete so that's why he jumped but that makes no sense, I don't think monkeys jump from that high in the wild anyway, do they?

I don't remember any more than what I wrote, sorry. The book had to have been purchased at least 20 years ago, probably written decades before that. I don't have the book, if I did I would post pictures.
